House in Cromac, Nr. Bellac, Haute Vienne, Limousin, France - Peaceful Location In The Lake District Of France Only 3 Min Drive From Swimming Pool & Restaurant

La Maison de Cromac, self-catering holiday house located in a quaint village in the Haute-Vienne department of France. The house is in the heart of rural France but not far from several towns with all the necessary facilities to enjoy the French way of life. The Haute-Viene is the ideal location to explore the Limousin and offers a wide range of activities. Whether it is walking through the scenic countryside or visiting one of the many towns, villages, châteux or churches there is something for everyone to enjoy whilst on holiday. The house dates back to the nineteenth century and comprises of three floors, with the main accommodation based over the first two floors. It is a traditional style French stone property with thick stone walls and shutters, which keep the house nice and cool in the summer. At La Maison de Cromac we give you as much as we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and feel like a home from home. We also provide you with useful equipment so that you don't have to cram your car full of things.

About Simon Willis

We are an English couple who enjoy France and the French way of life. We have 4 kids who love holidaying at our house in the Haute-Vienne.

We wanted to create a home from home in France. A place which is family friendly and offered everything we'd expect when we we're on holiday.

Why Simon Willis chose Bellac area

We wanted a house that was in area that wasn't over populated by British people so that we can experience French life.

We chose the area because of the variety of things to do for children and adults. Being in the lake district the are so many to visit, most of them having kids play areas, sandy beaches.

Around Limoges, forest, roads, and small trails invite you to go wandering and hiking, bike riding, all-terrain biking, and horse-riding, to discover a rural heritage that has been preserved in its rolling landscapes. Lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams offer a wide number of water-based activities, including swimming, fishing, sailing, etc.

What makes this house unique

Whilst the house doesn't have a pool, there is Lac Mondon which is only 3 mins drive from the house. There you'll find a heated pool with waterslide (open June - Early September). There is also a bar/restaurant and kids play area.

There is also a lake with man made sandy beach only 10 mins from the house.

There is also a lovely river (River Benaize) with plenty of rock, rapids and waterfall with a lovely walk that takes you from the lake and past the village.

The house is in an ideal location to explore lots of different parts of france.

We came across this gorgeous French holiday rental via the power of Facebook and are pleased that we did! A cancellation meant that we were able to book a week during the summer holidays. Lucky us, as I understand their diary is already full for 2015! The owners were very professional and communicated everything quickly and easily. The house is spacious and had everything you could ever think of needing.... and more! There was plenty of room for everyone in the lounge area - the children were happy with the Sky TV! The kitchen was well equipped and led out onto a gorgeous garden and patio area, where we sat and ate tasty baguettes and pastries from the local boulangeries. One slight disappointment is that the master bedroom didn't have a king-sized bed. The room was large enough to take one so maybe something to think about...... The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and there are lots of places to visit. The owners' handbook is very useful, full of things to do and places to go, together with local restaurant recommendations. We spent happy days at the local lakes with the children happy swimming out to the pontoon etc. The village is small and quiet. The locals are friendly and it was nice that they didn't speak much English. We came away thinking we'd experienced the real France and LOVED it! We would 100% recommend La Maison de Cromac!! :-)

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à "La Maison de Cromac". Nous remercions Rachel & Simon pour leur panier de bienvenue (parfait pour l'apéro d'arrivée).

La maison était vraiment très propre et parfaitement rangée, elle est parfaitement adaptée à un séjour pour 2 familles (nous étions 2 couples avec 3 ados). Dans un environnement calme, la maison est bien équipée et confortable.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour!

Single sex groups may be permitted, subject to approval. Large groups beyond the intended capacity of La Maison de Cromac are not permitted. Prices are for weekly rent for upto 6 people + baby. We normally rent the property from Saturday to Saturday during peak season & school holidays, but please enquire before booking if you wish to rent the property from a different day as we may be able to accommodate your request depending on demand at the time. Includes all linen, towels, wifi internet, wood for woodburner & heating (if needed) and a welcome pack Outside: As you walk up to the house from the village square, there is a grassed courtyard to the front of the house and a small flower border running alongside the wall & fence with our neighbour. Guest may pull there cars up to the front of the house on arrival to unload the car, but ask guests to park the car on the village square overlooking the house. Utility Room: Just outside the back door, off the patio is the store shed which houses a washing machine for guests use. There is also a washing line in the rear garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We supply all linen (inc Travel cot if required). Towels are also supplied including a beach towel. The house is cleaned for your arrival and we expect the house to be left in a tidy state when you leave. The house is checked after your departure. Other: The dining room has table & chairs seating six, with a high-chair available at no extra charge. At the other end of the room is a second lounge area with sofa and chairs, TV, FreeSat TV from Sky, DVD Player, WiFi Internet, Books, Games, Toys & Laptop.
