Overview

About the property

Cottage in Polyphant, Nr. Launceston, Cornwall, England - Beautiful rural setting on the edge of Bodmin Moor

The cottage is located in the idyllic village of Polyphant. Dating from the 1880's, the cottage is a converted farm building with lots of character and provides a home from home environment from which to explore Cornwall. The cottage is tastefully decorated and provides everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. In the warmer months, enjoy the south facing, two tiered rear garden and when its chillier, snuggle up in front of the log burner in the cosy lounge.

Stone Acre - Polyphant

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 11 nights whilst working in Cornwall and Devon.

Perfect base as less than a mile from A30. Approx 1 hour from Newquay and 1 hour from Exeter on straight runs.

Good Wifi connection for evening work purposes.

Very neat and tidy cottage with all that is required for a break away.

Very comfortable double bed (master bedroom), clean bathroom with good shower, cosy lounge (sofa, leather arm chair), well equipped kitchen and dining area.

Polyphant itself is a very quiet village away from the typical tourist areas so for those requiring a break away from noise, in a homely cottage but will good access to what Devon and Cornwall offer, Stone Acre is for you.

Amazingly presented and well equipped cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time in Cornwall and the comfort, cleanliness, decor and location of this lovely Cornish cottage was the icing on the cake.

The facilities are great and as described. It was so easy to make ourselves at home after each day trip and was nice to have the log burner on for a while in the evening.

The village is an unspoilt beauty in a great location for trips to Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac which are around 15 miles away.

Shiv and Mick kept in touch regarding my booking and answered any questions promptly.

We loved our stay here, and would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Very comfy and cosy

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Stone Acre for 2 weeks, Owner Siobhan was ever quick to reply to my interrogations as I am French and booking a rental in the UK could prove difficult. Not at all, bed linen and towels were provided as indicated so this came in very handy especially when you're a family of 4 including 2 young children. Loo roll, soap for the washing up, bags for the refuse await your arrival =) Sorry if i'm a bit graphic but from a practical point of view i hope this will help future guests.

Beds are comfy and clean. You have blu rays and dvds if ever you feel like staying in the cottage. A log burner if you happen to go when it's winter or late Autumn and logs also. For food shopping, there's a small shop that can help should you feel lazy and don't want to go to Launceston where there's a Tesco (Cheapest place to buy petrol in the area) There's also an ASDA in Bodmin (Petrol is roughly the same as in Tesco).

The cottage is clean and well-maintained and I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and relatives.

Oh yes, you want to watch out for the little wooden unit on the right side of the sink ;)

A little tranquil gem

  • 5 of 5

From enquiry to stay the owners communication was fantastic, entry to the property was easy and there was a comprehensive list of directions and instructions to make everything easier. The property itself was just as in photos. if not nicer! The property was clean and welcoming and we didn't need to light the beautiful wood burner as it really is a cosy little property, warm and welcoming. Unfortunately the weather was stormy and apart from a trip to Launceston we didn't get to explore surrounding areas as much as we had hoped, the cottage was the perfect place to hole ourselves up for a few days peace and quiet. The village itself was welcoming and the locals were very friendly and there is a lovely little village shop on the green. Would thoroughly recommend this little gem for anyone wishing to escape from it all, although area seems to be fairly well connected to all parts of Cornwall and according to the maps everything appeared to be within easy reach (according to satnav, dog friendly beach was on 20 minutes away). Would definitely visit again, thank you for letting us borrow your lovely home.
