Self catering Cottage In the peaceful hamlet Of Little Norton - Tamarisk

Updated: 07-Dec-2016
2 bedroom cottage overlooking the Mill Pond, England - South Somerset Close To National Trust Properties, Cider, Jurassic Coast

Situated next to a historic 18th Century Water Mill, Magnolia cottage is 1 of 4 cottages overlooking the Mill Pond within 2 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. Magnolia is an upside down cottage with the open plan living, dining, and kitchen upstairs and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs. One bedroom has a king size bed. The other is a twin room. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. One highlight is being able to watch badgers outside the patio door while remaining warm & cosy inside. They turn up most nights.

Guests have full use of the garden and grounds to relax, read a book, or eat alfresco.

Little Norton Mill is within walking distance of the village amenities of Norton Sub Hamdon including the village shop The Lord Nelson Public house and church. Ham Hill country park offers 400 acres of open space and excellent walking with the Liberty trail and River Parrett trail nearby. Ham Hill was the largest Iron Age hill fort in England

There are several National trust properties within 20 minutes drive.

Montacute house and village is a 45 minute walk away for those feeling energetic.

Somrset is of course cider country with numerous cider makers locally.

“Great location with friendly and welcoming owners ”

Have always enjoyed visiting Little Norton. This year was my 7th time and I will continue to stay there in the future. The location is ideal to visit places during the day and then return to a very relaxing environment in the evening

“Most enjoyable stay.”

Great Accomodation in Idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully presented and well equipped accommodation in surely one of the most beautiful villages in Somerset! This is a real treasure of a find, once of the best cottages we have stayed at and we have stayed in a lot over the years!

We stayed in Tamerisk , one of the 2 bed cottages. The accommodation is very well thought out, has absolutely everything you need ,very clean & comfortable ( lovely beds!) and very cosy & warm. Then there are the gardens, absolutely beautiful and lots of space to find a quiet spot, we had beautiful autumn weather so we sat out quite a bit. The back of the cottages overlooks the mill pond which is very idyllic. Little Norton Mill is on the edge of Norton Sub Hamdon a very pretty village, where all the houses are made of the lovely local Ham stone, it also has a great pub serving great food! Lots of lovely walks locally in the area surrounding Ham Hill and Montacute House close by. We are so glad we discovered Little Norton Mill we will be back very soon.
