'Casa de la Montana' is a charming Spanish villa style house with spacious, comfortable accommodation, high ceilings with fans, giving a wealth of light. Arches of Moorish design separate the downstairs stylish open plan living areas. This villa has a private guests only swimming pool, sun terrace with sun loungers. There are panoramic all round views from the terraces towards the coast and surrounding mountain ranges. It is situated on the edge of the village 'Cuevas de Becerro' which is centrally placed in the 'Serrania de Ronda', an ideal base for exploring the local area at any time of the year with relaxing and walking particularly suited as the surrounding area is fairly flat. 'Casa de la Montana' is in an easily accessed location by car, bus from Malaga etc. and train (train to Ronda) with the house situated in a quiet side road and yet only a 3 minute walk to all amenities, shops, tapas bars and restaurants. Notes on accommodation: All bedrooms have ceiling fans, curtains and blinds. For families with small children there is a high chair and cot available. New in 2016 we have the balcony from the lounge, complete with relaxing chairs, drinks table and a shade parasol. Ideal for evening relaxing and taking in the views over the surrounding countryside. Outside: The Private Swimming Pool for use by guests staying is approximately 6m x 2.5m with steps into the pool. The Pool terrace is equipped with 4 sun loungers, table with chairs. New Poolside Barbecue fitted in 2016 Other: On the lower ground floor is a large, cool in summer, tiled play/rest room with comfy sofas and a TV. All Bed Linen and other linen is provided, this includes bathroom towels, hand towels and kitchen towels. Also beach towels are provided for the pool use.

Great holiday in Andalusia

Stayed 2 weeks at this lovely property in Andalusia. The house is exactly as described on the website. There was only 2 of us but the property would be spacious even for 6 adults. The pool may be a bit crowded if all 6 decide to go swimming at the same time !

The house is very well equipped & a nice welcome basket was provided.

Communication with Linda was always very prompt and Linda supplied lots of useful information on the accommodation & the local area. Chris had everything ready for our arrival & was there to meet us & explain how everything worked. We had no issues or problems with anything but it was good to know Chris was on hand had we needed anything.

Cuevas del Beccero is a very small, quiet village. It has a selection of a few small supermarkets & bars. Like most guests we visited the tapas bar around the corner & were delighted with the food on offer even if we were never quite sure what was coming due to our lack of Spanish & the bar owners lack of English.

We are keen cyclists & hired road bikes from "cycle Ronda". The local area is excellent for cycling. Once off the main roads there is very little traffic & lots of other pueblo blanco's to discover. Be prepared for some stiff climbs but also some very fast descents.

All in, a great holiday. Would definitely recommend both the accommodation & the area if you're looking for an authentic Spanish experience. If you need lots of restaurants & shops, Ronda is not far away.

Loved it

Beautiful villa in a beautiful Spanish town. Has everything you need and Chris and Linda are always on hand should you need them. Our kids loved it and enjoyed the attention they got from the lovely locals. Really friendly people even though we couldn't understand each other. There are so many places to visit but we definitely recommend a trip to Ronda and also La Playita for a picnic and a swim in the mountains... Can't recommend it enough!

Great stay in Cuevas Del Becerro

We really enjoyed staying in the Villa, lots of space, with everything we needed. The raised terrace was great to have breakfast on, especially in the full sun in the morning. We used the BBQ, bought the steaks from the local butcher, they were great. Great place to chill out, the village was great. It's true, no-one speaks English, but that's part of the charm of the village. I enjoyed trying out my Spanish, limited as it is, especially in Bar Pescaero, where we ate tapas on many occasion. I had many a conversation with the owner, and one of their customers whose sister lived in Edinburgh, and who insisted on practicing his English to me, whilst I practiced my Spanish on him! Their patatas bravas is the best I have every tasted. Loved the way the village closed the Main Street for the restaurants at the weekends, though when you arrive at 11pm at night it does make it interesting as to how you get to the villa! Places to visit:- We went to Seville for the day, don't take your car all the way into the city, we drove to the metro station at Olivar de Quintos, left the car there and took metro in. Ronda - just stunning and only 20 minutes away. That is a must. We also went to San Pedro beach at Marbella. Stunning scenery on drive. Finally a thank you to Linda for her communications, friendly and always helpful, and Chris for running through all the stuff in the villa and how it all worked. Great holiday!

Lovely area, great weather.

House was clean and spacious. Lovely pool, great neighbours - our children made friends with the Spanish children nearby. The local farmer was brilliant - let my children loose with his sheep and donkey.

Amazing villa.

We really loved our stay in the villa which was very spacious, well equipped, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Had some great evenings in with use of the BBQ and sampling the local wine. Cuevas del Becerro is a great place to stay to see the region, particularly Ronda and also has a number of walks locally. Chris and Linda were really helpful during the booking and throughout our stay.

Good with a few issues

Loved exploring the area from this location. Linda was very helpful, answered all our question, and even went out of her way to provide shower soap and shampoo due to us arriving on a day markets are closed. Property was nice but noted a few items that needed looking after and probably required more instruction to assist us during our stay (fuel for hot water heater, locking doors properly, connecting TV, etc). Washing machine worked well, but could not find a tumble dryer.

Owner's Response: Hello Dennis, Glad you enjoyed the area and your stay with lots of rain.. As your arrival was much latter than arranged, which is fine, you telephoned, used the key safe and missed the usual meet up on arrival. Chris came over at your request the next day whilst you were out. On Wednesday Chris came straight over when you left the front door key on the inside and locked yourselves out, so after your day out you were able to regain entry, A tumble dryer is not provided, in the more usual dryer weather laundry dries very quickly in the outside undercover clothes drying area. The hot water is by bottle gas, as is usual in Spain. You and I have kept in contact, so if the bottle had run out or there was anything else that you needed assistance with you knew that you only had to say, why say now? Why Linda Langdon chose Cuevas del Becerro

The family bought the house after 3 years searching for the right property and finally got just what they wanted. 'Casa de la Montana' is a house in the country with real country life, mountain views, lots of wildlife and walks, also local friendly people keeping local traditions. The village is unusual as it is on a flat plateau making it easy to walk and ride as there are no hills. Also plenty of local bars and restaurants and finally its all so easily accessed by road.

What makes this villa unique

The villa is spacious, full of light, high ceilings, airy and with great mountain views, Especially lovely is to take in the evening cool from the comfortable terrace. Ideally situated on a quiet side street of 'Cuevas del Becerro' and yet only a short flat stroll to friendly tapas bars and good selection of shops for your everyday needs. Ronda is easily reached and the villa is ideally placed for exploring the area. A food basket is placed in the home so that newly arrived guests have a good welcome package to start of the holiday well. We have a caretaker who lives nearby and maintains the property. Internet/Wi-Fi has been installed, British TV and ceiling fans for summer coolness.

Walking, especially suited to Autumn, Winter and Spring to fully appreciate the colours of the changing seasons and to make the most of the abundance of wildlife, fauna, wild flowers and trees. Bird watching, a haven for wild birds, Eagles, Buzzards and Jays to name a few. Horse riding country this is and what a wonderful way to discover this beautiful area from horseback.

From Malaga Airport, bus is possible, Airport bus to Malaga bus station then 'Los Amarillos' bus service to Cuevas de Becerro.

Train to Ronda, then 'Los Amarillos' bus service to Cuevas de Becerro.


All day to day needs can be met in Cuevas de Becerro.

Ronda, an absolute must is 19 kilometres away.

Many day trips, including white villages of the Genal Valley, the other side of Ronda.

The house is in the 'Serrania de Ronda' mountain range and this includes interesting places such as Setenil de las Bodegas, Olvera, Caves and the National Park of Grazalema.

Further Details:

'Cuevas de Becerro' is a large thriving village with many tapas bars and restaurants. An excellent one to recommend is just around the corner from the house, 'Bar Pescaero'. There is a supermarket, chemist, fishmongers, bakers and butchers to name a few and a bank with an ATM. Also it has a park with a pavilion and a picnic area with running water channels. There are lots of places to visit nearby, Ronda with Spain's oldest bullring and famous Neolithic caves in Montejaque.

Changeover Day:
Flexible at all times on arrival and departure days, apart from 'high season' July/August, when Saturday to Saturday is preferable. Cheaper flights can be available when avoiding the weekends. Holidays bookings are for 7 nights minimum plus extra days if available at the weekly rate divided by 7 for each additional day..

A payment of 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure the holiday, the balance being due 6 weeks prior to arrival.

We are always as flexible on arrival and departure times to suit guests travel arrangements etc. as we can be. Except for days when we have changeovers and new arrivals on the same day, then we often have to request a departure by 10 a.m and arrival after 3.30 p.m.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
