Overview

About the property

Alpaca Cottage is a one bedroom luxury gem set in a quiet and gorgeous corner of Dorset. Near the coast, it's perefect for walkers, cyclists or relaxers!!

Alpaca Cottage has just been subject to a 10 month luxury refurbishment. With the sitting room/kitchen, double bedroom and designer en-suite all located on the ground floor, it is ideal for those with limited mobility. The cottage has stunning views over a large meadow where our small heard of alpacas live, and you would be welcome to participate at feeding time. The cottage adjoins on one side the owner's house, but has a separate outside area for al-fresco meals or drinks. Located off a private road, and set in the midst of numerous footpaths, as well as just by the National Cycle Path ( bicycles are available for rent) , this is a superb location for the active, or for those just wanting to kick back and relax. The cottage is also close to the beautiful River Frome, which can be walked beside, or even paddled in! The wonderful Jurassic Coast is just 10 miles away, and the historic county town of Dorchester just 5 miles away.

About Paul Abadjian

We have two apartments in Marbella. at La Mairena (S24133) and at Torre Real (S24782), one 1 bedroom apartment in Battersea, London, as well as Alpaca Cottage near Dorchester, Dorset. The Spanish apartments are both owned by Paul and his sister Jane Abadjian. Both apartments have been furnished and specified as homes, not merely as places to rent out, so the fixtures and fittings tend to be quite stylish and luxurious. The same applies to the London flat, which is owned by Paul and wife, Fiona.

Alpaca Cottage represents all that is best about rural England, while still being easily accessible from London. Alpaca Cottage adjoins Court Barn, where Paul lives with Fiona.

Paul and Fiona lives in west Dorset, with Sophie and Guinness, mother and son Spaniels and a small herd of 13 Alpacas ! They also offer a part of this property for holiday lets (Alpaca Cottage E 15146) Paul has enjoyed collecting classic Jaguars for more years than he cares to remember, and he and Fiona have enjoyed driving them in Russia, Argentina, the US, Australia and Tasmania.

Paul Abadjian purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Paul Abadjian chose Dorchester

First of all, please read the feed back from previous guests, which perhaps says more than we can!

This is a perfect quiet rural retreat with open views across Capability Brown laid-out parkland, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Jurassic Coast.

We do take well-behaved dogs for a £25 supplement.

The cottage is stylish and practical, and we also provide a truly comprehensive file with suggestions of walks, places to visit, pub and restaurant recommendations, local history etc etc.

There are several walks (both long and short) that you can do straight from your door, so you don't have to take the car, but if the weather has gone off (that CAN happen, even in Dorset!) we have a few interesting and fun driving tours included in the file. We also have bicycles to rent, as our drive forms part of The National Cycle Path.

We are perfectly placed to explore the Jurassic Coast-a World Heritage site....just 7 miles away.

We promise you a stay you will always look back on with affection, and hope to be able to welcome you soon to Alpaca Cottage!

Alpaca Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved our short break in Frampton. The cottage is perfect for a couple and is in a beautiful location. The accommodation has been carefully designed to provide all the home comforts you need. The alpacas were a bonus.

A perfect location for a quiet break

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Alpaca Cottage for our quiet, relaxing break spent visiting family and exploring Dorset. The cottage is beautifully appointed in a peaceful rural location. What we really appreciated was that all the information and details you are shown about the cottage on the website are what you get when you stay - you get what it says on the tin! Nothing is dressed up in the photos, etc, because it doesn't need to be. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean, well-presented property with a lovely outlook in a location convenient for exploring beautiful countryside, then this is the property for you.

Our host, Paul, was so helpful before we arrived and all the time we were there - sending detailed instructions/directions, sharing excellent local knowledge, or just passing the time of day. All the information we had prior to the visit was accurate and well-thought-through, and we were supplied with great tips about places to visit, eating out and walks in the vicinity. The cottage is very comfortable with a beautifully equipped living room / kitchen / dining area (with a wonderful outlook), a lovely en suite shower room and a good-sized, comfortable bedroom. All the rooms are supplied with everything you need for your stay.

We sat outside the cottage whilst the sun shone one morning and it was so peaceful sitting there letting the world go by. We followed, and enjoyed, a couple of the walks Paul had suggested and there were lots more walks we could do on a future visit - through woods, parkland, over hills, through fields. Perfect walking country! We ate out at two of the recommended eateries and were not disappointed, and we generally explored that part of Dorset. There is much to see; delightful villages; interesting old towns; visitor attractions; beautiful coastline; sites of scientific and historical interest. We've never 'done' Dorset before and we will definitely be back. Our recommendation would be for you to stay at Alpaca Cottage and explore the hidden gems of Dorset. If you want noise, busyness, bustle and bright lights, then don't stay at Alpaca Cottage - go to Blackpool or somewhere similar. If, on the other hand, you want to recharge your batteries and enjoy solitude, peace, the delights of the countryside and a beautiful quintessentially English county whilst staying in a lovely little apartment, then this is the place for you.

Beautiful position and beautifully built and finished.

  • 5 of 5

We were made very welcome by Paul, Fiona and Jane in spite of arriving a day late and interrupting their Sunday lunch! The cottage is lovely, small but not pokey and is tastefully furnished.

Paul and Fiona have provided a wealth of useful information to suit all tastes including Ordnance survey maps and details of drives to scenic and interesting areas. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly all of which made for a super stay.
