About Judith Howarth

My husband David and I live in the UK and have a student rental property business, renting to students in Brighton and Guildford. Having spent most of our holidays in France with our children when they were younger we decided to buy our first home there in 2010 FR9145 and our second in 2014 FR22821.

We pride ourselves on giving a superior service in our property business and have many great reviews from students and holiday makers alike.

Judith Howarth purchased this villa in 2014

Why Judith Howarth chose Margon

We bought this property in this beautiful rural location simply because we love this area. The views are stunning and it is close enough to plenty of amenities to never run out of things to do.

Stunning views from a luxurious and well equipped villa

  • 5 of 5

We loved this villa! We were a family of 4 adults from 33-62 in age plus one toddler. The garden and pool area were fantastic, with loads of interesting space, and plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. I particularly loved that there were so many different seating areas in and around the villa and pool. Great for a bit of 'me' time! The villa itself was spotless and had everything you could possibly need to live as at home. The beds were extremely comfortable too. Supermarkets and shops were within easy drive as well as some nice little restaurants. There was a whole raft of information in the villa to help us choose our days out, but we particularly liked the beaches at Sete , and Pezenas, of course. Margon village was lovely and the little chateau and gardens were delightful. Only downside to this holiday were the mozzies, which were out in force day and night and we two ladies suffered horribly - but I gather it has been a bad year for them! A big thank you to the owners whose communication was exemplary.

Very well equipped villa in charming location

  • 5 of 5

Margon is a picturesque village with vineyards all around and there is plenty to see and do in the area. Pezenas is not far away with a good selection of restaurants and historic centre. We five adults had a lovely holiday which was in no small part due to the accommodation - the villa is very comfortable and well equipped and some days it was difficult to drag ourselves away from the poolside with its stunning views! Highly recommended.

Wonderful memories of Margon

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed many holidays in France over a 34 year period. The last two summers spent in this lovely villa in Margon with our family including grandchildren have been amongst the most memorable. David and Judith are so helpful and friendly and have provided everything we could have wished. Only addition perhaps would be air conditioning to deal with those very hot summer nights. Any chance David !!The views from the pool are quite stunning. We have not been able to rebook for a third year running as my husband is awaiting ankle replacement surgery very soon. However who knows hopefully 2018. How we envy those spending 2017 in Margon and wish them the happy times we enjoyed!

Fantastic holiday in this beautiful villa

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 7 ages ranging from 5 to 73 years! The villa is truly lovely, very spacious and extremely well equipped. During the heatwave the pool was a boon and the views from that area are superb. The gas barbecue was first rate and well used. David and Judith were very efficient ,friendly and helpful. Everything lived up to expectations and we have very happy memories of our stay there.

Car: necessary

The lovely long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are about 30 mins away. With Vias, Portiragnes, Serignan and Valras Plage probably being the closest.

The nearest airport is Beziers being 25-30mins away. Other nearby airports include Montpellier, Perpignan and Carcasonne all being about an hour from Margon. The TGV from Paris stops at Montpellier, Agde and Beziers. By car is easy and motorway all the way either via Lyon or the more scenic and mountainous route down through the Volcans, Cevennes etc and over the famous Millau Viaduct. Although there is a bus service into Margon we would highly recommend a car.

It is a 5 min stroll into the 2 local restaurants. The nearest village with a good selection of local shops is Roujan which is 1.5 miles away, and now has a large SuperU. The beautiful historic market town of Pezenas is 7 miles away with its narrow streets, many restaurants and bars, craft shops, boutiques, cafes, etc. It also has a fantastic Saturday market. Pezenas also has a variety of supermarkets, diy stores, garages, etc.

Further Details:

The village of Margon has a most beautiful 13th century chateau. The grounds of which are open to the public on certain days and are well worth a visit (guided tour included). The village has 2 restaurants open lunchtime and evening The Belle Lurette for informal dining and The Auberge de Chateau for more formal dining. The locale is famous for its wine and there are many Domaines where local wine can be tasted and bought. The local Chateau de Margon wine is available through Domaine D'Arjolle in Pouzolles which is a nearby village.

The area is perfect for cycling as the scenery is beautiful with its vineyards and chateaux and there are many lanes off the beaten track to explore.

The Canal du Midi is nearby and is also well worth a cycle/drive along as the there are many very picturesque villages to explore along the route.

The stunning scenery of Lac Salagou about 25 mins away is well worth a visit. It is popular for swimming, sailing and windsurfing also for walking, mountain biking and fishing. There is also kayaking available on the River Orb.

Carcasonne and Montpellier are both about 1 hr away and well worth visiting. Montpellier is the place if you want serious shopping. Carcasonne is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
