About the Owner

The owners live in England, have 2 children and 5 grandchildren all of whom enjoy visiting our house in Puysserampion where we have made many friends in the village. We enjoy playing golf, walking, cooking, reading, and being with family and friends.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear David and Susan, we have had a wonderful holiday in your beautiful home, very stylish, French and with all modern conveniences. The little touches made it all very special, making us feel like we were guests of friends rather than renting a holiday house. We had such fabulous weather which meant we spent a lot of time in your fantastic pool, with aperitifs on the terrace in the evening. Location is excellent, allowing us to visit many lovely towns and villages in this beautiful country. Thank you both.

Simply Fantastic !

  • 5 of 5

Dear David and Sue

Charles and I would like to thank you both for allowing us to have the use of your beautiful home for the past 2 weeks.

The Welcome basket on arrival was such a lovely touch and very much appreciated. We also found your notes on the area extremely useful, infact we visited most of the restaurants you recommended which were all very enjoyable.

Your home is beautifully furnished and the kitchen very well equipped and I loved the special little touches of the beautiful soaps in your bathrooms.

Your neighbours are absolutely delightful, they gave us gifts of home grown tomatoes, aubergines and grapes and we had great fun in making beautiful soups flavouring with freshly picked herbs from your garden.

We found the surrounding area very beautiful indeed. We even enjoyed watching the storm we had one evening - the thunder and lightening was just incredible !

We really hope that one day we can return to La Maison Blanche as we have had the most fantastic holiday with lots of happy memories.

With kindest regards

Laurie and Charles

JUST PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5

As we reluctantly get ready for England we reflect on what has been an excellent holiday. Relaxing, fun, good weather and great company. What a wonderful place you have - peaceful and great scenery. The house was perfect and the pool fantastic.

We have enjoyed sharing your house over the past two weeks and, although reluctant to leave, we go with happy memories of our time here. Many thanks.

Food for the soul

  • 5 of 5

This holiday has been simply perfect!

We have enjoyed the pool, the views, family runs/bike rides, games of Settlers and Scrabble, stewing fruit, and delicious BBQ’s.

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

It has been food for the soul.

Where do we begin?! AMAZING

  • 5 of 5

As the title suggests, we absolutely loved La Maison Blanche! On arrival we were blown away with the sheer beauty of the property as we were greeted by the lovely Anne who gave us the grand tour.

All of the rooms were lovely, each with their own character and very very comfortable!

This was a perfect French getaway but with all of the home comforts. The garden and pool area were fantastic and the views over the neighbouring fields and countryside were even better. This really is in such a beautiful location, so tranquil but with easy access to everything around you.

Thank you SO much for letting us share your beautiful property with you.

P.S Your notes and guidance proved to be invaluable and really helped our stay.

Thoroughly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the lovely Farmhouse in Puysserampion. The location was perfect; very quiet and peaceful yet just a short drive to the nearest village, with everything you'll need for your stay.

The house is not only beautifully presented but very well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need and we wiled away many enjoyable evenings with dinner on the veranda.

During the day, we really enjoyed lazing by the salt water pool, which has amazing views across the surrounding countryside.

Further afield we explored the producer markets, which it seems all the local towns host. The local area is covered with vineyards, which we took full advantage of, a great way to sample the authentic Dordogne!

All in all we can thoroughly recommend staying at the Farmhouse.

Location

From the Owner

We bought the house from a friend who had enjoyed and owned the house for 30 years. Its quiet and calm, (the church opposite is only rarely used, its bells don't ring!) and is immediately beguiling, guests tell us how enjoyable it is spending time with their family and friends and a wonderful contrast to the busy UK. The village is very small, a few houses, a few farms, a school and a church, relaxation is instant.

Facilities

From the Owner

Once you have flopped down and relaxed the choices of places to explore are endless. Bastide towns, cities like Bergerac and Bordeaux, excursions to the seaside at Biarritz or Arcachon. However we privately admit that quite often we enjoy our sleepy village and lazing in the garden by our pool.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Despite it's apparent small frontage this is a tardis of a house with 13 rooms in 357 sq m, pretty much on one level. It doesn't have an 'upstairs' so all rooms are well away from the roof and consequently it is a cool house which is much appreciated in the height of summer, especially at night! All bedrooms are positioned conveniently away from each other. The church opposite is used only once or twice a year. We will assume to install the pool surround fence unless specifically requested not to. Outside: There is an enormous 17m x 6m saltwater pool - maintained daily by our charming French neighbour. 6 sun loungers, small tables, sunshade by the pool. Large lawn area, orchard, outdoor covered terrace with 8 seater table & chairs and daybed. 30m rose terrace & garden bench. Small courtyard outside yellow (2 single beds) bedroom with garden bench. Gas Weber barbecue (cylinders provided). 2 Bicycles. Decorative garden furniture. Lavender and herb garden. Utility Room: In Laundry; sinks, washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, iron, airer. Towels available, replaced weekly. House cleaned once a week by our housekeeper Ann. Other: In Library; 800 books, 100 videos, 20 DVD's, WiFi, 10 games, sofa, 2 armchairs, desk & chair, table & 2 chairs
