La Mare is a Luxury 2 bedroom Penthouse Duplex Apartment, in a superb location on the headland next to the prestigious Kalkan Regency Hotel, close to the town and Seafront. The Apartment has been finished to a high standard, with marble floors throughout and has all the creature comforts to make it feel like a 'home from home'. The Master bedroom occupies the entire top floor, with a spacious bathroom including a Jacuzzi bath and walk in shower and doors leading out from the bedroom to the Roof Terrace which spoils you with breath taking views of the sea. There is a large balcony accessed from the Lounge which overlooks the sea and the beautiful sun terrace with the a circular shared pool and sun loungers with parasols. You will find it hard to drag yourself away from the Apartment and explore the many delights Kalkan has to offer

My Husband and I have been coming to Kalkan since October 2007, when we booked an apartment on a whim and stumbled across this magic place! We instantly fell in love with Kalkan and everything it offered in a holiday...The fantastic restaurants with their high quality food and welcoming atmospheres, the great variety of shops, the stunning views from wherever you are in the village, the Turkish people who are so genuine and friendly and of course the warm climate :) It was the first place we had been on holiday where we said we could go back to and possibly buy a property.....and now our wish has become a reality!

The Apartment is perfectly located, along a flat road with a gentle slope down to the Town Centre/Harbour but still near good Restaurants, Supermarkets, Banks, Chemist etc if you don't wish to walk too far. The location is easy to find being beside such a known landmark as the Kalkan Regency Hotel and is also quiet as it is at the end of the road next to the Sea.

As a family we like our space and this Apartment has plenty of space! especially on the top floor and as soon as we saw the breath taking views from the Roof Terrace and Lounge balcony, we could not refuse :)

Notes on accommodation: - All rooms are fully air-conditioned with integrated heating units for Winter lets. - All windows are fitted with mosquito nets for your comfort. - Memory foam mattresses in the Twin Bedroom. - This is strictly a non smoking apartment and no pets are allowed. - Cot, Highchair and Stair gate available. Outside: The large circular pool is set in a beautiful sun terrace with spectacular views over the sea and mountains. There is an outdoor shower, sun loungers and parasols for guests to use. The Lounge has access to the spacious wrap round balcony with a wrought iron table and chairs, Rattan sofa and a BBQ for alfresco dining. The Roof Terrace has sun loungers, a parasol and a rattan seating to use for those tranquil evenings under the stars or soaking up the rays whilst enjoying the breath taking views Utility Room: has a Washing Machine, Ironing board, Iron and Clothes Airer for you to use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning services are provided twice a week inc linen change. Bins are emptied and a general tidy each day. Bath and Beach towels are provided (saving you some space in your case for souvenirs)! There is a welcome pack on arrival.

Lovely apartment with a stunning view.

The apartment has a spacious lounge and kitchen area leading on to a balcony oveloooking the bay. The view is wonderful. It is well fitted out and very comfortable. The large double bedroom leads out on to the roof terrace and is light and airy. The smaller twin room is nicely decorated and has an adjoining bathroom.

It is an easy walk to the village from the apartment - it only takes 10 minutes. And is all downhill! It is also well placed if you want to 'stay high' and go towards Kalamar Bay instead of Kalkan village, with lots of good restaurants in that area too.

Everything you need for a perfect holiday

We had a superb holiday at La Mare in Kalkan. Our first time to Kalkan and we'd heard great things about it. It is a great destination for families with teenagers because there is so much to do - water-sports, boat trips, beach clubs, shopping, the bars and restaurants, the food! Oh my god the food!

La Mare apartment was perfect for us - very spacious inside and plenty of outside space. The air-con was very welcome as it was so hot but didn't take long for it to cool the place down. The pool was lovely with great views over the bay and no problems with overcrowding, found it very relaxing. Cleaners called in every day and we found Samet the manager to be very helpful - we got locked out one day and he was there with the keys within 10 minutes.

Crystal was very friendly and helpful when we made the booking. We would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again - definitely one of our most successful holidays.

Ticks all the boxes.

This was our first visit to Kalkan. We had heard so much about the beautiful coastal scenery and even more about the fantastic array of restaurants. We were not disappointed. It is a lovely place to unwind and enjoy some great food. All you need is the right place to stay.

La Mare is a terrific choice. Spacious, well appointed, two outside terraces, well maintained and an amazing view across the bay.

La Mare is situated at the end of an cul de sac and doesn't feel closed in by nearby properties so you do feel part of the landscape. It is a good ten minute walk to the start of the town and another five minutes down to the harbour. We appreciated the walk back after regular overindulgence at one of the excellent restaurants.

Kalkan is a top,holiday spot and La Mare ticks all the boxes.

What an amazing place to stay! I have been visiting Kalkan for 5 years and this is the best place that I can find. Great value for money, very peaceful, which is essential. It's around a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants and about the same to the beach clubs. This is an idyllic place to anyone and I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wanted a relaxing stay. The apartment was clean and had it's own water cooler which means you don't have to carry back bottles of water as it's refilled anytime you get low. You'll get a lot of property for your money with two floors and spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. The views are also breathtaking with a panoramic view over kalkan and the sea. We have booked to rent this apartment out again this year and can't wait! Purley idyllic!

Just returned from an amazing week in Kalkan. Waking up each morning to this stunning view was very special. The apartment was extremely comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you could need and more besides. It is more of a home from home kind of place and the description and photos of the apartment are very accurate. We would recommend “La Mare” and if we return to Kalkan we would definitely stay here again.

Stunning views

We have just returned from 10 days in the lovely La Mare apartment.

It was so difficult to drag ourselves away from such a fantastic apartment in one of the best locations we have found in the 12 years we have been visiting Kalkan. The accommodation is of a very high standard and the views are spectacular, we spent many a peaceful evening with a cool glass of wine enjoying the lights of Kalkan reflected in the sea below the apartment. The maintenance and cleaning service is excellent, the young cleaner even made a beautiful display of hearts and swans with folded towels it was a lovely touch.

We will be staying again.

Car: not necessary


There are many Beach Clubs all with Water Sport facilities, the nearest being a 10 min walk away, some can be reached by a free ferry from the Harbour including Kalamar, Mahal, Patara, Palm and Ibo. Kalkan has a pebble beach, which is just to side of the Harbour with plenty of sunlounges and umbrellas for hire. There are sandy beaches nearby, Patara with its endless white sands is a 20 min drive and Kapatus Bay, which can be reached by steep steps down the side of the cliff, is 10 mins drive.


Dalaman is the nearest Airport. Transfer time is approximately 90 mins. A £10 visa is required before passing through passport control on arrival and must be paid for online. Transfers and Car Hire and be booked through the Owner, however Car Hire is not essential. Kalkan is serviced by a Dolmus which can take you to many local villages/Towns and tourist sites, and the town has a great Taxi service which you can use to get around the local area.


Kas, a pretty fishing village around the coast from Kalkan is 30 mins drive.

The Sunken city of Kekova, a great day out is 1 hour by boat, bookable at the Harbour in Kalkan.

Fethiye Market, the largest in the area is 1 hour's drive

Salikent Gourge (not to be missed!) is 45 mins drive

Kalkan is full of fantastic restaurants, most of which you eat on the Roof tops over looking the Harbour and the quality of the food is second to none ranging from international cuisine to local traditional dishes. There are many shops, selling all manner of goods from local crafted ceramics, leather goods, art, fashion, rugs and carpets and excellent copies of designer goods! The currency is Turkish Lire and there are plenty of ATM's to access your cash, however most shops and restaurants take cards, so that you don't lose too much on exchange rates.
