Revel Stones is a bright cottage in the heart of the Lake District - two en-suite bedrooms, lounge/kitchen/dining area full cooking facilities. The lounge is on the upper level and the bedrooms are on the lower level. Revel Stones is situated on a quiet residential road, a few minutes from the shops, café, bars, restaurants and lake Windermere is short walk from the property where you hire a boat, take a cruise or just sit and enjoy the view. Windermere train station and bus station are a 15 minute walk away or a sort cab ride. Parking is unrestricted and plentiful in the area - all the attractions or the lake district are a short drive or bus ride away - Lake Windermere is a few minutes walk.

We are a husband and wife team, Dave is from Liverpool and I am from Birmingham. We spent many weekends and holiday in Windermere and the surrounding areas before moving here full time 11 years ago when we purchased Cambridge House guest house in the centre of Windermere. We have owned Revel Stones Apartment for 9 years and it is a beautiful little property in an perfect location - we enjoy walking and spending quality time in the Mountains, Hills & Fells of Windermere and the surrounding areas with our dog Oscar.

Lovely little cottage and exceptional value.

This is a lovely little place in Bowness and presented fantastic value when compared to other, more expensive, options. The cottage was unique and quirky in its layout but has all the facilities you'd ever need (including Sky TV and WIFI for the kids). Lovely little seating area out the back too. No complaints whatsoever.

Relaxing

The cottage was lovely and in a perfect location the only problem we had was the bed was far to soft a more firmer mattresses would be better. We had no problems parking by the cottage and its a nice quiet street would return again

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review we are sorry you found the mattress too soft, we purchased a medium mattress and put a memory foam topper. It's almost impossible to please everyone's specific needs when it comes to beds - so we buy medium which usually works well. Glad you enjoyed the cottage and the location- it would be nice to welcome you back 😀

Fantastic property, right place, well equipped and confortable

Located in the center of Bowness, just 2 minutes walk from the lake. Although the home is listed as accomodating four persons and we had originally booked for four, Deborah went out of her way and managed to accomodate all our family, made up of seven when the rest decided they want to join us. Central heated, microwave, cooker, washing machine, satellite tv and WiFi were present. Directions by Deborah were accurate. Thanks to Deborah we keep in touch daily via email with hints and problem solving for us when we needed.

Unfortunately we did not have enough time to meet face to face.

Highly recommended especially a family of four having kids. Just a minute away from restaurants and supermarkets and 5 min drive from nearest pharmacy. A major attraction nearby is the "The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction" which is a must for families with kids.Kayaking rental or mountain bikes rental is available nearby and also lake tours.

Parking nearby was not that easy but always managed to find a parking space within 100ft.(had a 9 seater van)

Good for a short break

Great location, easy walk in to Bowness to catch ferries, for shopping and restaurants.

Would certainly consider this again.

We purchased Revel Stones as we had many enquires through our guest house website about self catering for families with small children & dogs - we thought it would be a good idea to offer this facility. We decided on Revel Stones because it is an unusual property, plenty of character, in a quiet location but really close to everything. It has been refurbished to a good standard and offers the modern traveller all the comforts of home.

Revel Stones is a bright modern property, that sleeps 4-6 offering 2 bedrooms on the lower ground floor both en-suite, which is perfect - no waiting for the bathroom, you have your own. There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge for larger families. There is a washing machine and full cooking facilities. The heating system has just been fully renewed and a new Mira power shower in the en-suite. Revel stones is situated on a quiet residential street and is a few minutes walk to the shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to the lake.   • Notes on accommodation: Accommodation has two steps up to the front door and you walk into the lounge, from the back of the property there is a wooden staircase and a small patio area, due to the nature and age of the building it is not suitable or could not be adapted for wheelchairs access - the bedrooms are situated on the lower level down 1 flight of stairs and the lounge on the higher level. Outside: Front door leads onto the quiet street, back door leads out onto patio area, with bench table & chairs Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: fully cleaned for your arrival - no maid service during your stay. Linen/towels provided, but not replenished during your stay house keeping deposit of £200.00 will be required for every stay will be refunded once handed back in good order
