Ground Floor Apartment in Calahonda, Costa del Sol, Spain - Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms)

Antares De Calahonda is a tranquil urbanisation set around beautiful tropical gardens and is close to the local shops and beach.

The recently renovated ground floor apartment has two double bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a modern en-suite and there is a further modern shower room/WC adjacent to the second bedroom.

The accommodation has air conditioning and has an LCD television with Freeview UK channels and a Blu-ray player. The dining area will seat six comfortably.

The private covered terrace off the lounge area and master bedroom overlooks the pool and gardens, perfect for al fresco dining.

Amenities and the beach are a pleasant fifteen minute walk away and there is a local bar “just around the corner".

Great choice for all age groups. A beautiful free-form pool forms the center-piece of this popular complex.

Surrounded by lovely tropical gardens Antares is a much sought after destination and is visited year after year by happy returning holidaymakers

Calahonda is located on the coast only 30 minutes drive from Malaga airport in the Mijas Costa area of the Costa del Sol. It is situated between Fuengirola and Marbella, at only a 10 minute drive to Fuengirola and only 20 minutes to Marbella and Puerto Banus. Stretching from the beach to the upper slopes of the hills, Calahonda encompasses both coastal and rural life in a community with a mixture of apartments, townhouses and private villas. Calahonda is extremely well equipped with facilities and amenities and you will find everything here that a small town requires including numerous restaurants, bars and supermarkets for you to choose from. Every amenity you could need is here. Calahonda has two public taxi ranks, one located at El Zoco shopping area and the other is at Los Cipresses. Taxi’s will pick up from your property if requested by telephone. The taxi service in Mijas is centralised by one company, ensuring a safer service.

There is a modern, efficient underground railway line running from Malaga city centre, through the Airport, along the coast, through Torremolinos, Benalmadena and ending in Fuengirola. From Fuengirola you can pick up the regular bus service, again travelling along the coast through La Cala de Mijas, Calahonda, the Costa del Sol Hospital and ending in Marbella city centre. From Marbella you can change bus lines and get to La Canada shopping centre, Puerto Banus and all the way to Algeciras near Gibraltar.

Its residents are made up of both Spaniards and Expats with a mix of permanent residents and holiday makers. There is a friendly atmosphere from locals and many attractions for all the family including water parks, theme parks, zoos, golf and water sports all a short drive away.

Superb villa and wonderful owners

It was our children's first trip abroad and it was wonderful. The villa is modern and has everything we needed for a 2 weeks stay.

Most important the owners were extremely helpful and responded to my 100s of questions before we went.

We have already recommended this villa to friends and will also return ourselves.

Great outdoor areas, quiet and tranquil location. Short way to the beach.

Many good eats around the immediate area.

very good apartment fully equipped

we enjoyed our stay in this apartment. coming back to a area we know well was fun and to see the changes made in this area was good to see. we ourselves owned a apartment on this complex and it was nice to see that the gardens and pool are still well maintained. out of season this complex is a lovely place to stay quiet and peaceful.

the apartment had all the equipment for a relaxing holiday dishwasher, washing machine all new and everything was clean and easy to use. with instructions left for everything.

we would like to thank the owner for all her help with the queries we had and would recommend this apartment.

as we know the area well it was good to see that some of the restaurants we knew were still prospering. one of the things we like about this area is the excursions you can go on and visit other cities.

Fantastic time in Calahonda

The Barlow family had a fantastic time in Calahonda. We were returning to the area we have visited several times. Previously we have rented private villas so this was our first time in an apartment with a shared pool. What a fantastic experience. The apartment is not overlooked at all and the complex offers a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The children had a great time making friends and playing in the massive but super safe pool. With security gates and full time lifeguards we adults were able to relax. We met some loverly people both residents and visitors who were nearly all on repeat visits to the apartments. The apartment is tastefully furnished to a high standard with everything you could need and has a great view of the pool.The sun is on the patio all afternoon for you sun worshippers and its seconds to get into the water to cool off. If the beach is your thing, its a 5 min drive down to Luna Beach.Very clean with soft sand into shallow water. The beach bar and restaurant is worth a visit for the fish. There are several restaurants around within a 6-10 euro taxi ride. Most are recommended through trip advisor. The aqua parks are a great day out for the kids in Mijas costa and Torremolinos. Tivoli world in Benalmadena is also a great evening out for all.There is just too much to list.We are planning a return trip next year and hope we can stay in this apartment again.Viki was a pleasure to deal with and a great host. A real home from home. Just how a holiday should be. Thanks.

Highly recommend!

We're a family of five (children 5,7 and 10) from Sweden who spent an unforgettable 8 day holiday here in beautiful Calahonda.

The apartment was truly great-clean, modern and fully equipped. Quiet place and wonderful gardens ☀️

The outdoor space was absolutely beautiful and the pool FANTASTIC! Our kids spent more time under the surface than above 😉

We'd walk down to the beach most of the time, only took about 10 min.

On Royal Beach we found a "Pirate" restaurant which became our favorite restaurant. Great theme and even better food-try the chicken curry or prawns in garlic!

We had a rental car so we also made a daytrip to Ronda, beatiful mountain roads and historic city. A must see 😊

I highly recommend a stay at this apartment.

The service was great-from the first email and throughout our entire stay.

I want to wish Viki and her family the very best, and we will definately be back one day! ☀️😎

I came to Spain as a child for family holidays and fell in love with the Costa del Sol. The people are warm and friendly and the weather is generally always good. I would suggest a hire car to explore the whole area.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 35 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : 97 Bar at 0.25 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A7 at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : La Luna, beachside at 0.75 Kilometres Nearest Beach : La Luna at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended


The nearest beach is within a 15 minute walk through the local woodland park. This local 'Luna' beach is sandy with a Spanish beach bar and restaurant.


The nearest airport is Malaga and is a 30 minute drive. We would recommend a hire car to make the most of the surrounding areas but it is not essential. We can arrange a meet and greet service with an airport pickup and return if required.


The apartment is 10 minutes drive from Fuengirola. Marbella is a 20 minute drive and Puerto Banus is 30 minutes in the car.

Further Details:

The local 'Calahonda Strip' (shops and restaurants) is a 15 minute walk or a few minutes in the car. There are numerous supermarkets nearby. Details of local amenities can be provided upon request.

  • Notes on accommodation: A cot and high chair are available on request. Air conditioning is coin-operated - 1 Euro = 1 hour. Smoking is only permitted outside and ashtrays must be used. The Communal Pool has a life guard. We require a damage deposit for the apartment – £100 or €150 This deposit should be sent together with the holiday balance when it becomes due and will be returned once our agent has checked the apartment following departure. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment will be professionally cleaned before your arrival and will have fresh bed linen and towels provided. Beach towels are not provided, but can be requested at an additional cost. On changeover days we would ask you vacate the apartment by 10:00 and arrive no earlier than 14:00.
