Overview

About the property

Recently renovated barn in peaceful location near the lovely village of Hawkchurch and the coast.

The Old Milking Parlour is in the grounds of Woodhouse Farm near the main farmhouse. It has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is now a light and airy space with lovely views from decking outside. Tucked away in an exceptionally tranquil part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A perfect area to enjoy wildlife and for children to safely explore the countryside. The attraction of this area must be its lovely rolling hills, woodland, pretty lanes and its close proximity to the beautiful Jurassic coastline. The popular seaside towns of Lyme Regis and Charmouth (where there are plenty of fossils to find ) are ten minutes drive away, and the charming fishing village of beer and Branscombe approx. 20 minutes. Axminster is home to River Cottage Canteen and nearby Park Farm is the location of River Cottage HQ as featured on the television. Although Woodhouse Farm is no longer a working farm our fields are often home to a number of animals including horses and ponies, cows, rabbits and guinea pigs, and the occasional deer. Woodhouse Farm Stables are next door and can offer family and individual rides for all abilities. They also run Pony Experience Days for children wanting to learn all about pony care and do some local pony trekking!

Absolutely love it here!!

  • 5 of 5

This is the 3rd time in 14 months we have stayed at Woodhouse farm and we will back before long. A real home from home. Out in the lovely countryside yet still close to lovely Lyme as well as West Bay, Beer and Charmouth. Jo is very friendly and welcoming yet will also leave you in peace if you want to be. The milking parlour cottage is perfect with a log burner for those winter stays. Lovely walks from the place too. And woody the dog finishes off an always enjoyable stay!!

Fantastic holiay

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday at "The Milking Parlour" it is set in a beautiful location down long track over looking the countryside. The accommodation is perfectly set up and everything is catered for, it really is charming. The family who own the property were lovely, welcoming and gave us lots of local information, if you have children they will love the horses, sheep and other family pets. It is in a great central location, a short trip to the beach and lots to explore.
