The property was fantastic

  • 5 of 5

We booked Stretton House for a pre-Christmas family get together, and had very high expectations after looking at the pictures on the website. I'm pleased to say our expectations were exceeded! We had a wonderful welcome from John the housekeeper and were shown around the magnificent house. The fires were lit and the Christmas tree in the hallway, just made it seem even more magical. A lovely bag of goodies were left for us along with a bottle of champagne on ice. Each of the bedrooms were spacious with lovely bathrooms, the kitchens had everything you could need, we were able to cook fabulous 3 course meals for both of our nights stay. The whole house was absolutely spotless, no mean feat given the size of the place. Our group ranged in age from 6 weeks through to 95 years old, and everybody was well catered for. We would have no hesitation in booking Stretton House again.

Amazing house for a perfect break with friends

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing weekend we have just had at Stretton House!

John the housekeeper met us and showed us round the house, with all the log and coal fires pre lit the ambience of the house was perfect. The owner Dena had left us some thoughtful gifts in a goodie bag to help our weekend get off to a great start - thank you so much.

The house is spacious, very clean and well equipped, I can't think of anything that we required that wasn't at the house. Even with 31 of us ranging from 1 years - 50 years there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, both inside and outside the house. The kids particularly loved the games room and cinema room, and the adults loved the bar lounge and library to relax in. Great wifi throughout, which the teenagers appreciated. It was great to have 2 kitchens and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were stunning.

Apart from a couple of local walks we didn't venture far, there was no need to. We loved it so much that we have already booked to go again next year! It's highly recommended if you want to stay in a beautiful country house with a group of family and friends.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

A magnificent and spacious property, equipped, furnished and presented to the very highest standards.

Our group of families and friends, of all ages, very much appreciated the high quality extensive facilities, and the attention to detail. The children also greatly enjoyed the large games room and outdoor play spaces.

John and Dena ensured our stay was a joy, and provided us with a very warm and thoughtful welcome.

Thoroughly recommended.

Awesome

  • 5 of 5

A superb property, the pictures on the site do not do justice to the real space and decor, magnificent throughout from the large and multiple lounge area, large bedrooms with spacious

ensuites, massive dining areas and the big kitchens with almost everything at our disposal. The gardens and surrounds simply echoed the majestic property. The games rooms was separate to the property and the kids and adults loved it.

There was great attention to detail with toiletries and towels being provided for all rooms which is quite unusual in a holiday cottage. We, a group of 10 families, had a fantastic time for a friends get together. We were well received by Andy who showed us around along with a lovely welcome gift and John the house keeper was available nearby for any help.

Prior to Dena was very prompt with the joining instructions and ensured that we were well looked after. We are all thrilled with our stay and would definitely stay here again as also recommending to all our family and friends as it was truly one of the best holiday cottages in which we have stayed. It is also very reasonably priced.

Only thing missing was a swimming pool which would have made it even better but overall it was well above our expectations.

A memorable weekend in a memorable house

  • 5 of 5

Our weekend was a meet-up of old friends - 28 people across 3 generations. The first question, as we drove up to the house was one of "Would reality match the website description and photos?".

Answer: "It would exceed our expectations never mind match them."

John and Dena were waiting to show us round the living areas, the bedrooms and the two well-equipped kitchens and made themselves available throughout the weekend should we have any questions. Apart from a couple of walks we didn't venture very far. There was no need to. The grounds were extensive enough for Generation 3 to explore, to swing and to trampoline, grassy enough for Generation 2 to play football and comfortable enough for Generation 1 to sit and watch it all. And when darkness fell there was always a cinema room to relax in with log burners and coal fires to keep us warm and a games room annex thrown in.

It takes a special house to keep everyone happy - from 14 months to 65 years of age. And this is a special house. There was talk of coming back almost before we'd finished unpacking. We may very well come back.
