Overview

About the property

Cottage in Langham, Nr. Holt, North Norfolk, England - Ideal location, two miles from Blakeney and the coast in the pretty village of Langham.

Bluebell Cottage is a pretty semi-detached quaint village cottage. It even has roses round the door! Langham is close to the coast; Blakeney and Morston are two miles away, the attractive Georgian town of Holt is six miles away and Wells-Next-The-Sea is just seven miles along the coast road. Bluebell Cottage has been in the Rogers family for many years and the family also ran the village pub for over a hundred years too. You will see links to the Blubell Inn throughout the cottage! Although recently modernised, the cottage retains great traditional charm. It contains many interesting antique pieces of furniture and is very well equipped with everything one needs for a very relaxing and restful holiday. The cottage comprises a kitchen with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave, ceramic hob and oven, a dining room with table, chairs and antique Victorian armchair, a cosy sitting room with a three piece suite, antique tables, bookcase and books, TV and DVD [DVD's available], Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms [one double and one with two singles]. The bedrooms both have wardrobes and antique dressing tables. The cottage also has a downstairs loo with wash hand basin and a bathroom upstairs with loo, full sized bath and separate power shower enclosure. Both have been recently refurbished. There is an enclosed back courtyard garden, with table and benches, plus a BBQ. The cottage has steep stairs and is not suitable for young children or those with mobility difficulties. We do allow one small well behaved dog, although it must sleep in the kitchen (dog gate provided from kichen to dinng room) and must not be left in the house when you go out. Dogs are not allowed on any of the furniture and must not be allowed to go upstairs at all.

The Bluebell Pub is reopening under new ownership in February 2017 [Yippeeee!!]. The owners stress this will be a relaxed traditional pub which also provides excellent food, rather than a restaurant with a bar. See langhambluebell on Facebook.

The 'Harper', Langham's new hotel and spa, is due to open in February 2018. The bar and dining facilities will be open to non residents. There are also many excellent pubs and restaurants in the area offering a wide variety of food, from hearty bar snacks to a la carte dining. There is a wealth of things to do in the area and Langham is ideally placed in this delightful area of North Norfolk. We are always happy to answer more detailed questions about the cottage, the area and local attractions, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

About Andrew Rogers

The cottage has been in the family for over 100 years. We love the fact that our guests really enjoy staying in Bluebell Cottage and love the area as much as we do.

Andrew Rogers purchased this cottage in 1914

Why Andrew Rogers chose North Norfolk & Coast

Charming and characterful, yet homely, cosy and welcoming. We also own a large garden area to the side of the cottage [across the drive]. You are most welcome to use this garden, but younger children should be supervised.

What makes this cottage unique

Great position with Blakeney and Morston very close and Wells and Holt a short drive away. Both coast and countryside have such a lot to offer, from crabbing at Blakeney to visiting beautiful National Trust properties and land. Many wonderful walks and cycle rides in the area. Bird watching paradise all around, with Cley a particular focus. Lots and lots of lovely pubs, restaurants and cafes in the area too.

Bluebell Cottage is a warm and homely cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped Cottage with everything you could possibly need to make your holiday all that you want. The single beds were a bit bouncy for my husbands liking as he is use to a firmer bed. The owner was very helpful with lots of useful information. The location was good as it was only a few miles to the sea. I had hoped to walk to Blakeney but no foot paths along the road so was not safe to walk. The Blue Bell pub a short walk from the cottage which has good food and is also dog friendly. I would recommend Blue Bell cottage for anyone who is looking for a relaxed and comfortable place to stay. If we make it to North Norfolk again we would not hesitate to book the Cottage again.

Bluebell Cottage, Langham, Nr Blakeney

  • 5 of 5

Charming cottage, set in a brilliant position for exploring the wonderful north Norfolk coast. The cottage is so comfortable, homely and dog friendly. The little enclosed garden was a delight for all meal times, especially watching the sun rise. One of the nicest places we have stayed in. The owners couldn't have been more helpful.

A well appointed and characterful cottage in a lovely quiet village convenient for the coast

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was clean and tidy, and had everything a visitor could need. We appreciated the information folders provided, giving details of every thing a visitor could possibly want to know. The cottage is very nicely appointed and furnished in a way to suit its age and character. The parking was easy, and I enjoyed reading in the sunny garden. We really felt at home, and very comfortable. The friendly neighbour came out for a little chat one day and gave us some very useful tips about free car parks in the area. Our intention was to walk on the North Norfolk Coastal path, which we did on most days. We parked up and returned to the car at the end of our walk via the brilliant Coasthopper bus service. In addition, we spent an afternoon at Holkham Beach, visited Holkham Hall, where we enjoyed open air theatre, and visited Fellbrigg Hall. We fell in love with the Artemis cafe in Cley and the brilliant deli just opposite - eating far too many delicious treats! We were blessed by dry and sunny weather up until the final day, and really feel we saw the coastline at its best. We have returned relaxed and rested. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to friends and family. Thank you very much!

Comfortable and well equipped cottage in good location for access to North Norfolk attractions

  • 4 of 5

The cottage had all you need for a very comfortable stay and lived up to the description. It was nicely furnished in a traditional way with good bathroom and kitchen facilities and comfortable beds. Do remember towels, we'd overlooked this when booking so grateful thanks to the owner for the last minute reminder. We liked the fact it was away from the hustle and bustle but access to the north coastal villages was easy and Holt which is great for food shopping and a pleasant mooch around is also close by. The small courtyard to the rear was great for eating out, breakfast through to evening meal and the garden had lovely shade under the apple tree to read the paper or just sit quietly. The cottage sits very close to the main road through the village and at times it could be noisy particularly when lorries or farm equipment went by but we're from a very very quiet village so as a result probably noticed it more. It really is not anything to deter you from booking. Cycling from the cottage was dead easy with many delightful quiet roads and some beautiful villages to enjoy. Do check out the raw milk at Abbey Farm and the village shop 2 miles down the road in Binham. All in all would not hesitate to recommend this cottage as a place to stay.
