Overview

About the property

Cottage in Langham, Nr. Holt, North Norfolk, England - Ideal location, two miles from Blakeney and the coast in the pretty village of Langham.

Bluebell Cottage is a pretty semi-detached quaint village cottage. It even has roses round the door! Langham is close to the coast; Blakeney and Morston are two miles away, the attractive Georgian town of Holt is six miles away and Wells-Next-The-Sea is just seven miles along the coast road. Bluebell Cottage has been in the Rogers family for many years and the family also ran the village pub for over a hundred years too. You will see links to the Blubell Inn throughout the cottage! Although recently modernised, the cottage retains great traditional charm. It contains many interesting antique pieces of furniture and is very well equipped with everything one needs for a very relaxing and restful holiday. The cottage comprises a kitchen with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave, ceramic hob and oven, a dining room with table, chairs and antique Victorian armchair, a cosy sitting room with a three piece suite, antique tables, bookcase and books, TV and DVD [DVD's available], Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms [one double and one with two singles]. The bedrooms both have wardrobes and antique dressing tables. The cottage also has a downstairs loo with wash hand basin and a bathroom upstairs with loo, full sized bath and separate power shower enclosure. Both have been recently refurbished. There is an enclosed back courtyard garden, with table and benches, plus a BBQ. The cottage has steep stairs and is not suitable for young children or those with mobility difficulties. We do allow one small well behaved dog, although it must sleep in the kitchen (dog gate provided from kichen to dinng room) and must not be left in the house when you go out. Dogs are not allowed on any of the furniture and must not be allowed to go upstairs at all.

The Bluebell Pub is reopening under new ownership in February 2017 [Yippeeee!!]. The owners stress this will be a relaxed traditional pub which also provides excellent food, rather than a restaurant with a bar. See langhambluebell on Facebook.

The 'Harper', Langham's new hotel and spa, is due to open in February 2018. The bar and dining facilities will be open to non residents. There are also many excellent pubs and restaurants in the area offering a wide variety of food, from hearty bar snacks to a la carte dining. There is a wealth of things to do in the area and Langham is ideally placed in this delightful area of North Norfolk. We are always happy to answer more detailed questions about the cottage, the area and local attractions, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Why Andrew Rogers chose North Norfolk & Coast

Charming and characterful, yet homely, cosy and welcoming. We also own a large garden area to the side of the cottage [across the drive]. You are most welcome to use this garden, but younger children should be supervised.

A Holiday cottage with all you need for a relaxing break near the sea but in a peaceful village

  • 4 of 5

Great care has been taken over the contents of the cottage, which makes it "home from home". All of the information and simple instructions allowed us to settle in very quickly. The owner is only a phone call away if you have any concerns. We can also recommend the dog friendly walks and pubs listed in the area, and we added a leaflet from Sheringham which lists dog friendly beaches etc.. A visit to the "Langham Dome" was a complete surprise and certainly worth a visit. Thank you for making our holiday special. Helen & Malcolm, Warwickshire + Oscar & Bailey or course!

The cottage was beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was so comfortable and the attention to detail was exceptional. Everything worked and the cleanliness and furnishings were of a very high standard. We felt every amenity and eventuality had been thought about and provided. The location was just right: walkable to the coast but very quiet, in a lovely village. We highly recommend it and fully intend to come back.

Charming country cottage

  • 5 of 5

A lovely well appointed, traditional style cottage in the village of Langham, just two miles inland from the north Norfolk coastal villages of Morston and Blakeney. Langham has a thriving pub serving lunches and evening meals. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, a cosy sitting room and separate dining room adjacent to the kitchen. The bathroom upstairs has a separate shower, as well as bath, WC and wash basin and there is also a downstairs WC and wash basin. Lots of great country and coastal walks nearby and good access to larger seaside resorts, such as Cromer and Sheringham and near to National Trust owned Fellbrig Hall.

Comfortable, cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week in Bluebell Cottage. It has everything you need for a really comfortable stay and is in a good location to visit Wells and the surrounding beaches. Our children loved the beach at Wells, crabbing on the quayside and taking a boat trip to see the seals at Blakey Point. We had lovely weather (mostly) and will definitely be back again.

charming comfortable cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed in North Norfolk before so know the area fairly well. We found the location of Bluebell Cottage ideal to explore the surrounding coastline and towns. Wells-next-The-Sea, Holkham, Sheringham, Cromer, Holt, and Burnham Market all within easy reach. Blakeney is only a couple of miles away and is a beautiful place to visit.

The Cottage itself was big enough for a family of four (the children shared a room). Comfortable lounge, well equipped Kitchen with separate dining room. Furniture is in keeping with the age of the cottage, giving a real olde-worlde feel to the place. Small enclosed Courtyard garden which was safe for the dog to be in and a much larger garden to right with parking. The Bluebell pub/restaurant is only 2 mins walk away which we would recommend. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend the cottage to others.
