Beautiful Chalet With Stunning Views. 20 Mins To Morzine, Avoriaz & Les Gets.

Overview

Property

Updated: 04-Nov-2016
Chalet Just 20 Minutes Drive to Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets & The Massive Portes du Soleil - Traditional Savoyard Village Setting. Peaceful Yet Not Remote.

Beautifully renovated chalet with stunning views. Situated just 20 minutes drive from Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets and 5 minutes to Le Grande Terche resort. Staying here you will have the massive Portes du Soleil alpine pursuits area at your fingertips. The 650kms of interconnected resorts means you can ski the morning in France and the afternoon in Switzerland - without taking your skis off.

Situated on the slopes of the traditional Savoyard village of Seytroux, everything has been renovated to the highest standard and offers the ultimate in comfort and convenience. The chalet is arranged over 3 floors and offers beautiful high quality accommodation in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. It has been rated 5 stars by TripAdvisor.

You will need transport. Our guests use a variety of methods. Some self-drive - as do we. Others choose to arrange all their transportation (airport transfers and local taxis) with Lisa from Total Chalet Services who has excellent relationships with the local companies. The upside of this option is that you don't have to worry about staying out after skiing, overcrowded ski buses or walking half a mile with all your gear!! Lisa will arrange taxis for you even if you fancy going out one or two nights on your trip. If you are interested in the second option we can put you in touch with Lisa.

The ground floor is directly accessible to the floors above but has all the facilities for independent living. It has 2 double rooms (one with sofa bed) and one twin bedroom, a large family bathroom with bath, wc and shower. The modern kitchen has a table for 4-6 and is fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge and has a door to the outside terrace.

The middle level is a large open plan space with a modern kitchen and range. Decorated in whitewashed walls and a beautiful beamed ceiling this is a perfect space to gather after a long day on the slopes. With a massive 3 meter dining table there is plenty of space for 12 people to sit and eat at their leisure. With sofas/chairs for 12, satellite TV, games for children, a sound system and underfloor heating it is cosy, welcoming and warm. To top it all there are massive panoramic windows and balconies on 3 sides offering the beautiful mountain and valley views both day or night.

The upstairs has 3 bedrooms with beautifully restored vaulted ceilings and large trapezium windows at the front which point to the stunning Blanches Dents and Morzine/Avoriaz. The master bedroom sports a super king-size bed and benefits from a large en-suite bathroom with a stand-alone slipper bath (once you are in you'll never want to get out!!) and a double shower cubicle. There are two further bedrooms - one double and one twin - both with vaulted wooden ceilings. You also have a further family bathroom with wc and bath/shower.

In addition to the above, the chalet boasts a large boot and utility room - facilities include a wall mounted boot drier for 10 pairs of boots, a washing machine, a drier and an extra fridge freezer. Wifi is available throughout the chalet, 42" LCD TV and ipod docking stations in several rooms. Car is necessary due to location, roads are cleared of snow throughout the season.

Summer in the Mountains

The chalet stands on garden of 3/4 acre which has outside dining/terrace/sunbathing areas for the summer months when the chalet is available self catered.

In the village of Seytroux there is a riverside picnic area where you can happily spend the afternoon playing mini golf and paddling and finish the day at the restaurant where they make fantastic pizzas to order. From the chalet, there are many walks to enjoy from just half an hour stroll up the road or down to the river or for the more energetic , there are great hikes up to Les Hautes Culees and back to Malaliutaz. Ask for details of a great website detailing local walks.

Thonon-les-Bains is just half an hour drive down from the mountains to Lake Geneva where there is a fantastic swimming pool facility next to Chateau de la Ripaille (one for the grown ups where there is a 5 star restaurant) with 4 pools and a restaurant. The water is heated to 28 degrees! From the pools, you can stroll along the promenade to the marina to enjoy dinner as the sun goes down. There is a playground for the children where you can watch them as you enjoy a post dinner glass of wine at one of the many cafe terrasses.

Les Gets and Morzine are fully open during the summer months where the ski runs are transformed into a mixture of hiking and mountain biking trails. Mont Chery is a cable car lift to the top and an hours gentle stroll back to the village of Les Gets. Alternatively, you can hire bikes and equipment from the town itself. Les Gets has a swimming lake which is supervised where there is safe swimming for children, a playground, restaurant and horse riding. Morzine has a huge complex of pools, 3 indoor and 3 outdoor and a riverside treetop climbing playground and pony trekking.

Lake Montriond is a beautiful glacier lake 10-15 mins from Seytroux where you can kayak, hike, swim and eat at one of the lake restaurants.

Winter or Summer, there is plenty to do in the mountains and from Chalet Carillon, there are breathtaking views whatever the season.

There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants within striking distance. You can also arrange to have your meals delivered to your door by our chalet managers who offer a range of services directly with guests.

Winter Wonderland: "We enjoyed a fantastic week of skiing at this stunning chalet. The mountain views are stunning, particularly in the snow. In fact, you could spend hours just staring out of the window! The facilities are excellent and the chalet is beautifully decorated. The open plan layout would be lovely for a larger group. The chalet is cosy yet spacious. The beds are very comfortable. You will require a car, but the ski slopes are only a short drive away. The boot room is amazing; warm dry boots in the morning are great! We would definitely recommend for groups of any size and look forward to going back!" Jim, UK

Stunning in every direction: "We have stayed here on quite a few occasions and at many different times of the year. Whether it is for the skiing season, the summer sunshine or the autumn colours this place never disappoints. The views down both the valleys are breathtaking from your vantage point high on the hillside. There are some great summer pasture and forest walks directly from the front door. The ski resorts of Morzine and Les Gets are a 20 minute drive or the smaller resort of St Jean d'Aulps is 10 minutes away. The chalet itself is in a very quiet location. It is well equipped and has plenty of space for families or couples in its 6 bedrooms which are on the ground floor and the second floor. The living space on the first floor has a table big enough for everyone. I would not hesitate to go back." Stayalot, UK

A stunning week in Seytroux: "We had a wonderful week in Chalet Carillon in January. The view is simply breathtaking, from nearly every room. It suited our group of ten perfectly - with one family upstairs and another downstairs, with the living space between us. The beds were so comfortable, and the bathrooms luxurious. The boot warmer and drying area was perfect for our snowy boots and clothes. The kitchen was well equipped, and suited cooking meals for a large group. The big dining table meant we could all have fabulous evenings sitting eating dinner together, before we relaxed in the comfy sofas. It's the little touches that make this chalet feel like a home, it's beautifully styled. Although we were a drive from the pistes, we enjoyed the peace away from the bustle of the nearby Morzine and Les Gets. We liked it so much we came back for an early summer week, and enjoyed a whole new side. Instead of sledging in the garden, we sat outside to eat and couldn't take our eyes off the view. The garden catches the sun from early morning through to the evening, which is rare in the mountains. It was very peaceful, there are lovely walks from the chalet, and just a short drive from the beautiful Lake Montriond. We highly recommend Chalet Carillon, for both summer and winter holidays." Kate MJ UK

What a place: "This is a spectacular chalet!! Well worthy of the five stars I have given it. You'd struggle to find that standard at that value. I've not seen much better in a long time." Iron Man UK

Perfect family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were two families with a teeager and small children, total 8 for a week of skiing and walking in the snow. We were happy to stay in the confortable Chalet Carillon with 6 bedrooms and stunning views. One family slept downstairs and the other upstairs, so we lived apart together. We loved eating all together or playing games at the enormous diningtable.

The only inconveniences wer the missing curtains in some bedrooms, although back at home I miss the view when I open my eyes and the fact that you need a car to do shoppings or going skiing.

Owner's Response: We are thrilled that your party enjoyed what we consider the key features of our beautiful chalet. That is, the ability for two families to holiday together but enjoy their own space and to join together in the main living space for dining and relaxing. I agree that on return home, we always miss the vast, open and ever-changing views of the mountains from every window. We decided that shutters will be necessary for the top storey in the summer months and will add them before the summer season. Many thanks Liesbeth and we would love to welcome you again.

What a place!!

This is a spectacular chalet!! Well worthy of the five stars I have given it. You'd struggle to find that standard at that value. I've not seen much better in a long time.

We went for a week's skiing and other winter activities to keep the fitness levels up. The children skied and had a wonderful time. There was so much room and space it was really relaxing. Books, games, wifi, loads of hot water, comfortable beds, need I go on?

The interior is top class, all mod cons and everything you need is provided. Beautiful inside decor with a vast ceiling and enormous windows giving a near 360 degree view of the stunning surroundings (the location looks right down two valleys to the front and to the left, whilst the third valley on the right is still in view).

Easy access to the ski slopes and a great selection to suit all abilities. We know there is lots to do for all ages all year round. My parents had a great time with us too as there is a self contained apartment which meant they were with us but had some space when they needed it.

We are going to go back over Easter and do some walking and already planning two weeks in summer for triathlon training and sightseeing.

Book early because I can see it getting sold out very quickly once the word spreads.
