Top location! This studio apartment has it all. Beaches, golf, fishing, shopping, nightlife, historic old town. aquatic center, dolphin watching, gypsy markets all within a stones throw. Located on the main avenue (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) Beside the lively Marina de Lagos with it's cosmopolitan restaurants bars and cafes. Just behind the Marina lies the spectacular white sands of Meia Praia beach. Easy walk to all supermarkets, banks, shopping and other amenities. A choice of four golf courses nearby make it is a golfer's dream. The 5th century walled town of Lagos has many historic buildings (including some dating back to Roman times) to explore. Rent a kayak and paddle around the grottoes and sea caves, or if you're feeling really adventurous try sky diving at Lagos Aerodrome.

Excellent location but unfortunately not a great flat

We stayed at this apartment from July 24-28th and while the owner and property manager were easy to reach and deal with and the location is wonderful, there were some very basic things that we found sorrily lacking in this apartment. I have been renting apartments all over the world for 20 years or more and have a lot to compare this place to. From an aesthetics and cleanliness point of view the apartment is fine. Kitchen and bathroom fixtures are modern and well maintained. They also have basic kitchen appliances etc. Why two stars after all of this? The issue is that the place looks and feels like an investment property and as such, doesn't have things you need if you actually STAY there. For example, the bathroom, while modern has ONE spot to hang wet towels, no hooks and absolutely nowhere to put toiletries (other than the floor). For people travelling, having somewhere to put your things is a necessity, otherwise it's a nuisance. A couple of shelves, or a cabinet would REALLY help. There is also no wastebin in the bathroom. Again, just an odd thing to be missing. They also do not provide more than one roll of toilet paper! Travelling from Canada to Portugal, I did not bring any toilet paper with me. These consumables are always provided and we travelled through Spain before arriving here and indeed every place we stayed ensured we had toilet paper stock. Here, we unfortunately used the one roll and found out the hard way we'd run out. They also DO NOT provide dish soap, a sponge or dishwasher detergent, so we had to BUY this stuff if we used the kitchen (which we did). Obviously this is not something you bring with you when travelling overseas so we had to end up leaving the stuff there for the next tenants. They similarly do not provide any beach towels or beach chairs. Again, for people travelling from overseas, this would be such a nice thing to NOT have to buy and then leave behind. It is a beach area after all and in my experience, every time I've EVER rented in other beach locations, the apartment owners provide this stuff. Not mandatory of course, but makes the experience so much better. Finally, the apartment is not comfortable for sitting (unless you want to sit in a bed), the bed was as hard as sleeping on concrete and there is NO A/C. A fan yes, but no A/C so the place was always stuffy and humid. I would unfortunately NOT recommend this place. It's looks nice in the pics but there must be better apartments to rent.

Clean, Modern, Well equipped

Two other girls and me stayed in this appartement for a week , it is really well located near the marina and the town centre and Lagos is the perfect place if you want to relax and enjoy the beaches . The town is also very cute. The appartement is very modern with a super nice kitchen that has everything you could need to do nice meals. We were really happy there and it contributed to our perfect holidays . Thank you !

First time staying in Lagos. The apartment was ideally located. Beach 10 min. Shopping 5 min. Clean and well equipped apartment. No pool or communal facilities but would definitely stay here again. Recommended!!

Coast/Beach:

Meia Praia is 800m away with its vast (4km) stretch of white sands. Safe family beach offering water sports including water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling and beach volleyball. Near the fortress in town of Lagos is Praia da Batata (800m) - smaller beach with spectacular sandstone backdrop. Westwards along coast are the famous grottoes (sea caves) and small secluded beaches popular with surfers.

Travel:

Faro Airport (nearest airport) 80km. Here is a link for Airport shuttle taxi for €13.75. http://www.cheapesttaxis.com/transfers/faro/lagos.html. Car hire not necessary as apartment is close to amenities.

Distances:

Meia Praia beach 600m. Restaurants and bars 200m. Supermarkets 400m. Historic old town 800m. Bus and train stations 300m. Banks on ground floor of main building.
