We found our beautiful second home in the sun in the Inland Costa Del Sol region and it was love at first sight when we saw our lovely finca in the countryside. We're still discovering just how wonderful it is. We are captivated by the lovely mountain views and the beautiful countryside and love that the facilities are close by

What makes this villa unique

We love the convenience of having the local traditional working Spanish town only five minutes drive away, we feel it's the best of both worlds - rustic charm with facilities very close. Our garden and orchard are constantly changing and surprising us

Fantastic Villa in great location

We are just back after spending a week in this lovely villa and all 4 of us were very impressed.

The villa itself is beautiful and the surrounding grounds and pool are lovely. The area is very quiet with the occasional reassuring noises from the horses next door. It's nice not to be too isolated :) The pool in particular was great for our two 12 year olds as well as us big kids and it gets the sun until the evening making it a lovely temperature. There is a lovely shaded area near the pool to eat/relax and the villa has the essentials inside with a fridge freezer and dvd player and tv. Always nice to unwind at night with a wee taste of home (Still Game) to remind us how cold it is back home! :)

The villa is situated in a great place with it being around 30 mins drive from the airport as well as being a short drive to some great places. We visited the lovely local town of Alhaurin el Grande to stock up on shopping and dine out in the street at the well loved Bar Sardina. We also visited the picturesque Mijas and had a nice meal during the day at Alcazabar with spectacular views way down to the coast. Some of the more lively places we managed to visit that are within a fairly easy drive were Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Marbella.

A great holiday for us all and we would definitely consider returning in future :)

P.S. A car is essential.

A beautiful house in a tranquil location.

We spent a fabulous week here at the end of June. Temperatures in the high twenties and over 30c on a couple of days. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat, well maintained, clean and warm.

The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and more.

Access is very easy. No hilly tracks!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and fly screens meant you could cool down the house without resorting to air con all the time.

The gardens were absolutely fabulous.

Nearby Mijas Pueblo was a delight. The new hotel La Castillo de Monda in Monda is well worth a visit. Built on the site of an old Moorish castle, it is a luxurious oasis in an amazing location. A little bit expensive but worth it for a lovely lunch location.

You will not be disappointed if you stay in Casa la Huerta.

A little bit of heaven in lovely surroundings.

We spent a week at this lovely villa with our son, partner and grandson (16months) and we returned home relaxed & refreshed. You can never be entirely sure of any villa booking but this one really did exceed our expectations! It is in a quiet part of Andalucia with great views of the mountains and the pool was just perfect when we visited. The villa has a considerable amount of land surrounding it filled with olive & fruit trees which adds to the privacy. The villa had everything we needed and all the rooms were clean and well maintained. There were even good books to read and games to play. Our grandson toddled around very happily exploring all the gardens and visiting horses nearby. The nearest shop is a drive away so we stocked up as usual. There are very good restaurants in town and we particularly enjoyed El Fogon (steaks excellent), Casa Paco (recommend fish) and La Boma too. It's a nice drive to the coast - we went to Estepona - but really it is simply perfect unwinding at the villa and then a good evening meal out. For all of us, it was a little oasis. The owner was on hand throughout- before and during our stay - & helpful in very way . We have no hesitation in recommending this villa and in fact we hope to return. Just altogether lovely!

A bad experience.

These are the facts of our 2 weeks at this property.

1. Was listed as "wheelchair accessible", but both entry points and the dining room had 7" steps. My son who lives in his wheelchair had no holiday at all. My wife has injured her back while helping him up and down these steps (it took a total of 3 people to facilitate this).

2. Fridge was not working for the first 5 days of our stay, wasted £160 of chilled food and drink.

3. One external air conditioning unit is placed in such a dangerous place that it is potentially deadly to anyone over 5' 6" tall, due to risk f hitting one's head on a corner of the metal casing.

4. The noisiest place I have ever stayed at. Diesel engines of farm equipment during the day, barking dogs day and night and motocross bikes screaming up and down an adjacent piece of land. A real nightmare.

5. Owner texted me on day of arrival and "suggested" that we only use the heating for 2 hours during the night. Really?

6. At the end of the rental, the owner rudely accused us of damaging the property, blocking the drains, etc, etc. Maybe trying to preempt a claim for mis-describing the property as wheelchair accessible?

An experiance we will try and forget as soon as we can.

Owner's Response: We are very sorry that Mr Gilani didn't enjoy his holiday but feel that there was no more that we could have done to accommodate his previously unadvised needs, detailed here - Mr Gilani at no time prior to the holiday informed us that he was bringing a 100kg electronic wheelchair with him and checking that the house was suitably set up to accommodate it. We have ramps available on request. No request was made. The fridge problem was reported at 17:30, the maintenance man was in attendance by 10:00 the next morning. When it became clear the problem was not simple, the manufacturers engineer was called. He attended within 48 hours. After that visit and the fridge couldn't be fixed on site a replacement was delivered within 12 hours. We provided full service and attendance to the problem and it was resolved satisfactorily. The air conditioning unit mentioned is clearly marked with hazard tape and has a large plant under it to ensure no one walks under it. Mr Gilani may have moved the plant to make room for the wheelchair? We describe the property as being in rural Spain and we have never heard diesel engines nor motorcross bikes from neighbouring properties. Mr Gilani and his family used in excess of twice the amount of gas for heating the house normally used at this time of year, running the system continually at 25 degrees even when they were out of the house. The average daily temperature outside during their stay was 26 degrees. It took our cleaners 16 hours to return the villa to the condition it was when Mr Gilani took possession 2 weeks previously. We advised him that we would be withholding his security deposit to pay for bedding and towels that had been destroyed with marker pens and to repair a sink torn from its seat. All in all not a pleasurable experience having this family stay at our property and one I hope we can put behind us and learn from

Beautifully villa nestled amongst olive groves

We had a delightful stay at this villa - a perfect haven from the hustle and bustle, and a wonderful place from which to explore 'real Spain'. Everything was catered for: the property and pool were larger than expected, the accommodation was very clean and tidy, and we were only a short drive away from excellent local restaurants and facilities. There were seven of us staying at the villa, and we all came home with a lot of happy memories.

Many good supermarkets sells fresh produce as well as meats, fish, breads, snacks, cakes, drinks, alcohol & toiletries

There are also traditional Spanish panaderia's (bakeries), carniceros (butchers) and pescaderia (fish mongers) and local produce suppliers

There's a market every Thursday in Alhaurin el Grande selling varieties of products

There are many restaurants to choose from such as traditional Spanish serving fabulous tapas dishes or Menu del Dia (menu of the day) as well as a selection of international restaurants (Indian & Curry)

There's a modern Health Centre, Public Library, Theatre, Bus & Police Station
