Apartment in Alicante, Costa Blanca North, Spain - Peaceful Location, Literally One Minute´s Walk To The Beach

The property is located in a beautifully restored building next to the pedestrian Santa Faz Square. It comprises one double bedroom with ceiling fan, a loft area with twin beds and ceiling fan, a living room and a dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The living room has two balconies, a perfect view point for all the Easter Processions. The flat has high ceilings and French windows. It is on the second floor. The original staircase has been kept. Postiguet beach, the Explanada, the Rambla, the Town Hall, the Port and the lift to visit Santa Barbara Castle are literally one minute´s walk away. The Ereta Mountain Park is just behind the flat. The sea views from there are spectacular. It is also the perfect spot to explore El Barrio de Santa Cruz, near the Castle, with it´s typical white houses, plants and flowers everywhere.The property is located next to the pedestrian Santa Faz Square, in a old building from the 1920s. It comprises one double, an open area with 2 twin single beds, a living room, a kitchen and a small bathroom. The living room has two typical Spanish balconies, a perfect view point for all the Easter Processions. The flat has high ceilings and French windows. It is on the second floor. There are a few stairs but nothing you cant do if you are a little fit!.

Great Location

We were devastated that we had to miss a couple of days of the start of our trip, but Marta and David were very understanding and rearranged meeting up with us - which helped make up for the lost time. They were also generous about our leaving time, which gave us another afternoon to laze on the beach and get a fabulous long lunch, coffee and amazing artisan ice cream before catching the bus to the airport. The apartment was calm and peaceful, but just a short walk away from the beach, the Esplanana, great places to eat and drink and tram and bus stops to explore the coast. Great if you want to pack in as much as possible on your stay and love ambling along the lovely streets in the old town.

Alicante Old Town apartment

The apartment is well maintained and is in the perfect location for exploring Alicante and near to the beach and restaurants. The main market is only a 5 minute walk away and the quality and selection of the fresh produce is amazing.

Unfortunately there was no ceiling fans as advertised but the floor fans were adequate. Also there's confusion regarding the 'loft' area. It was more like a large alcove.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to explore Alicante. As I said earlier, the location is perfect but we went in July and even the locals said it was almost too hot.

Fabulous city centre apartment

Location is perfect: right in the middle of the restaurants and bars, but in a quiet part of the city centre. 5 mins walk to the beach and Mercardo tram stop.

Apartment is extremely well equipped with everything you need for your stay (even beach parasol and bats/ball). We cooked several meals here with the beautiful, fresh produce from the market and felt right at home. David and Marta provided all the details we needed before our stay and David even waited to greet us after our flight was delayed: that’s service! Spain ‘suffered’ a heatwave during our stay, so air conditioning would have been nice, however the fans within the flat kept us cool and airy. There is a newish Carrefour supermarket on the Town Hall, so you never have to stray very far for supplies.

We had a great time and will definitely stay here again on our travels to Alicante.

Pleasant apartment in super location

The apartment is in a little side street off the square and does not overlook the plaza, however it is also very private. Inside it is airy and light and pleasantly decorated with a good kitchen and powerful shower in the bathroom.

A few very minor issues which Marta & David are looking at, but nothing that would stop us visiting or recommending it to friends.

The best feature is the location, you can literally walk everywhere in 10 minutes. loads of bars and restaurants from high end to tiny tapas bars, churches, museums etc. However when we were there the weather was superb, so we went to the beach every day, again 10 minutes stroll (so long as you don't stop for a drink)

Perfect apartment in a wonderful City

Apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed. Fabulous location with restuarants and shops nearby. Marta and David are lovely people and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Our first stay in Alicante and will definately be back. Absolutely fantastic holiday.

Location

This property was bought because it has a perfect location in a lovely little pedestrian Plaza and because of the very laid-back atmosphere at the barrio.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Although we don´t provide any courses, please don´t hesitate to contact me for any kind of course (Spanish or cookery) you might want to take during your stay and I will find it for you!

Coast/Beach:

A minute´s walk from sandy Postiguet beach, fully equipped with benches, palm trees, sunshades, sunbeds and beach bars.

15 minutes by tram from huge and sandy San Juan beach and undeveloped beach coves of Cabo Huertas, perfect for snorkelling.

Other nice beach areas (Villajoyosa, Denia, Calpe) can be reached by tram.

Travel:

15 minutes taxi ride from Alicante airport.

The reliable airport C6 bus stop (Plaza del Mar) is a minute´s walk from the flat and it runs every 20 minutes between 6.30 am and 22.30 pm.

Car hire is not really necessary.

Distances:

The new tram line takes you up the Alicante coast line as fas ar Denia.

The Mercado Central tram stop is a three minute´s walk away from the apartment.

Recommended places for a day trip are Villajoyosa, with it´s colourful houses, El Campello, a charming fishing village, Altea or Calpe.

Tabarca island is also a perfect day out to so some snorkelling. The ferry is a 3 minute´s walk from the apartment.

The botanical gardens in Elche are highly recommended.

Further Details:

Local shops, bars and restaurants where to have dinner al fresco, banks, hospital and the police station are right next to the apartment.
