Lovely quiet spot
About the Owner
After moving to Aberporth and Parc Llwyd in 2000 I am still being astounded by the beauty of the area. Being able to see visitors discovering the countryside and enjoy themselves is very rewarding. Parc Llwyd itself is a splendid place to live with a lot of wildlife on site.

Lovely quiet spot
We are a family of 4 and this cottage suited us exactly. It is in a lovely quiet spot, but only a few minutes walk from the beach. There are great walks to be had. The cottage is well furnished (the beds are very comfy) and the kitchen is adequately equipped. The owner (Frances) is very helpful and made our stay memorable.
Perfect location for Aberporth and the Coast Path
This is our 2nd stay at the cottage and now our sons are a bit older the walk down to the beach seems even easier. If you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay. There is easy access to the Coast Path. We walked in either direction and enjoyed many beaches along the way. We walked directly from the cottage to Mwnt, which is a beautiful walk. Took us 3 hours with two children aged 6 and 7, but we set off early and had plenty of time on the beautiful beach at Mwnt, climbed Foel Y Mwnt and enjoyed the walk back. The coast path the other way is more popular as there are several beaches along the way. The first part of the coast path from Aberporth to Tresaith is inclusive access, so very level. If the tide is out you can get along the beach from Tresaith to NT Penbryn beach which is a large sandy beach, and if the tide is in you can head up onto the coast path. Beyond Penbryn is a nice "secret beach" A path takes you to it but the last bit is a scamble - well worth it though - I swam quite safely in the cove. The next beach along is Lllangrannog which is very popular. There is another beautiful beach just beyond it - accessible if the tide is out, otherwise you take the coast path. We were lucky with the weather and had a few days on the beach at Aberporth - we just walked down from the cottage with all our gear, which included an inflatable boat and spent the day on the beach - fantastic. Cardigan is only a short drive away, as in Newquay in the opposite direction. The quiet hamlet of Cymytydu is also worth a visit - this is a pebble beach but very quiet and only costs £1 to park for the day. We parked at Newquay and walked to Cymytydu along the coast path, and once again there is another very quiet beach along the way. Newquay is great too and if the tide is out the walk from Newquay to Cei bach beach is very relaxing. Best place to eat out is the Celtic at Aberaeron. We found the cottage comfortable - hot water in plentiful supply, kitchen nicely stocked and we did notice the addition of double glazed windows in the bedroom and kitchen. There is a selection of books and a few games for children to enjoy. The cottage is also very reasonably priced compared to other properties in the area and the owner is very accommodating. We will definitely be back.
The property is in a fabulous location
The cottage is in a quiet countryside location and just 10minute walk down to the seaside, shops, pub and park. The cottage is basic but comfy. The beds are lovely. The garden is lovely to sit in with a drink or a meal. The owner welcomed us on arrival and provided the requested towels. We love Aberporth beach and would recommend visiting Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park. Would be great if the cottage had the relevant OS map and maybe details of the local 'Poetry Walk'.
Barn Cottage was peaceful, surrounded by countryside and within 10 minutes walking distance of Aberporth beach and the coast path. We managed to walk directly from the cottage to the beach, with two small children, and carrying all our beach gear, down a quiet residential street. We only used our car once all holiday for a trip to Cardigan. Aberporth beach was fantastic for swimming, boating and for the kids building dams and sandcastles. We also did some lovely coastal walks to Tresaith Beach, Penbryn Beach and Llanbedrog, so again did not use our car for this. The cottage itself was ideal as it had all we needed. For two adults and two children it was ideal as there was plenty of space for the children to play in. The kitchen was well stocked, and the boiler easy to set, so that water was heated enough to run a bath for the children and adults to have a shower after a long day at the beach. We were lucky with the weather and are the out and about types. My only reason for not giving a 5 star rating is that I'd not be sure about it in bad weather, as windows are single glazed, and TV is not great, but it is perfect for summer use, definitely. The main selling point is its great location - quiet and peaceful but still fairly close to the access routes for Cardigan, and within walking distance of Aberporth beach, and also the local shops are within a 10 minute walk too. WeE will definitely return. It is excellent value for money.
