About the Owner

Les Richards has been in our family for many generations. In 2013 Isabelle took on the baton and breathed fresh life into this wonderful stone farmhouse. The last 12 months has seen the complete renovation of the property and whilst retaining many original features Isabelle has created a bright airy contemporary feel.

We look forward to welcoming you to our house and helping you to discover our beautiful region; the vineyards and the cuisine.

Beautiful house, extensive grounds

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully renovated / fitted out property, with very large garden area around it (bordered by vineyards). If anything it is even nicer than it looks in the photos. Our children (5 and 2) really loved the (fairly small but perfectly formed and well-heated) pool, croquet, petanque or just looking at the wild flowers, or watching the falcon that lives around the property.

The owners were very very helpful - for example they bought a brand new parasol as one of the old ones didn't quite work properly, and Mme Maury, the owner's mother, took us out one day for a tour around the wine-producing area that the family used to farm.

Fantastic Property - Incredibly Well Equipped

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Richards. The house is immaculate and very tastefully decorated, and the garden and pool area are outstanding. It looks even nicer than the photographs suggest. The house is very well equipped - there's a huge TV with satellite channels, Wifi, a modern kitchen, utility room, four large bedrooms, two large shower rooms, a games room with pool table, several patio areas, a pentanque court, nice swimming pool and huge, well maintained grounds. The house is set in the middle of its own grounds and so we were not overlooked or disturbed. It is a ten minute cycle (bikes were provided) to the nearest bakery, and a five minute drive to the nearest large town. The owner, Isabelle, was very helpful and gave us wine and products from the garden upon arrival. Her father visited the house early every morning (without disturbing us) to clean the pool and tend to the gardens. We visited as a party of two families and we found that we had plenty of space. We can recommend Les Richards without hesitation!

Further Details:

The Pays Foyen provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food. St Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for those who wish to sample and perhaps take home some very fine wines. The Lac de Gurson is one of several nearby lakes offering a beach, children’s play area, nature trail, restaurant and snacks, a good day out. Activities nearby include horse riding, bike riding, kayaking, fishing and a restaurant. The climate - being right down in the South-West of France, the sun is much higher in the sky all year round. We get lots of sunshine throughout the year, and just enough rain to keep the garden lush and pleasant. Spring comes early and temperatures can be in the 20's from March onwards, peaking at 36 last August, when, thankfully, the pool will keep you cool. Autumn, which is beautiful, can stay warm in the day, but with cooler nights. We aim to provide a relaxing environment in which you can unwind and have a quality holiday.
