The main bedroom has a double bed, and leading off, the 2nd bedroom has twin beds and a travel cot is available. A child's Z-bed is also available on request, also child safety gates. The family bathroom has bath/shower over, washbasin and wc, electric shaver point and extractor fan. There is a modern beamed kitchen/diner with ceramic hob, electric fan oven, fridge freezer, microwave and electric toaster, and a wooden dining table and benches. There is an ironingboard/iron, vacuum cleaner and barbecue tools in the rear lobby. and in autumn/winter coal and wood for guests' use is stored here. The beamed living room has sofas/armchairs, Freeview digital TV, DVD player, stereo music centre for radio/CD/cassette tapes, and an open working fireplace. Books, maps and guidebooks/leaflets are provided and children's toys/puzzles.
Our 2 adjoining 19th century farmworkers' cottages are traditional in style and character, with exposed beams. Sitting rooms, kitchens and bathrooms are on the ground floor and double and twin bedrooms upstairs. Each cottage has its own garden at the rear and private parking space at the front. The cottages are in a row of 5 similar properties, in a quiet lane which is used only by these occupants, leading to a farm gate at one end and the road through the village, with large duckpond, at the other. There is a good pub/restaurant just minutes walk away in the village and the nearest general stores is 2 miles.
We are John and Alyson, with cats Fluffy and Meiko, and we have been visiting North Norfolk for many years. We are semi-retired and love having more time now to escape to Stanhoe, a pretty, traditional village with its lovely duckpond and farmland. We have a large family, now with their own children, who also stay at the cottages from time to time.

We fell in love with North Norfolk for its beautiful countryside, beaches and tranquillity and we'd love you to share it too. Our traditional, beamed 19th century farmworkers cottages are set in a quiet lane ending at a gate to a field, so no traffic passes the front door, and far-reaching views over adjoining farmland add to the countryside peace and quiet. But we are not remote from enjoying the many facilities the area has to offer.
There are many villages to explore, nature trails to follow, and a whole coastal area of unspoilt sandy beaches -the nearest beach is just 10 mins drive through the country lanes. Add to that family attractions, stately homes and gardens, scenic walks, nature reserves all within close proximity, a log fire in the winter and a pub/restaurant 2 minutes walk away!
Changeover day: Saturday
Booking is by email/telephone, £50 non-refundable deposit with booking form, balance payable 4 weeks before arrival. Full payment due immediately for bookings less than 6 weeks before arrival. Final details sent on clearance of balance. Cheques/BACS transfers acceptable, credit cards not taken. Charges for pets, and towels(Grape Cottage only) must be added to final balance.
Changeover day Saturday. Arrival 4pm by arrangement, departure by 10am.
