About the host

Host profile image
We live in Oxford and have owned the property for many years. In a former life it was a forge and we converted into a domestic property in 2003.

It is our second home and we and are family go down to the house as much as we can. Therefore you will find it as a home from home. Most of our visitors return year after year and have commented 'we are home' as they turn into the drive.

Why they chose this property

St Keverne is on the Lizard Peninsula, it is a wonderfully friendly village with two pubs, a restaurant and just up the road is Roskilly's Farm for meals, snacks and their home made ice cream and clotted cream. The Lizard Peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty and much of the coast is National Trust. A must is a pasty at Lizard point the most southerly tip of Britain and a visit to the renowned Kynance Cove.

There are so many unspoilt coves, walks and villages to explore and you will always find somewhere to tempt you back again. In fact after many years they have been filming in the area for the new Poldark series.

What makes this property unique

The property is about 1/4 mile from the coast path and a 5 minute drive or a walk across the fields to the sandy beach of Coverack. There are buses which go from the village to nearby towns and the nearest railway stations are in Redruth & Falmouth. In the village there is a paper shop selling everything, a general store and a post office and in Helston there is a a large Tesco and Sainsburys, so although you can feel away from it all you still have the modern conveniences near at hand.
