Available for holiday lettings, The Garden Studio is a comfortable newly furnished Scandinavian-style studio in the centre of a lovely Oxfordshire village, set in an idyllic garden setting.
The garden is south-facing and private with mature fruit trees and gently rambling roses. There is a secluded patio with an elegant table and chairs, perfect for a croissant and coffee at the start of the day.
Longworth itself itself is a pretty, peaceful little village within a stone's throw of the River Thames and its Thames Path. It has warm stone buildings, Cotswold stone walls and a great local pub, well known for its log fires, rugby team, good food and real ale. A perfect base for exploring the countryside, sightseeing and relaxing. Our quiet local roads, footpaths and bridleways are popular with cyclists, walkers and horse riders.
Just 15 minutes drive from the world-renowned University City of Oxford there is something for everyone, from parks and gardens, museums and galleries, secluded college quadrangles and glimpses of famous places from TV and film.
Towels and linen included.
Free WiFi access.
True Longworth locals. We have loved the village pub, wonderful walks along the River Thames and our close proximity to Oxford for at least thirty years.
Ellis Auckland purchased this cottage in 2014
For access to Oxford and the Cotswolds we found this accommodation perfect. Neither could you ask for a more accommodating and delightful couple than Ellis and Eric, the owners. They were always on hand to supply whatever little extras were needed and never longer than the next morning. We have never been so pampered and cared for. Indeed the whole arrangement was so wonderful that I was heart broken to leave. The bed … oh the bed – you have never slept in a more comfortable bed. Then there’s the power shower – you won’t want to come out. Breakfast outside in the orchard – now that’s a real holiday.
With extraordinary ease we visited Witney with the buttercross, Burford for the church of John the Baptist. Look for the skeleton under the tomb and the plaque for the Levellers shot against the wall. Shilton is gorgeous with the ford and the Rose and Crown serves delicious meals from 12.00. I had liver and bacon. Bampton has something better than a fixation on Downton Abbey. The butcher sells their own delicious pork pies. We went back again just for them and nice cooked ham. Upper Slaughter has nothing to brag about but Lower Slaughter is out of this world with the stream, ford and mill. In Moreton in Marsh read all the market tolls.
I’ve stayed in this lovely cottage a couple of times to take in cycling routes around the area. It’s a fantastic location to get out on your bike, the location is peaceful and the local pub serves really nice food. If you’re after a relaxing break with great hospitality, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday in this peaceful property. The food in the village pub was very good & the property was in an ideal position for exploring the area.
For making us feel welcome in your lovely cottage. This holiday was just what we needed to relax. Fantastic, quiet little village and great pub and country side walks. Highly recommend.
