A central location for Longleat, Stonehenge, Stourhead, and the beautiful cities of Bath and Salisbury. Fantastically light and spacious, totally private. Country side walks from the barn into the Blackmore Vale and across Dorset downland. Compton Abbas Airfiled with restaurant and tea rooms, within hiking distance or a short drive. Within a 40 minute drive you will find sandy blue flag beaches or the world renowned rocky Jurassic coastline.

Gorgeous property in a beautiful setting.

The Piggeries is a lovely spacious barn set in a stunning setting. Beautiful views and so peaceful. We were staying with our grandsons and it was ideal for toddlers, being all on one level. We really appreciated all the extra ' baby stuff' especially the double buggy!! They also loved the toys and games in the safe garden. The Piggeries is ideally situated to explore the beautiful Dorset countryside. A trip to Longleat is well worth it ( especially if you have Tesco vouchers!! ). We also enjoyed exploring Shaftesbury, Old Wardour Castle , Stourhead and Sherborne. Good food at the local pub and lots of footpaths to explore in the surrounding countryside. We hope to come back!!

We stayed for a week at this beautiful conversion. There were 5 adults and 2 children, and it was perfect for us. The grounds were awesome, and the kids made the most of the space. The facilities were 10/10, as was the cleanliness, we could not fault it. Thank you Sam!

The Beautiful Piggeries

My self and a group of friends (8 adults) stayed in the Piggeries for a long weekend in June 2015. It was the perfect location and accommodation to chill out and relax with friends. The place was very clean and had everything we required to cook for 8 and enjoy a BBQ overlooking the beautiful countryside.

If I was going over to Shaftsbury again I would definitely opt for another stay at the Piggeries.

Great New Year week

We were 7 adults, one of whom was a wheel chair user and have just had a great week at the Piggeries. The Barn is in a beautiful, quiet location with amazing views. The layout of the property was excellent and spacious and it was great that we all had our own bathroom facilities. Everything about the barn was 'quality' from the bedding, the beds, the bathrooms, the furniture and kitchen equipment. The barn was spotlessly clean on arrival. It was incredibly warm and cosy during some cold crisp sunny days. Sam was incredibly helpful the whole time we were there and was happy to communicate through text or phone calls when we asked for advice or information regarding the area. Knowing one of our party was in a wheelchair Sam had gone to the trouble of providing a ramp to help with access. While we didn't have any grandchildren with us we thought it would be a great place to return with them as Sam had provided a range of toys to play with and the outdoor areas looked like a real childs haven. The Piggeries was well placed for Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Shaftesbury and several National Trust places which we visited.

At the end of our week we all said we would like to return with family or friends in the summer months.

A beautiful place to stay

We stayed for two weeks at this lovely barn in June/July and could well have stayed longer! There were six of us, (two adults and four active boys) but there was plenty of room and a great outside space to explore. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with some gorgeous local walks, and village pubs along the way.

Sam was a wonderful host and did everything to make our stay comfortable. She went out of her way to make sure we had all we needed and we would love to return one day. Highly recommended.

The perfick Piggeries

Our family stayed for a long weekend at this wonderful barn near Dorchester. Beautifully appointed in the heart of the Dorset countryside,close to the picturesque village of Fontwell Magna.

The accommodation was very well equipped, tastefully furnished to a very high standard and really comfortable - perfect for the relaxing stay that we sought.

Ideal for children and the elderly, central for many attractions. Highly recommended - we will be back!
