Guestbook comments from the manager

We stayed here over the Christmas period for an 80th birthday celebration. Our party consisted of young children, teenagers and elderly parents. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming. There were decorations and a tree already put up, logs and kindling for the fire and a welcome pack when we arrived. The house itself is lovely, the housekeeper is extremely friendly and helpful - we had a wonderful time there. The village is peaceful and the nearby facilities are excellent. We fully intend to book this property again and I would recommend it highly (Dec 2013)

-------

A great location to explore the Isle of W. The local pub is within walking distance and serves really good food. All amenities you could want! Really comfortable beds and a great little courtyard garden to enjoy some al fresco dining. Would highly recommend. There is also space for two cars

-----

The owner has thought of everything you might need. The patio created a sunny spot for breakfast. Recommend it highly.

Beautiful cottage, really well kept and in a lovely location. Everything we needed and the wine and chocolate biscuits were very much appreciated.

Perfect family stay

Well kept cottage, spacious, comfortable and full of character. Brought two lively boys and had a great break on Isle of Wight. Highlight was fishing trip from Yarmouth.

Lovely cottage for relaxing by the open fire.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is surprisingly spacious and easily accommodated four adults and two teenagers.

It's in easy reach of great deserted beaches, lots of local attractions and plenty of good walking.

We really enjoyed long relaxing evenings in front of the fire.

Those who manage and look after the cottage were very helpful and I would recommend it heartily.

Small but perfectly proportioned

  • 5 of 5

A gorgeous little cottage in Whitwell, we stayed here with my mother and 18 month old daughter and loved it. Everything you could need from a holiday property, very handy location for the best bits of the island. Would happily go back.

Comfy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Warm welcome. Milk, wine, biscuits etc were a treat. Courtyard ample for sitting in sun. Beds were comfy. Hot shower. Instant heater in bathroom was good for chilly times. Kitchen was fully equipped. Enjoyed exploring the island with the dog. Would recommend the cottage. Only point is the staircase is quite steep if mobility is a problem.

Tranquil Family Stay

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of four staying in this lovely cottage over Easter. The facilities are excellent and as other user reviewers have mentioned it is homely and well equipped. We enjoyed making a log fire; all the logs and fire lighters were provided. The cottage is set away from the road and is extremely quiet, we even managed to sleep through the storm that recorded winds of 105 mph at the Needles. The beds are comfortable and the children took advantage of the games that are available; Isle of Wight monopoly no less. The Isle of Wight is a great place for a family break and we prefer this south part of the Island; the walk down to Steephill Cove is a great find ( this is just up from Ventnor beach). Highly recommended.
