South Facing House in Penzance, close to Town Centre - Peaceful location within Penzance Town Centre and the Seafront is just a stroll away

A friendly house, very much a home, decorated with artistic and interesting objects, quirky! There are two large, sunny bay windows on both the ground and first floor that make you want to curl up with your favourite book and cup of coffee or even a glass of wine. Downstairs the house has a light and airy feel with an open plan living area. There is a door leading to the newly designed kitchen that in turn opens onto the enclosed garden area. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms, with separate shower cubicles within them. One of the bathrooms also has a bath. As there are gardens both front and back, this allows you to enjoy the sunshine throughout the day. Being close to the centre of town, you can easily take advantage of the local restaurants and pubs by wandering down the road,leaving your car safely parked in a private road opposite the house. You can also enjoy the eclectic mix of Penzance shops being a short walk away. Not forgetting our weekly Farmers Market or missing the opportunity to sample our famous Cornish pasties, saffron buns and very delicious cream teas. The house is well positioned to explore and enjoy the whole of the Lands End Peninsular.

A lovely base for a holiday

This was an ideal base for us; we came down to Penzance on the train from London, and were able to do everything that we wanted on foot, train, or public transport. Particularly good was the open-topped bus to Porthcurno and Lands End.The house was lovely - bright and sunny, with everything we needed, and our 2 grandsons loved being up in 'the attic'! It was convenient for shops and restaurants too. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

A really pretty house in a great location

This is a really pretty house with such attention to detail. It is in a great location for Penzance centre with the shops only 2 minutes walk away.

It is lovely to sit in the bay windows with a cup of tea and a good book and getting out and about is easy. The train station is a 15 minute walk and this takes you to St Ives. Lands End is also only a short drive away. The owner is very helpful with lots of local knowledge. You can relax in for the day or get out and about.

A HIDDEN GEM

Hidden down a pretty cul-de-sac in the heart of Penzance, this three story house is extremely comfortable and well equipped for a family holiday. The house has spacious sunny rooms with a small garden to the front and a patio to the rear, ideal for BBQ's.

Penzance has lots of good restaurants and pubs for eating out and there are excellent walks and beaches to explore all around the south Cornwall peninsula.

I have no hesitation in recommending this value for money holiday home.

Lovely house

This is a lovely house with plenty of room for 6 adults

The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a lovely garden at both the back and the front of the house - plenty of sunshine

Excellent choice

Lovely house - very comfortable, clean, well equipped and an excellent location from which to explore the area including St Ives, Sennen Bay, Mousehole, St Michaels Mount - all within easy distance. The parking in front of the house is a bit of a squeeze - but manageable. The fabulous Jubilee Pool in Penzance was still shut during our stay - awaiting restoration following the storm damage, so it might be worth checking how this work is progressing if it's something you're hoping to make use of during your stay.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are many fantastic beaches on the north and south coasts within a radius of 2 to 10 miles. 5 to 30 minute drive. Some of the sandy beaches have life guards making them safe for families, others are fantastic for surfing and body boarding, while more open ones are great for wind surfing. The coastal footpaths around these beaches provide amazing walks too!

Travel:

The Scillonian ferry is a 12 minute walk, the bus and train station is a 10 minute walk. The Skybus to the Scilly Isles has a terminal at St Just Airfield which is a 15 minute drive. Newquay airport is 45 minutes drive.

Distances:

St Michaels Mount and the sandy beaches of Marazion are close by. The rugged North Coast, includes St Ives, is 7 miles away. Lands End and the famous Minack Theatre are 7/8 miles away. The idyllic beaches of the South Coast are a similar distance away. The Eden Project is an hours drive away but well worth the effort.

Further Details:

There is a gym and a leisure centre in Penzance along with the art deco Lido swimming pool filled with fresh sea water. Surf lessons can be booked at both St Ives and Sennen, 20 minutes drive away, (wet suits and boards can be hired). Go-Karting and Pitch and Putt are both near St Erth, Hayle, 15-20 minutes drive away. A walk over the Causeway and boat trip back to St Michael's Mount and a climb up to visit the castle is only a 10 minute drive, or alternatively a possible walk by the sea to it from the house. There are many Ancient sites in the area including quoits, fugous and megaliths; also 2 Iron Age villages, Chysauster and Carn Euny. The World Heritage old tin mine work site near Pendeen and the Communications Museum at Porthcurno are both places of interest. There are many large supermarkets close by: Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidel and The Co-Op. A greengrocer, butcher, baker and deli are just minutes walk away.
