Villa 'Bel Air' in Carcès, near Lorgues, Provence, France - Quiet And Secluded Position, 5 Minutes Walk To The Village With Direct Access To Scenic Countryside

Located in the medieval village of Carcès in the heart of the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France, "Bel Air" offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for 12 persons in two apartments each coverine a seperate floor of the villa. Each floor has 3 large bedrooms, a bathroom, a WC, a spacious, modern and well-equipped fitted kitchen and a generously proportioned and comfortable living room. The living rooms open through large French doors onto the garden and pool area and the village and river valley below. Secluded though it is, Bel Air is just five minutes walking distance of the village centre with all its amenities; shops, cafés, bars and restaurants and its weekly 'Marché Provençal'. The villa's grounds open onto a small and charming water irrigation channel or 'canal' from where one can either take a short-cut to access the village or in the other direction one can follow the canal path out of the village towards towards the nearby 11th century chapel of Notre Dame de Carami. From there a recognised touristic trail leads on to the scenic Lac de Carcès with its fishing and biking and hiking trails. So whether its, lounging by the pool, leisurely countryside walks or strolling into town for a glass of chilled rosé or a meal, Bel Air is excellently positioned for it all. Looking further afield, the village is ideally located at the crossroads of some of the region's most highly regarded villages of Cotignac, Lorgues and Entrecasteaux to name but three all within a 9miles radius. The lac de Carcès is a key feature of the area for fishing, hiking and biking. The beaches of Saint-Raphaël, Sainte-Maxime and Saint Tropez are only 40 mins away whilst other popular tourist attractions are the following distances: Aix-en-Provence 45 miles, Nice 70 miles, Saint Tropez 37 miles. The reknown golf course at Barbaroux Golf Club is about 10 miles distant. Lastly there's an Intermarche supermarket situated just half mile away.

A great spot for a family holiday

We had a wonderful holiday last year in this villa. The property was clean and more than adequately equipped. The gardens were lovely. The pool is on the small side but was great to cool down on those long, sunny days. We were really taken with Carces. In particular a fantastic little restaurant called L'oi qui boit which is very close to the villa. If you aren't there to swim lengths then this villa has everything most families could want. The owner, Catherine was charming and communication was excellent before and after our visit. Carces is also very close to many great towns on the coast, such as Sainte Maxime, Nice and Cannes. A great spot for staying put or exploring. Thanks for the great stay.

We particularly love living in this part of Provence because it offers the best of both worlds; its proximity to the excellent beaches and the sophistication of towns such as Saint Tropez, Nice, Cannes and Aix-en-Provence while still being able to enjoy living in real unspoilt rural Provence with all of its charms. Since moving to Provence, we have never looked back!

Coast/Beach:

Various distances to lakes and beaches: Lac de Carcès is about 2 miles, the nearest beach of Sainte Maxime is 34 miles, the Lac de Sainte Croix is 27 miles and Saint Tropez is about 36 miles away.

Travel:

1h15 mins drive to Nice Airport, 1h drive to Marseille Airport, 1h drive to Aix TGV train station, 35 mins drive to Les Arcs TGV train Station.

30 mins drive to the A8 motorway entrance.

Distances:

Local: Village centre - 5 minutes walk and also around 5 minutes walk to nearest supermarket.

Neighbouring villages: 5 miles to Entrecasteux, 5 miles to Cotignac, 10 miles to Lorgues and 27 miles to the Lac de Sainte-Croix.

Further afield: 37 miles to Saint Tropez, 44 miles to Aix en Provence, 63 miles to Marseilles and 73 miles to Nice.

Further Details:

There are numerous local restaurants, cafés, banks, supermarket and local food market all within short walking distance from the property.

  • Notes on accommodation: Children of all ages are welcome to stay in the house. However, certain areas outside the house may require extra attentiveness and supervision by parents. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the house. Responsible smoking is allowed outside the house. Outside: The villa is accessed via a private driveway leading to a large gravelled area with large mature palm trees in front of the villa with sufficient parking for at least three cars. There is a large garden with private 5m x 5m pool which is accessed via 'Roman steps' and pool security is provided by iron railings and gate. There are several terraces (covered and open) and an area for playing boules. Sun-loungers, parasols, chairs and cushions are all provided. Outside dining table and chairs allow you to dine 'al fresco' throughout the summer! Utility Room: Washing machine, iron and ironing board. Washing machine in kitchen or utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. The property is cleaned before and after your stay, extra cleaning available on request (chargeable).
