About Martin Watton

My wife and I have owned this stunning Villa in the much sort after town of Denia for over 10 years, and have enjoyed many peaceful retreats here over those years.

We wanted a property that was close enough to the town, beaches and amenities, but peaceful and relaxing during the day! We found it!

Why Martin Watton chose Dénia

After many great holidays on the Costa Blanca, we decided it was time we bought a place of our own. We had been to many areas along this coast line, however none caught our eye as much as Denia. Its not an overly touristy place, its sort of the hidden gem of the Costa Blanca! Theres a thriving port and marina with some stunning boats, along with some of the best restaurants we have been in! Denia Castle is a must see, especially at night (open till 1am during summer), you have a panoramic view of Denia, both the port and old town, as well as the Montgo. The area is a nice short 1 hour journey from either Alicante or Valencia airport, and also been a port town you can catch a return ticket to ibiza for a mere 40 Euro!

What makes this villa unique

The property is in a private and quiet location on the foothills of the Montgo. The town and beaches are 5 minutes away, and if your feeling more energetic you can have a walk to the top of the Montgo, direct from the villa! Just follow the road straight up! See if you can make it to the cross on the top of the mountain, then wave to your family that are lounging in the pool!

We spend many evenings with the BBQ on, sipping a gorgeous glass of sangria whilst the sunsets. A taxi to or from the town is a mere 10 Euro, ideal if you wanted that extra drink or hit one of the beach bars!

Notes on accommodation: All bedroom doors have internal locks. All the windows to the villa have mosquito nets which are fixed and can not be opened. (Not including naya windows). NEW FOR 2016 - -All new internal artwork -Bathrooms now have Shampoo / Hair Conditioner and Body Wash Dispensers -New patio near the grassed area with views over the pool and mountain Outside: There are 3 good sized patio areas, fully equipped with outside garden furniture and sun loungers. There is a beautiful charcoal Barbecue, and concrete tiled furniture for those nice evening meals! The garden has an array of coloured shrubs, cactus, palm trees and tropical trees - both great to look at and good at providing shade! The Pool is 8x4meters in a 'Kidney' Shape, plenty big safe enough for the whole family! It gets the sun most of the day during summer! The whole garden and grounds are completely fenced off, with lockable front gate. Nice grassed area around the pool, and landscaped and gravelled areas to the sides. Nice private location with stunning mountain views, with amazing sunsets! It really is a great place to spend time, you will not be disappointed. Utility Room: Iron and ironing board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels for use in the Villa are included. A change of linen and towels is provided for 2 week stays. Other: Enclosed (naya) sun room which over looks the pool and garden area - with mountain views. Outside stairs lead to pool area.

Beautiful relaxing break!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The villa is in a beautiful location nestled in the mountains.

There was everything you need in the villa and we felt instantly comfortable there.

Bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of warbrode space. All facilities available in the kitchen and big comfy living room with tv, freeview and DVD’s

Pool, bbq and garden areas are fab with great views of the mountains.

We will definitely be returning.

One week was not enough!!!

Great communication with owner. Very responsive. The house sits in the most beautiful of settings, the garden is absolutely beautiful and the pool is just great to relax in looking up at the mountain. The house is well equipped and the fact that it has internet is brilliant especially with two 15 year olds. The kitchen is well equipped and we didn't feel the need to leave that often as we just wanted a relaxing time. Consum and Lidl are a short car drive away, as is Denia town where you can shop and dine if you so wish. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful

Top tips

~Take binoculars to view the mountain

~Don't take too many clothes as there is a washing machine and clothes dry quickly outside.

~ No need for towels unless you want to go to the beach (pool towels provided)

~Alcohol very reasonable at local supermarket (Consum)

~Take insect repellent and antihistamine cream if you get bitten

~ Bonus- water, tea, coffee and wine on arrival (particulary good if you arrive late)

All in all a fantastic holiday in a gorgeous house. We could totally sell up and live here.

Große Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer. Sehr ansprechend Das Haus sitzt in der schönsten Umgebung, der Garten ist absolut wunderschön und der Pool ist einfach toll zum Entspannen bei der Aussicht auf den Berg. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und die Tatsache, dass es Internet hat, ist vor allem mit zwei 15-Jährigen toll. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und wir haben uns nicht die Notwendigkeit gefühlt, das Haus oft zu verlassen, da wir nur eine erholsame Zeit wollten. Consum und Lidl sind eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt, wie auch die Stadt Denia, wo man einkaufen und essen kann, wenn man es wünscht. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und friedlich

~ Nehmen Sie das Fernglas, um den Berg zu sehen

~ Nehmen Sie nicht zu viele Kleider, da es eine Waschmaschine und Kleidung trocken draußen gibt.

~ Keine Notwendigkeit für Handtücher, es sei denn, Sie wollen zum Strand gehen (Pool Handtücher zur Verfügung gestellt)

~ Alkohol sehr vernünftig im lokalen Supermarkt (Consum)

Beautiful, tranquil and homely villa

Spent two weeks in this villa and had a wonderful holiday. We weren't entirely sure what to expect but the property surpassed all of our expectations and the pictures don't do it justice.

It was comfortable, quiet and well stocked with bits and pieces we needed for our stay. Worth noting there is British freeview TV and a PS3 in the villa too.

10 minutes drive from Denia centre and 15/20 over the hill to Javea makes the location pretty good but you will need a car.

The stunning garden is private and secluded, with plenty of little ornaments scattered around to add a bit of interest and a great stone BBQ that made for a few nice nights around the pool. The garden also has excellent views of the Montgo mountain in the background, which is easily accessible from the villa and well worth the effort if you're into hillclimbing - we started at 6am to avoid the heat!

The pool isn't the biggest but it was everything we needed for the fortnight. The garden gets sun all day, but does have a lovely shaded gazebo should you need a break from the heat. There's also a brilliant outdoor shower which I actually preferred to use over the indoor one.

The owner was excellent with us too and whenever we needed anything he was on hand to help, sorting out the couple of minor issues we had very quickly.

The only fault I could give is that there's no Wifi - but this is pretty easily remedied. All the restaurants have free wifi and I enjoyed my time offline around the pool.

We absolutely loved this villa and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Peace perfect Peace

From the outset we were impressed with the service that we received. Communication with the owner was very good and we felt comfortable in dealing with him. The villa is set in an extremely quiet residential area and was well maintained with cleaning, towel change etc. once a week. The keys are in a secure outside safe so are available as soon as you get there – you don’t have to meet someone to pick them up.

The rooms are comfortable and pretty and air-conditioning in all the bedrooms is ideal.

The Living room has a nice new leather settee and the conservatory is has smashing views over the garden, pool and to the Montgo mountain and even the sea (just about).

The villa itself is very private, perfect for walking around half dressed, or topless sunbathing. The pool area is surrounded by grass and the garden has Palm trees and a Lemon tree there is a large outdoor b-b-q and stone seating area. There is even a stone crocodile swimming in sea of gravel. It’s a lovely place to spend time outdoors.

The accommodation was as described with a very lovely garden and pool area with views to the Montgo area. It suited us as we prefer a quiet base for a holiday. The town of Denia is only a few Kms away and so if we want more life, it is a 5 min drive away, as is the beach and port. There are many, many bars, restaurants and several nightclubs.

We would certainly recommend this to anyone who does not feel the need to be 10ft away from the nightlife.

Pasamos cuatro días de lujo en esta preciosa villa en la falda del Montgó. Hace falta coger el coche para llegar a Denia o las playas pero se encuentra a tan sólo 5 minutos. Todo muy limpio y arreglado. Un placer!

UN REGAL

Nous avons passé 2 semaines formidable.

Avec le propriétaire, nous avons parfaitement préparé notre arrivée. Il est Hyper disponible, et vous répond rapidement quand il le peut.

Coté maison, RIEN A DIRE, Idéalement située cela correspondait parfaitement à la description et a nos attentes. par rapport aux photos, la maison est même meilleure.

A notre arrivée, la propreté était au rendez-vous !!

Nous étions 5 et nous avions encore de la place pour vivre.

Je recommande fortement cette maison et ce propriétaire, Mr Watton est excellent.

Coté activités/ Restaurations/ Attractions, il y a faire le centre ville 20 min a pied ( 5 en voiture), avec supermarchés pour faire les courses, resto en bord de plage, petite marina avec Parc d'attractions pour ado/enfants.

Un plus grand centre commercial se situe a Ondara " Puerta de la Marina".

Enfin Bref .... Excellent sejour Merci Mr Watton

The closest beach is about 5 minutes drive away, just before the stunning port walkway of Denia. About 10 mins away is the Las Marinas Beaches - Where during the summer months you can take part in water activities such as Kayaking and Jet Skiing.

Travel:

The closest airports are Alicante and Valencia, both are one hours drive away and car hire is very reasonable. A car is definitely recommended. Murcia airport is about 1 hour 45mins away.

Train - Denia - For Alicante - 4km Away

Motorway - Junction 62 of A7/E15 for Denia - 10km Away

Distances:

Denia main town is less than 5km away.

Javea town and beach is a short mountain road of 9km.

The beautiful mountain village of Guadalest is approx 1 hour away, along with Algar Falls, both worth a visit - especially when you embrace the water under the fall!

Benidorms Terra Mitica Theme Park / Aqualandia Waterpark and Safari are within 30 - 45 minutes drive from the villa.

Further Details:

Local Supermarkets are Eroski and Lidls, approx 3km away, with more supermarkets about 6km away. The town has some stunning fashion shops, along with all the usual banks. Restaurants are plentiful, both in the town and along the port…something for everyone! In Denia town there is an indoor fresh fruit, meat and fish market which is good value and the chance to try something new! Most restaurants have free wifi.

Booking Notes:
A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable to secure the reservation, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, together with a refundable 500 Euro (£400) damages deposit. For bookings with less than 8 weeks before departure, the full rental rate will need paying immediately. Renters are responsible for organising their own personal travel insurance to cover cancellation, injury, loss, damage etc. Renters cannot re let/sublet the villa to any other party. Welcome Packs Can Be Arranged.

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is Sunday, but this can be flexible at certain times. Arrival times are after 4pm, and departure times are before 10am. This allows us time between lets for cleaning and maintenance.

Notes on prices:
Discounts can be arranged for longer lets (Longer than 3 weeks).
Rental prices include electricity, water, heating, air conditioning, bedding and bed linen, towels (except pool/beach towels) and all the normally required crockery/pans/glasses/cutlery etc for dining and for the kitchen. Welcome packs can be arranged at reasonable prices - ideal if you have a late flight in.
