Villa in Lorgues, Var, Provence-Alpes-Cote DAzur, France - Set In Its Own Spectacular Secluded Garden With Uninterrupted Views Of The Surrounding Forest

Thyme House is our family home and architect designed for ease of living and access to the pool and gardens. All the bedrooms are light and benefit from luxury ensuite facilities. the owner is a professional artist and many of her works are hung around the villa. The pool is salt water based,and automatically controlled to ensure maximum comfort.The access is from the rear of the property ,so the south side is completely private with no overlooking properties.There is a laundry and the water is softened.There is a car port and plenty of private parking space.The garden was designed by e renowned designer ,around a theme of naturally occurring plants and shrubs from the area.Notable is a thyme lawn that flowers in late June.There is a specific barbecue area with a gas barbecue supplied.On two stone terraces there is a large table for 8 with a full canopy shade,as well as 6 sun loungers and sunshades. The market town of Lorgues is 2km away with all facilities.Michelin starred restaurants are close.It takes about 40mins to drive to the coast, St Tropez takes about 45mins depending on the coastal traffic. You can walk straight into the forests and vineyards as well as easy car access to the Gorge de Verdun ,with rafting and other water sports. A bottle of Chateau Croste wellcomes you when you arrive.The local manager lives close by and can give every assistance if needed.The pool is serviced weekly and all linen is supplied.All the usual holiday facilities are close by ,such as horse riding,canoeing,golf and bicycles can be hired.

All the rooms have direct access to the garden and the two south facing rooms have direct access to the pool.The pool is salt based and automatically controlled .

It is very nice to be able to sit in the shade of ancient olive trees and have a glass of wine. The garden was designed by James Basson and is centered on wave planting with

thymes and grasses.

Have rented many villas ... this one top of the list. Great space for two families with teenagers ( WIFI a god send) plenty of beds and bathrooms. All facilities provided to make your stay effortless. Pool a delight after serious sun bathing in beautiful surroundings, Pure heaven !

Perfect base for exploring the gorgeous surrounding area, from st tropez to the gorge not forgetting lorgues, the medieval town 2 km from villa with its great restaurants and supermarket.

John the owner was a wonderful help, always at the end of an email to answer any queries.

Ideal holiday home

This is a beautiful house, tucked away in the middle of the vines with views over the surrounding countryside in all directions. No noise, no neighbours, it's the ideal place for un-winding.

Yet it's close enough to the lovely town of Lorgues that you can easily cycle to.

The house is airy, spacious, and well-equipped - though most of our time was spent on the big terrace or enjoying the pool. There are many opportunities for visiting the local attractions; for amateurs of wine, there are many well-known caves very close by. Access to the autoroute is easy which makes Toulon, Nice and other places within the Provence all very easy to get to.

The owners were very helpful and have done everything to make our stays enjoyable. To sum up, this is the ideal Holiday home. Looking forward to our next stay.

What a find!

Superbly equipped villa in a very peaceful location, with a great pool and lovely garden. Close enough to Lorgues (5mins by car) to enjoy the town with its markets and great restaurants.

Just back from a terrific holiday and this has quickly become one of our favourite villas (& we've visited many in the region over the last 20 years).

Fab Property

We enjoyed our time at this house, and rather selfishly don't want too many people to know about it so we can return soon! It is so pretty and comfortable as well as being laid out to make self catering easy. The pool and garden were lovely too. It is near enough to the coast to do a day trip and good for exploring the Gorges de Verdun too.
