Lovely homely cottage in a great location
I'm pleased to hear that the third bedroom, which I prepare for an adult, little girl or little boy, ensured that your son was happy there. Meeting him was a real delight as he was so excited to be arriving for his holiday; I'm so glad he, and you all, had a lovely time!

Lovely homely cottage in a great location
We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage. There is everything you could ask for provided. The cottage is homely and cosy with good quality and comfortable furniture. Lots of information was provided prior to our stay by the owners and the Welcome Pack was a really nice touch. Our 8 year old loved his room and didn't want to go home. Its in such a good location - a short walk to the beach and local pubs offering great food and close drives of buses to some great places for days out like Sandringham and the West Norfolk Steam Railway.. Would recommend this as a fantastic base.
Ideal seaside retreat, comfortable cottage.
This was the first time we had stayed at Carpenters cottage. When we arrived at the cottage, Teresa, the owner showed us around and also left us a lovely welcome basket which was a nice touch. The cottage was well equipped with everything we should possibly need for our stay. It was emaculately clean and furnished to a very high standard, and the bed was just so comfortable.
The location was within walking distance of the beach and you can even walk along the wide walk/cycle way towards Hunstanton, where they have great fish and chips!
We found the bus service in this area to be very frequent and reliable especially important for anyone completing the coastal and pedders way path.
Teresa was very helpful throughout our booking and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would highly recommend this property as a home from home to my family and friends.
Excellent location and superbly furnished
We had excellent communication with the owner, who even greeted us on arrival (we were left a lovely welcome basket too). The cottage is clean furnished to a high spec including the bed linen - always a nice touch. My little girl loved her bedroom. The enclosed garden was a sun trap and a perfect size for small children.
Heacham itself is an excellent location, but the cottage is right in the centre of the village, literally a minutes walk from Tesco. We normally do an online shop for a weeks holiday, but being so close to Tesco, in hindsight we didn't need to. There are also plenty of take aways in walking distance.
The surrounding area is brilliant for shoppers and beach lovers. We love Brancaster beach and shopping in the local areas from little villages such as Thornham and Brancaster Staithe to the town of Holt which we particularly love. Bradfields in Heacham village itself was also a nice suprise. Sandringham is worth a visit as is Norfolk Lavender which is within walking distance.
We would definitely visit this cottage again.
What a fabulous little gem
I came across Carpenters Cottage when I was searching for a weekend stay for my family attending a wedding in the area. What a great find this was. The cottage is less than 5 mins away from the venue at Heacham Manor which was a perfect location for us and the property was like a home from home. It is very well appointed, the owners have taken such care to provide everything you need and many more special touches to make your stay comfortable. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the linen fresh and clean. The garden and garden furniture again perfect. The welcome basket with fresh eggs, lovely coffee and wine was much appreciated. The customer service was great, the description and facilities were just as described and the email and phone contact with the owner was clear and easy. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to return.
Such a lovely, clean and tastefully decorated cottage. The owner had made every effort to make us feel welcome. My 8 year old daughter loved 'her room!!!'. Tesco express is literally a 2 minute walk away which is extremely convenient. The owner kept in contact leading up to our stay and shared information about local attractions should the weather be bad. Would certainly recommend to friends and family and look forward to returning for another short break.
What a Lovely Cottage
Carpenters Cottage is lovely. Very tastefully decorated, very clean, very comfortable, everything you need including extras such as hand cream, wipes, tissues and other toiletries. The welcome basket was much appreciated especially the bottle of wine! We also made good use of the pretty sunny walled garden and the BBQ. The cottage also has a secure garage which is perfect for storing bicycles. It also has its own parking space so no need to worry about going out for the day and not knowing if you'll have space when you get back. FishnChips and Indian Takeaway the shortest walk away and so is a Tesco Express. Would recommend this area for cycling as it is nice and flat. Route maps are available from Bircham Windmill (which is also worth going up) which use farm tracks and very quiet roads. A great way to go to Hunstanton is to cycle / walk along the sea wall. We had a lovely week and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
Activity and Interests
A 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk will take you to the safe sands of Heacham North beach and its promenade to Hunstanton to the north. Hunstanton boasts open sands and its famous red and white striped cliffs. To the south is Snettisham beach with its RSPB reserve. A short journey further round the coast takes you along the famous North Norfolk coastline with its coastal footpath, bird reserves, picturesque villages, harbours and market towns such as Burnham Market and Wells next the sea.
Whilst the use of a car is recommended to optimise the surrounding countryside and coastline there is an excellent bus service. The “Coast Hopper” operates throughout the year and shadows the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail from Hunstanton to Cromer. It’s easy to take the bus from the village, get off for a walk, and rejoin the bus further along the route. The Coast Hopper to Holme next the Sea gives access to the Peddars Way National Trail as it reaches the coast.
Village shops and businesses are within a 5 minute walk. King’s Lynn the nearest large market town and railway station is 12 miles. Whilst within 20 miles is Holkham with its breathtaking silver sands and Hall, Fakenham with its racecourse, and arguably Norfolk’s trendiest village Burnham Market. With too many to list just do a web search to find many North West Norfolk treasures to visit along its coastline which has some of the most unspoilt and stunning beaches you could ever wish to see!
Heacham village offers all amenities to support your stay, including an express supermarket (with cash machine) and 2 takeaway restaurants within 5 minutes walk of Carpenter’s Cottage. However, a 10 minute drive to Hunstanton the nearest town offers supermarkets, theatre, fairground, sea life centre, sport and leisure centre, shops, restaurants and takeaways, public houses, banks, tennis, bowls and croquet along with access to the beach and its facilities.

If the booking is made within 30 days of stay full payment is required. All payments to be made by bank transfer, a receipt is then issued. Prices are inclusive of towels, linen, hot water, central heating and logs.
Guests are welcome Friday to Friday, Friday to Monday, or Monday to Friday. However, some flexibility may be available upon request. Arrival is after 4.00 pm with departure by 12 noon.

- Notes on accommodation: The property applies a non-smoking policy. A stair gate is provided for use at relevant bedroom doorways. Outside: Optimise the secluded south facing garden using the available BBQ and wicker and wooden patio furniture with parasol. Flower boarders and an area of lawn ensure fresh and attractive surroundings. Enjoy the garden-fresh herbs and salad provided in the herb tub (subject to time of year), please just give them a water from the water butt, in return! An additional fridge/freezer is available in the garage if required, along with a supply of logs for the wood burner. The garage provides secure parking for a small size car and/or bicycles, buggy, golf clubs, etc. Adjacent to the garage, to the rear of the property, is an additional off-road private parking space. A linen line and prop is provided within the rear garden. The property fronts onto one of the main village roads providing easy access on foot or car to ample local and surrounding amenities. Utility Room: N/A Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels (plus 2 beach) are available along with tea-towels, table cloth and napkins. All bed linen and bedding is provided. The property is extensively cleaned and laundry renewed prior to the arrival of all new guests.
