About the property

W1807 Hafan Bach

PENCAER is a one bedroom cottage based on a converted barn. All on one floor with double height ceilings adding to the airy ambience. Extremely spacious accommodation with private patio overlooking the coast. Described by one travel writer as "a text book example of how to transform a rural building into luxury accommodation with all the touches you'd expect of a top hotel". Pencaer has its own parking and patio area with the added benefit of access to larger gardens and fields. Ideally located for walking the coast path and for eating at The Shed and The Sloop in Porthgain.

About Jeffrey Morris

Alison and Jeff - we moved to North Pembrokeshire in 2006, having previously owned a cottage in the area. Prior to moving here, we worked in Swansea and London. The move offered a change of pace - fortunately, we have never felt the need to speed back up since! It is a privilege to live in and welcome guests to this unique corner of Wales. Come and see why for yourselves - you won't regret it.

Jeffrey Morris purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Jeffrey Morris chose St Brides Bay, St Davids & The West Coast

The property was converted in 2008 - from a derelict farmhouse and barns.

The cottage is in a fantastic private location with superb far reaching views to the coast and Strumble Head beyond. It has it's own private patio but also benefits from larger gardens and 20 acres of fields.

As you drive down the lane to the cottage, you leave your cares behind and enter a haven of peace and tranquillity.

What makes this cottage unique

Although private and peaceful, the cottage is within a mile or so of the harbour village of Porthgain, which offers great opportunities for eating (and drinking) at The Sloop and The Shed.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is about half a mile away, as the crow flies, and can be reached via a choice of good footpaths.

St Davids is 7 miles from the cottage - 10 minutes or so by car or a wonderful days walk away if you prefer!

A delightful cottage in a wonderful locat

  • 5 of 5

Everyone knows that good weather makes your holiday special, my husband and I think good hosts are just as essential. When you have a holiday at Pencaer, Jeff and Alison are at the top of the list as exceptionally great hosts.

Their cottage is so relaxing with a wonderful garden looking over to the sea, it is also well equipped with all you need, exceptionally clean and comfortable and doggie friendly. It is lovely sitting in the evening in the garden enjoying a glass of wine looking to the sea to the sunset, all in all a delightful cottage with a wonderful view. Many eating places nearby we were spoilt for choice. We have stayed here four times so that speaks for itself. Many thanks for another great holiday, Dot & Bryan Thornley
