About this property

Podere II Colto - Located In A Beautiful Forested Area In Chianti Region heart

The house was built in 1891 and has a square floor plan. When you enter you find an old stone pavement. From here you see the original stone stairs that lead to the rooms. On the ground floor, an old cellar with a vaulted ceiling has been transformed into a beautiful kitchen featuring a bell's sink carved from a single piece of marble. There is a large common lounge, expertly restored, overlooking the ancient courtyard of the farm. The room has a large fireplace and wooden beams - a perfect setting for relaxing in a chair or at the table or working on a computer (Wi-Fi provided). Thanks to careful restoration, the house was brought back to life between 2010 and 2012 by Paolo and Daniela. The restoration was characterized by great respect for the original house. The stones and all the original materials have been preserved and enhanced. Pastel colours are used throughout the house and blend nicely with the different tones of stone, wood, and terra cotta tile. Today the house is a structure that offers its guests an atmosphere of Chianti-style contemporary comfort.

Beautiful location wonderful hosts
We only stayed one night at this beautiful B&B but wish it could have been longer. Fantastic location, so peaceful and beautiful and the hosts looked after us beautifully. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast homemade and served with great conversation. I thoroughly recommend a visit to Podere Il Colto to either unwind or to use as a base for visit some great attractions.

Peace & tranquility
This place is perfect, the owners can't do enough to help you. Breakfast is big and includes Danni's fresh baked bread, cake and Paulo's home grown tomatoes. Comfortable ensuite rooms and a lovely pool. All you can hear are the birds and if you are lucky you will see deer and wild boar in the woods. If you like your food take a cooking lesson with Danni, we had loads of fun and an enormous meal to eat. The area itself is so scenic, with many wow views. To top it off one of the best restaurants in the area was in Castagnoli at the top of the road, do go Danni will call and book your table for you. Little touches like fresh flowers in your room and home made biscuits on your bedside table when you arrive are what this place is all about, homely personal service. I know we'll be back! Ciao

Serene experience in amazing Tuscan B&B
The highlight of our month trip through Europe! Dani and Paulo were the most incredible and gracious hosts and the B&B is in a picturesque and relaxing setting (surrounded by the forests of Castle Brolio). So many personal touches. It was a treat to wake up to Dani's breakfast each morning of cake, yoghurt, fresh bread, eggs / bacon etc, as well as have Dani cook a number of meals for us (with much of the ingredients coming out of their garden)...absolutely delicious at a fraction of the cost of a restaurant. We also did a cooking class and learned her secret to her pizza, ravioli, ragu and panna cotta! They were both extremely helpful with suggestions to the area...we took Paulo up on a number of his suggestions. Besides relaxing by their pool, Some highlights included the restaurant at Rocca de Castagnoli, tasting at Castagnoli, Panzano (Dario's restaurant and Fontodi Winery), Siena, Brolio Castle. We were also able to drive to Montepulciano (lunch at Avignonosi was a treat). We were four adults and two small kids, this place was very relaxing and the perfect Tuscany experience. We will be back.
