Just had our 6th stay at Oak Lodge whilst attending Glorious Goodwood races and we will be back again next year! A beautiful and peaceful location with all the comforts of home. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. You even get a welcome hamper :) plenty of excellent eateries in the surrounding villages if you don't feel like cooking. We cannot recommend Oak Lodge highly enough. It is simply perfect.

A nice base for two to do some exploring.

  • 4 of 5

It is a well equiped house with a great view (magnificent sunsets), set in a fine garden. It is a good base to explore the South Downs, even for people on foot, like us. The excellent bus net covers the Downs (for great walks) in the north, lovely Chichester and the sea side in the south and attractive places like Arundel in the east and Portsmouth in the west. We had a good time and never a dull moment.

An ideal spot to be based

  • 4 of 5

Based next to beautiful countryside but also so near to the coast and Chichester. The property is very attractive and well maintained. It also has the added bonus of a little private garden with table and chairs which we were able to make much use of. The villages of East Dean and Charlton nearby are well worth a visit as they are not only pretty but have pubs serving good food.

Little gem near Goodwood

  • 5 of 5

This is a charming little cottage set in the countryside outside Chichester ideally placed for events at Goodwood. The health club and hotel within walking distance are an extra bonus. It is clean and well-equipped with modern furnishings and lots of lovely personal touches. It is beautifully light and feels very spacious for its size. The owners couldn't be nicer and made it feel like a real home from home. It is well placed, being only a short drive from the centre of Chichester and all its facilities. The coast is within easy access and the South Downs are on the doorstep. A lovely retreat.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely garden

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage in a lovely garden, well placed for days out around the Chichester area, including the coast. Well equipped for longer stays and well maintained - everything in the cottage is of good quality, especially the comfy bed. Can't recommend Oak Lodge and the hosts Debbie and Tex highly enough.

Great accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely weekend at Oak Lodge in July. The lodge is well equipped and in a great location for going into Chichester or to the Coast. It was lovely to arrive to flowers and a welcome basket with fresh local produce - a special touch! We would definitely recommend staying at Oak Lodge.

From the Owner

Oak lodge was built in the grounds of Oak House, mainly to provide much needed accommodation for Goodwood events. In the first year I got my first lot of guests to each event and most have been coming every year since. Good friendships have been made. The Lodge is available throughout the year and is a great location for week end or mid week breaks or as a very well equipped self contained home has provided a longer term home for people waiting to move or securing temporary work in the area. Everyone comments what a great location it is - 2 miles out ogf beautiful Chichester but on the edge of South Downs National Park and only 10 mins from the coast.
