Apartment in Pentire, Newquay, Cornwall, England - A Great Place To Chill Out & Watch The Ever-changing Moods Of The Sea Or Go On A Coastal Path Walk

Headland View is conveniently situated on the ground floor of Pentire Heights apartments with french doors from the lounge and the master bedroom allowing guests the opportunity to open the doors onto the garden and enjoy the magnificent views overlooking Fistral Beach and out much further towards Towen Head and Trevose Head. Internet available from March 2016.

The gardens are well kept communal areas of grass with surrounding shrubbery offering privacy to the guests in any of the 22 apartments.

The property has a private parking space and there are 2 visitors spaces as well.

Headland View is on Pentire Ave along the Pentire headland which overlooks Crantock Beach and village. There is a restaurant/pub a short walk away with wonderful views across Fistral beach. Even closer is a small cafe serving great sandwiches, cakes, cream teas and drinks.This cafe is overlooking The Gannel Estuary coming in from Crantock Beach and there is access to Crantock Beach from here.

From Headland View guests can walk into Newquay in approximately 20 mins where they will find The Blue Reef Aquarium, Supermarkets, a variety of gift shops and surfing fashion wear as well as Banks, PO, Pharmacy and all normal high street shopping.

I work as a housekeeper for holiday lets in and around the Newquay area of Cornwall.

I am married to Mark and together we operate a housekeeping service for holiday home owners.

We look after everything from caravans, apartments and cottages.

All our holiday homes are close by so that we are able to get to them if there is a situation we need to deal with.

We have our own caravan on Newquay Holiday Park but the other holiday lets are all owned by people who live in other area's of England.

These owners have chosen a second home in this beautiful corner of England and are happy to share it through-out the year with guests.

Lovely apartment and location

We had a great stay at the apartment - it did everything we needed it to.

Location was great just a short walk to Fistral beach. Was even greeted with a cake, tea bags and milk which was so appreciated after a long drive!

Lovely views

The views are wonderful from the main sitting room and main bedroom. The bed is very comfortable. It is in a very quiet complex and the gardens are very well kept. Shower was good and bath a bonus. Lot of storage too. It would benefit from a TV in the master bedroom. Newquay was wonderful. Loved the walk from the apartment to the headland via the beach. Overall a wonderful stay.

Apartment On The Pentire Headland

The property was modern with an excellent view overlooking Fistral beach. The accommodation was listed as accommodating up to 5 people, whilst this was possible it was a tad tight particularly in the lounge area with seating suitable for only 3 or 4 at a push. We purchased an inflatable sofa so that everyone could be seated. The facilities were acceptable with a well accommodating kitchen area. The property was in good condition however some areas, i.e. bathrooms were a little on the tired side compared to other apartments that we have stayed at in the same block. On the whole the apartment was acceptable and would certainly consider booking again. The cost compared to other apartments within the same block was considerably higher.

Location

From the Owner

Headland View was purchased in 2002 by the owners Mr & Mrs Bishop for family use and to operate as a holiday home. The Bishop family have been visiting Newquay for many years and watched the many changes in the area as Newquay grows.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

There are a wide range of Surfing schools in the Newquay area.

Coast/Beach:

Fistral Beach can be walked to in approximately 15 mins along the residential road and then down some steps.

There is a short cut if your happy to walk down a rough unmade road. Not suitable for elderly or disabled people or people with young children.

Crantock Beach is also easily reached from Pentire. Please take care and watch your Tide times.

Travel:

Newquay (St Mawgan) Airport is about a 30 mins drive away.

Car Hire -

Distances:

Newquay Town is easily reached on foot in about 15 mins.

Coastal Path walks all around.

Blue Reef Aquarium, Waterworld, Surfing, Karting, Holywell Bay Fun Park, Dairyland, Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm, Callestick Ice Cream Farm & Newquay Zoo all nearby.

Other places that families like to visit are, The Eden Project, Flambards, The Minack Theatre, National Trust Gardens & Houses (9 within easy reach)

Most of these attractions are within a 1 hour drive.

Further Details:

There is a small local shop in Pentire Avenue which is currently open 7am - 10pm. They are a small supermarket type store offering fresh bread daily, milk and other general groceries as well as daily newspapers.

The nearest PO is about half a mile away close to Newquay town.

In Newquay town you will find Pharmacies, Banks, Supermarkets, bakeries, fashions shops, surfing schools/hire, restaurants, pubs, gift shops etc.

There is a nearby Spa with Gym facilities close to Pentire Heights.

Being able to look at The Atlantic Ocean from either my master bedroom or my lounge by just looking out of or opening up the french doors. Relaxing, fishing, surfing, body-boarding, rock-pooling & walking the coastal path. Seeing amazing sunsets from my property. Being able to leave my car & walk into town, to the local pub/restaurant & a choice of beaches. Sitting watching the hang-gliders float past my window.

  • Notes on accommodation: Please ask Housekeeper if you require a Cot or Highchair. Cot bedding is not provided. Broadband available. Outside: Pentire Heights offers a lovely, peaceful garden area for guests to sit and enjoy the wonderful views over Fistral Beach. The area is mainly laid to lawn with shrub borders surrounding and offering privacy. Guests are welcome to use BBQ's but are asked to respect other people nearby and to take care, not to burn the grass. There is a private permit holders only car park. All paying guests are provided with a permit upon their arrival. Utility Room: There is no utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All beds are made up. We provide One Bath Sheet & One Hand towel per guest. We also provide 2 tea towels and a bath mat in each bathroom. Guests staying for 2 weeks will have a change of all laundry at the end of week 1. Other: On entering the entrance hallway guests walk straight ahead and turn left to enter No. 1. Once inside you have the bathroom to your right, master bedroom with en-suite on your left and twin bedroom on your right. Lounge/diner/kitchen is straight ahead.
