Everything you need in this apartment
This was our 4th summer in the apartment and no doubt we will be back again. It is situated in a quiet street, east of the river and a few streets back looking on to the church with a small balcony from the kitchen and one of the bedrooms which is a lovely spot for breakfast with views down to the river. Very central for restaurants, the square and the supermarket. 5 minutes walk to the ferry for the beach and 5 minutes walk to the bus station and slightly longer to the train station. The apartment has everything you could possibly need. It is very spacious with full length windows in all but one room so very cool and spacious even when outside temperatures are high. All in an ideal spot.
My husband and I have stayed at this great apartment 3 times so, and I've no doubt we will be staying again in the future. The apartment has everything you need to have a relaxing holiday - space, peace and quiet, every facility, nice neighbours, within walking distance of the centre of Tavira town, reasonably priced and a very nice owner to make booking very smooth. Quiet but convenient location
We are always happy to return to this apartment where we have stayed many times.
It is a sunny and comfortable flat, with all necessary facilities. It is located in a quiet but convenient area, with ample parking (visible from the flat) by the Igreja do Carmo across the road.
The rooms are spacious and the rear balcony overlooks gardens.
Small shops and a larger Pingo Doce supermarket are a short walk away, as is the river Gilao, the Tavira town centre and the bus station. There are good restaurants nearby - Restaurant Bica in Rua Almirante Cândido dos Reis is well recommended for good Portuguese food at reasonable prices.
Owner Karen is always helpful and it's nice to have more than one set of keys. Our only problem if you are on foot is that it is at the top of the hill!
Delightful town apartment
We have just had fabulous 2 weeks in the Tavira Town Apartment. It is comfortable, spacious & well appointed. It is set in a quiet, cobbled street overlooking a church at the front & the balcony overlooks a quiet courtyard. We loved having several bars & local restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute stroll from the apartment!
The apartment is a home from home - bright & clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Eating out was affordable & delicious!
Several supermarkets are within an easy stroll of the apartment. We only used 1 bedroom but the apartment is big enough for a family of 6!
Tavira is a delightful town & we loved the ferry to the beach & appreciated the use of the 2 bicycles in the apartment. There are bike lanes on the main roads but also the apartment is not far from the nature reserve where we saw a range of wading birds as we cycled in the warm sunshine - a perfect combination!

Fantastic and original.
Staying here again in April 2014 as our stay in June 2012 was simply fantastic. The apartment is so convenient to all amenities, restaurants, the River and supermarkets which are all so near and all within a gentle stroll.
The apartment is spacious and well equipped with a lovely balcony at the rear overlooking lemon trees and neighbouring gardens.
Two bathrooms and three large bedrooms make for a very comfortable stay. The lounge overlooks the Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a sixteenth century Church, one of the thirty in Tavira ! Being minutes away from the centre makes for a peaceful location.
The owner, Karen is extremely helpful and has kept the apartment well with a rustic and homely feel.
Thoroughly recommended and realistically priced.

“Tavira is described as the prettiest town on the Algarve and I find it an easy and relaxing place to holiday. The town has all the facilities you could need and enjoy, without it being "just a tourist resort". My experience of the Portuguese people is one of honesty and helpfulness in a quiet dignified way. A main attraction is the Ilha, which has the loveliest of sandy beaches, reached by a short picturesque trip on one of the regular ferries. If, like me, you occasionally want to venture further afield, Tavira is ideally placed for both Faro and Spain (a 2 hr drive to Seville). The surrounding Algarvean countryside has its own special charm with scenic drives, hills and villages. Tavira is east of Faro, conveniently served by both train and bus.”

The main local beach is on the Ilha ,a long sandy spit reached by a short ferry trip from the centre of Tavira,
Other local beaches can be reached by short car or bike rides.

Less than 1 km to the centre of town.
There is a daily municipal market selling fresh local produce, including fresh fish, on the other side of the river.
There are several supermarkets and a large shopping mall nearby.
This historic town has many beautiful churches,gardens that run alongside the river. The town has an array of local shops, banks, cash machines, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance of the apartment.
The town has public gardens, a castle, museum, and historic Roman bridge crossing the river.
There is also a good Tourist Information Centre.
Trips can be arranged to Lisbon, Seville, and to other places of interest.

A provisional booking can be made, when a non-returnable deposit is requested which confirms the booking. The deposit is included in the tariff. The final payment is requested 4 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
Payments are by cheque or Paypal.
I then post (recorded delivery) keys and directions to the guest.
I give discounts for longer stays.
No specified change over days.
Arrival and departure times are flexible.
