About Mark CARTER

Having visited the village for more than 20 years we decided to move here in 2012.

We both have worked in the Customer Service industry for more than 40 plus years between us.

Having travelled the world we like nothing more than getting back to the village with all its charm, peace and quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

In 2103 we opened L'Ancienne Boulangerie Chambre D'Hote in the village.

The keys for the House are collected from here and we are on hand all through your stay to help with any info or quetions that you may have.

As described, a comfortable spacious house in a picturesque medieval village, ideally located.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Mark & Sara's lovely home which was beautifully furnished and proved to be an ideal location for exploring the area. The house was spacious and clean and felt like a real home from home! The village itself is beautiful and the Abbaye well worth a visit. There are plenty of activities and sites to visit nearby and some wonderful French markets to explore! We had a really enjoyable holiday in a beautiful area of France.

Great lovely large house in a good location to explore

  • 5 of 5

We met Sara at her B&B just 5 minutes’ walk away from No7 where she took us directly to our accommodation for our 14 day summer holiday. Beautiful large house over 3 floors, lovely and clean with a huge private terrace which had the sun all day… perfect for those lazy days. We used the house as a base as we explored the area including Carccassone, Beziers, Narbonne, Pyrenees Mountains, Black Mountains even as far as Pont du Gard. We had a great time using Relax Rentals (in Beziers) to hire bikes as we cycled along Canal du Midi all the way to Sete and caught the train back. We also hired kayaks in Puicheric and paddled downstream for 9km over some lovely rapids along the river Aude. Caunes Minervois has some nice restaurants and a great Boulanger Patissier where we visited nearly every morning for fresh bread and a pastry or 2. If you are looking to explore this area then I would recommend No7. A great relaxing holiday.

Authentic and rustic house with all mod cons

  • 5 of 5

The 10 day stay enabled us to use propety as a base to explore Carccassone, Canal du Midi and the Black Mountains all nearby. Caunes Minervois had shops and pub, restaurant and large Abbey. The narrow lanes were a delight to explore. The property had all the facilities needed for a rented holiday home and was kept spotless. The terrace area was a nice surprise. The rooms were large and a family of six could be accommodated well. The downside was you have to be agile to negotiate the stairs and the walk up to property from car park, as the road was too narrow to park in. The English owners lived nearby and were friendly and helpful. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

A character filled house in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We were given a warm welcome from Mark & Sara and taken to our house which was stunning, well appointed and spotlessly clean, the terrace a hidden gem a sun trap especially in the mornings.

The village has all you need, a lovely small shop "Marlenes" for everything day to day, the Tapas bar near the Abbey has a sheltered garden for a beer and relaxed food, we also had a lovely evening meal at Hotel D'Albert amazing food with our host Frederick very attentive.

Close by a short drive were the mountains, Vine yards & Canal du Midi, although I would check dates as we had two bank holidays in one week with every thing closed, as it should be, the pace of life is so much more relaxed.

This is a great location for all whether you like walking, site seeing or just relaxing albeit the cobbles streets and various levels in the house may not be suitable for very young children or the infirm

Thank you again to Mark & Sara for allowing us to stay in there lovely house.

This is a most unusual and interesting place

  • 4 of 5

The start of our stay was welcomed by our hosts Mark & Sara who could not have been more helpful taking us directly to our accommodation, once there we found a spotlessly clean and well maintained property full of character. The facilities were fabulous although due to the rooms being on various levels, visitors with small children or the elderly & infirm may find the stairs challenging. Apart from this observation I would recommend the house to all as the furnishings were extremely comfortable with the terrace being a real gem. The village was superb with lots of narrow streets but again uneven cobbles and steep climbs may not suit all. The local shop "Marlene's" catered for everything from groceries to local wine, we can also recommend the Tapas bar opposite the Abbey, great for a drink and informal meals. We also had a wonderful meal at Hotel D'Albert again a real treat. The local area has it all from mountains to vineyards, the coast not far away and an infinite amount of history to explore. Our hardest task on arrival was slowing down to the pace we all should have, but very few of us do, two bank holidays in one week I say the French have it right!

Thank you again to Mark & Sara for there kind hospitality.

Great family holiday

  • 4 of 5

We and our two children really liked it here. Very nice accommodation, clean, spacious, real feel of southern France. Lovely village - quiet, not touristy but nice restaurants. Lots of stuff to do in the region. Owners really nice and helpful. Would strongly recommend for a family holiday - though house probably has too many steps for young children.
