About the property

Bohenie Lodges are purpose-built accommodation for self-catering holidays and are fully equipped to offer a comfortable and relaxing Scottish vacation. The lodges are constructed entirely from timber in the style of a log cabin or mountain chalet but with the benefit of the high levels of insulation and double glazing found in modern homes. Electric heating ensures that even in winter your stay will be comfortable! The location of our two log cabins offers tranquil woodland on the edge of open moorland and right from the doorstep visitors can enjoy easy walking on a gentle hill track with magnificent views of the mountains of the Grey Corries and Nevis Range. The accommodation is ideally placed for people looking for a quiet holiday without being too far from Fort William and its attractions. We welcome walkers, cyclists and outdoor lovers in general. Well-behaved pets can be accommodated by prior arrangement.

Notes on accommodation: Peaceful rural location 30 minutes drive from Fort William. Rail and bus services within 2 miles. Just two widely spaced cabins on large private woodland / river bank site. Parking for several cars. One or two well-behaved pets welcome. Walkers, cyclists, nature lovers welcome! All bedding, linen and towels are supplied. Electricity meter is read by guests on arrival and departure and quantity used during stay is payable on departure. Great location for day trips all over the Highlands and Cairngorms region. Easy trips to Malaig, Oban, Ft William, Inverness, many walking trails. Beds were comfortable, and very nice hostess, Sheila. Many sheep, birds, wildlife in area. Couldn't ask for a better place for hikers or those just enjoying the scenery, or locality for day trips. Enjoyed gondola ride up Ben Nevis, which can be seen from the cabin.

Owner's Response: I met the Clients on several occasions and found them very knowledgeable about our country - they were interested in our immediate area and Scotland in general. A pleasure to have them as guests in our Lodge which they left very clean and tidy and would certainly welcome them back again on a return visit

It was great (but)

  • 4 of 5

When we arrived we were told the water was conternitate and would have to use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. In the small room there was a damp problem which was very mouldy and smelly,in the double room there was a very bad smell of damp which was making sleeping and breathing very difficult.

Even with these issue sheila did her best to make our stay great to which it was,she cleaned the cabin rooms as much as she could and compensated us with free electric. The question would i stay again (YES) is the answer thanks Sheila for everything great place to stay,oh yes thanks for the wifi you had fitted it make the nights better when you have teenage daughter.Without the issues above the stay would have been perfect

Oak Lodge, a lovely hide away

  • 4 of 5

A great relaxing holiday location, fully equipped little cabin which is lovely and warm and thankfully a dry haven from the wet Scottish summer. Our hostess was lovely and had left tea, milk and shortbread for our arrival and made the effort of coming to see us to ensure all was ok. Highly recommend this location and cabin for those wanting to get away from it all (no phone signal and wifi a little hit and miss - just what we wanted to ensure total relaxation).
