Quite simply the best cottage we have stayed in

  • 5 of 5

Fisherman's Cottage was one of the best cottages we have stayed in full stop. Wonderful position, no need to use the car, if like us you have 2 dogs that love to walk and have miles of coastal path which really is just across the road! Beautifully kept, peaceful and very cosy. Lots of books to browse through in front of the log fire and just a short stroll into town. Perfect! Would recommend to anyone

Had hoped to return

  • 4 of 5

Apart from a issue with parking everything was great. Cottage was clean and tidy. 2 minute walk to dog friendly beach. Chip shop at the bottom of the road, childrens play area at the top. Everything that a family would want really. Public car park about 200 yards give or take a few yards. We had hoped to return this year but have just read that pets are no longer welcome shame really.

Lovely little cottage

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for the half term week end of May.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped, more spacious than looks in the pictures. Lovely little patio garden. Beds were comfy. Stairs are quite steep, but there is a downstairs bedroom if you have difficulty with the stairs. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The log fire worked well and gave the cottage a cosy feel.

The recycling was not clear, the messages on the bin have worn away, a note in the information about what goes in what colour bin would be useful.

The pub no longer allows use of parking, but the car park works out reasonable if you pay for the whole stay by text rather than pay on a daily basis.

Disappointed there were some cigarette butts in the patio garden, aside from thoughtless guests who should clear away their own mess, this is a housekeeping issue.

Second housekeeping issue is the overwhelming smell of dogs. The smell was even in the top bedroom, the owner requests that dogs remain downstairs but this has not been adhered to, people may love the smell of their dogs, but other people don't, but also with the smell that strong, the carpets need cleaning and the furniture and walls washed down, the smell was so strong, it made me gag, and their were do hairs in the bathroom !!

A quiet area, though the weather was not good, so may be a bit noisier height of summer, but my guess would be not that much that it would disturb. less than a minute to the beach, and 5 minutes to centre. Shops, cafes and a few restaurants.

Ideal area for families, lots to do in surrounding area.

Really lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely cottage for 3 nights and couldn't fault it! It's a beautifully decorated and furnished cottage, with many homely touches. The cottage is right by the beach in Mablethorpe and is a perfect base for enjoying this quiet seaside town and the east coast. It's ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of life, I would highly recommend it.

Location

From the Owner

If ever there was a perfect place to be by the seaside, then this really is it, Especially if you are a pet owner as the beach is just across the road! An original former Victorian Fisherman's cottage by the sea that looks like it belongs more in Cornwall than Mablethorpe! Perfectly situated in a stunning location with a nature reserve at the rear and just 200 yards from the golden sandy beach, a real gem and one that i get really excited to go to, whenever i get the chance! My staff and myself will be delighted to have you as guests and look forward to being of service now or in the future. Thank you for considering our little cottage for your next holiday or winter shortbreak.
