Set in a rural hamlet tucked away at the end of a short drive, with panoramic views over the surrounding area this delightful cottage is ideal for a relaxing base from which to enjoy your stay whilst taking in your choice from all the variety of interests and activities available within the area.

Managed in house through the estate Land Agents, W H T Salvin MRICS, who are available to assist with all details of your booking to ensure you have a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Originally an agricultural building, the barn was sensitively restored and converted in recent years and enjoys an idyllic position at the entrance to this rural village, next door to the church and surrounded by open countryside.

Public footpaths - a haven for walkers and country lovers and yet within 4 miles of the market town of Barnard Castle, along with the nearby moorlands, Durham, Weardale and the Lake District.

The Dickensian coaching inn at Greta Bridge is within walking distance and there is a good selection of pubs and restaurants to be found nearby.

What makes this barn unique

Full of character, the barn has a large beamed living/dining room, stone flagged floor with under floor heating, a welcoming wood burning stove (logs provided!) and a modern kitchen area. Two twin-bedrooms share a shower room with w.c. and the remaining bedrooms are all en-suite.

Good for family stay

First impressions great place to stay. Peaceful location. Plenty of room in property. Main living room beautifully converted with large log burner. Stayed long weekend in property. Some lovely walks around the hamlet of Brignall.

Large property which has heating throughout with log burner and underfloor heating in large living room area.

We were really warm the first night, heating didnt come on second night, so although log burner kept main room warm the rest of the building was really cold because its so big. Problem with log burner third night. But, staff came when a phone call was made and saw to heating, but we couldnt use the fire.Never mind.

Property looked beautiful on first impressions, but, after plenty of visitors, certain places require a little TLC. Bit of paint on walls here and there. The wall next to oven all splashed in grease. Our ensuite showerhead needed changing. Looked quite dirty. Overall great place for large group to stay, just a bit of attention to certain areas required.
