About Ann Richardson

Hello. We bought this apartment in 2014 as Whitby is one of our favourite UK holiday destinations. We come and stay in our apartment regularly with our two grandchildren. My children also use this property, as they love this place as much as we do. We come from North Yorkshire so not to far to travel with young children.

Why Ann Richardson chose Whitby

We had been looking for a property for the last two years in Whitby, we just love the place. It is a small coastal town which has lovely narrow old fashioned streets, fantastic little shops and massive array of restaurants. There is loads of good walks in the area, and some lovely beaches. We love to go the goth weekends, it is like walking through a gigantic film set. The costumes are amazing. Whitby has something for everyone no matter what age you are.

What makes this apartment unique

There is lots of properties to rent in Whitby. But we have better views than most. Huge window from the lounge and master bedroom. Waking up on a morning and sitting in bed looking at the view. Amazing.

A quiet little hideaway conveniently located.

  • 5 of 5

This lovely little cottage its tucked away down a quiet alleyway but centrally placed for maximum convenience. Clean and well presented the property is fantastically set out with the best views over the harbour in Whitby. After several annual visits it is now becoming a home from home for us that we will definitely be returning to next year. Once we have parked the car we don't need to use it again until we go home. With ample bars and restaurants and plenty of shops Whitby makes for an enjoyable break. If you do fancy getting in the car the surrounding area has plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Lovely, clean stylish and cosy

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this cottage as a base and would go back without reservation. The cottage is lovely so comfortable, simply and nicely decorated, great boathroom. It was very clean and well maintained. We lived the fact that you can see the tides coming in from the Windows very interesting and unique. Brilliant position in the heart of Whitby near the Abbey Steps close to the lovely old town shops but also away from the bustle when you wanted to be.

Close to the Board pub, lovely lobster salad and live music some nights. Four Seasons restaurant near the bridge was excellent. The tour bus was a great way to get your bearings and a taste Of Whitby's quirky history, the tour guide we had was clear and fun. Don't miss a visit to the Abbey obviously but also the interesting Church. Also visit Sandsend and walk round Raithwaite Hall estate, Robinhood's Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes.
