Set within the exclusive landscaped forest lodge park of kippford, Dalbeattie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Just one hour from the border and set in a prime location within the forest park boasting a hilltop view over the river Urr and far reaching countryside views. The lodge offers luxury accommodation with all that is needed for the ultimate retreat. There is a large outside veranda with seating to allow you to take advantage of the stunning landscape and also ample space for those evening barbecues to take in the stunning sunsets. The lodge is on the edge of Kippford village, within the Kippford holiday park. There is an on site shop and 2 children's play areas. A short stroll from the park through the woodlands trail will bring you to the pretty seaside location where you'll be able to enjoy the shell and shingle beach. Here also you'll find two waterfront pubs with a warm welcome and a bite to eat. There is also a yacht club, pottery and Kippford's 9 hole golf course. Should you travel only 3 miles further the popular colvend 18 hole golf course is available and a further 18 hole course can be found just 10 miles away. Down at the waters edge there is ample opportunity for those who like to participate in water sports whether it's sailing or jet skis, windsurfing or kayaking, Sailing, or just a traditional bucket and spade holiday then this is the location for you. The park borders the national trust land that also lead to the neighbouring "Rockcliffe" where you can find a further sandy beach and the ancient Iron Age Hill Fort "The Mote of Mark". Access to The 7Stanes Cycle Trail is just over a mile away, and the local village of Kippford and the neighbouring town of Dalbeattie offers an abundance of shops, gift shops, superb restaurants, cafés, and bars. Simply put the lodge, location and views offer an idyllic setting for the ultimate in getaways.

From the moment we arrived at the lodge we were extremely impressed with the quality and appearance. Everything appears like it has been bought for personal use / almost too nice for rentals. From the welcome pack, to the Smeg fridge freezer to the leather sofas, wonderful wooden dining table, comfortable mattress topper beds... etc etc everything was fantastic. Combine this with lovely views and stunning sunsets.

There's loads to do in the surrounding area and i very much doubt you'd be disappointed if you choose this lodge as your base.

Secret Gem

This was our second visit to the lodge and we again had a fantastic relaxing holiday. Stunning views, fabulous walks straight from the lodge, pubs close although the lodge is such a high spec you rarely want to go out at night as it is a luxury to cook and eat on the verandah with the views on a warm evening. There is everything you could possibly need in the lodge and we feel totally chilled after the first 30 minutes. We are reluctant to tell anyone about the lodge as we don't want to miss out on a holiday because it is booked up but we would recommend this holiday to anyone. Close to Dumfries, Castle Douglas and the picturesque Rockcliffe and Kippford, my husband spent the whole time mountain biking on the Seven Staines bike ride and fishing on the nearby lochs. As always a perfect holiday.

Girlie Week Away

Arrived in the sunshine and couldn't believe how lovely the lodge was and when we opened the door we knew we had hit the jackpot. Everything you need for a luxury self catering holiday. We ate dinner on the balcony with the sun shining on us, the views across the tree tops is quite spectacular. 3 adults 2 children, with a small private garden for them to play in made all the difference. There is so much to do in and around Dalbeattie you are spoilt for choice. Lodge really does cater for home from home. A little welcome pack of essentials helps and a washing machine and dryer really does mean you only have to pack for a few days. A week was just not long enough, highly recommend this property and thanks to the owners for thinking of everything - oh just a garlic crush would top it off.

Kippford and Dalbeattie have shops, gift shops, restaurants, cafés, bank, Pharmacy, Vets etc. Nearby horse riding centre, 7Stanes Cycle trails, large outdoor activity centre, water ski-ing, ice cream parlours, chocolate factory. Online delivery shopping available, kayaking, sailing, jet-skis, bicycle hire, Loch and sea fishing, woodland trails & walks, 3 golf courses.
