Fantastic spacious lodge- so peaceful,Dog Friendly ;0) minutes from the Jurassic coast and many other great attractions

The self catering lodge is a spacious quiet property furnished to a high standard. The living accommodation is open plan, with a huge inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove and a cosy relaxing area. A modern well equipped kitchen, a dining area with far reaching views. WiFi is available in the living area and bedrooms. There are 2 large bedrooms, one is a twin room the other has a super king plus a single (family room) with en suite. Clive and I decided a couple of years ago it was time for a life style change. If we didn't get on and do it, it would never happen! This place became available so we decided to go for it. We love and know this area of Devon it has just so much to offer.

Why Corinne Vincent chose East Devon

Why this property.. it's just perfect (I know we are bias, but our guests always agree). The location is so quiet,rural and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Yet we are only a short drive from the Jurassic Coast and the various beach locations that offers. We are only 2.5 miles from the A303/A30 and 4 miles from the A35 but you can't hear a sound of road traffic. Bliss!!

What makes this cottage unique

There are parts of the property dating back to the 14th Century and the remainder of the dwelling has been carefully constructed in local stone. All set within a side of the valley within the Blackdown Hills. This is a great area for walking, cycling and horse riding as not only do we have off road tracks but the lanes are so quiet, you would be lucky to see more than a handful of vehicles in a day. Within the property is a large lake with seats placed around the grounds for guests to sit and enjoy the environment, if you are really lucky along with all the wildlife you may get to see the Kingfisher. In addition, we have just had our oil boilers and elderly stanley range removed, in it's place we now have ground source heating and solar panels, which supply all the water water and heating we could need, with the energy being pulled from the lake. As we now can offer the 2 bed log cabin set within the grounds it's ideal for other family members to holiday together, but with space of there own.

Notes on accommodation: Bedrooms The 2B & B bedrooms are located in the 14th Century area of the Cottage. 1 double bedroom, 1 good size single bedroom. Both bedrooms are spacious and newly decorated in a country style. Lovely linen, TV's and facilities to enable drinks to be made. Outside: Blue Ball B & B is located in three and a half acres of landscaped gardens and grounds with seating in various locations including around the lake for your enjoyment.

Beautiful, peaceful and so well maintained!

We have just reluctantly returned home from our week at the incredible Blue Ball Lodge with the family. It is such a stunning location, very peaceful and not far from all the local towns and beaches on the Devon and Dorset borders. Corrine and Clive are the perfect hosts, cannot recommend highly enough. Showers were powerful, with no shortage of hot water for all the family, wifi really good. Would definitely return.

An idyllic retreat in a beautiful setting

My husband and I have returned many times to Blue Ball Lodge because it is such a beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. It has everything we need for a relaxing stress free holiday. Corinne and Clive are great hosts with a wealth of knowledge of the local area. We can walk out of the cottage and take our dogs for long walks in the surrounding footpaths and woods or sit in by the roaring log fire and enjoy one of Corinnes yummy home baked cakes. Nothing is too much trouble .

A Delightful Experience

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised on arrival a the property as to how picturesque the grounds were, and the internal size of the holiday let. Local towns worth a visit were withing easy reach from Honiton. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The property is highly recommended if you want to get away from the "hussle and bussle" of daily life...

Sehr schönes, geräumiges, gut ausgestattetes, sauberes Ferienhaus umgeben von einem wundervollen Garten mit kleinem See.. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter, allerdings etwas isoliert gelegen. Keine Spaziermöglichkeiten in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Die nächstgelegenen Ortschaften (ca. 15 min. mit Auto) geben eher wenig her. Das Feriendomizil selbst ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Coast/Beach:

Blue Ball is a twenty minute drive from the Jurassic Coast with its many beaches.The Jurassic Coast an official an official World Heritage Site, is a must-visit for anyone interested in geology, history or stunning coastal scenery, and some of the 95-mile long stretch’s most scenic spots can be found around the Lyme Regis area. Places worth exploring include the Blue Lias cliffs – which are abundant with rare ammonites and other fossils – and the inspirational Pinhay Bay

Travel:

Exeter Airport would be the closest location.

The use of a car would be essential.

Distances:

Honiton & Axminster would be the nearest market towns. Many National Trust properties in the area. the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor are within an hours drive.

Further Details:

Within the area we have excellent farm shops, with local produce and good restaurant facitlites. At Axminster you will find Hugh Fearnley- Whittingstalls River Cottage Canteen and just outside Axminster you will find his HQ which is Park Farm where his many courses are held. Booking Notes:
A £200 deposit is required at the time of booking, full payment due one month before arrival. Bookings made less than 1 month before require payment in full. Please check on line for availability then contact us by phone or email to reserve booking. The lodge will be fully prepared for your arrival, with beds made up. Dogs are charged at £15 per week per dog.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday, when you are welcome to arrive from 2pm. On the day of departure we ask you to vacate the property no later that 10.30am. (or by arrangement)

Prices for the Lodge are for the property per week. We can offer long weekends or mini breaks, please contact us by phone or email for further info.

Prices for the B & B are £70 per night for a double. Discounts offered for 4 nights or longer. Single is £40per night and discounted for 4 nights or longer. This includes a 1st. class full english breakfast. Dogs are charged at £5 pnpd.
