The four star rated cottages are set in lovely landscaped gardens of 2 acres in a quiet setting with beautiful distant views of the surrounding countryside. They come complete with luxury towels and bed linen and heating is included too. Free laundry facilities are provided and there is a selection of DVDs, books, games (indoor & outdoor) and tourist information. Each cottage has its own private patio area with a BBQ, table and chairs and sun loungers.There is a play area for children with swings.

Appletree is on the first floor of the converted barn and is accessed by stone steps. It is suitable for up to four people. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, a good sized bathroom, a lounge area with beautiful views of the garden and countryside.

It has two sofas, TV, DVD and free Wi-Fi and a well equipped kitchen/dining area. A shared utility room with washing facilities, indoor and outdoor games and tourist information.

D.C. – 5 star Wow! Gerard and Linda are great hosts!! Cream tea on arrivalwith fresh bread/homemade jam/honey/biscuits/milk and butter. They couldn't do enough to aid our stay. Very well equipped cottage with beautiful decor. Area is gorgeous..great location as almost equal distance to north and south coast. Lots to do and this lovely couple will aid you with your choice.

M.W. – 5 star Absolutely stunning part of the country! The coast was in close range but also on the edge of Bodmin Moor for some great sight seeing / walks. A local pub with Beer brewed only for them, and delicious!



The cottages are better than some five star hotels we've stayed in, none with such views! Gerard and Linda we're a delight to deal with, thank you for giving us an amazing break.

Wonderful accommodation and good location for a relaxing break

We stayed in Appletree Cottage which was clean, nicely furnished and well equipped. The views of the garden and surrounding fields were amazing.

There were plenty of books and games to use if you fancied a lazy day at Appletree and also lots of local tourist information which we found useful when planning our day trips out.

The property is well positioned for driving to local attractions and a number of Cornwall's wonderful beaches. We visited Lanhydrock, Port Issac, Looe, Polperro (the Looe to Polperro coastal walk has amazing views), Boscastle, TIntagel, Padstow, St Ives, Truro and Wadebridge.

We had some wonderful meals: Rick Steins restaurant in Padstow, St Kew Inn, Welcome Stranger Fish and Chip Restaurant, Old Inn at St Brewards and the Blisland community shop does a fresh cooked breakfast.

The Camel Valley Vineyard is also worth a visit; you can buy and try their wonderful wines and sit on their terrace which has stunning views.

Gerard and Linda made us really welcome and the welcoming treats were a nice surprise.

We really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation staying at Appletree Cottage again.

Amazing Propery in a wonderful landscape

Wir fanden eine sehr schöne Wohnung vor, die der Beschreibungen entsprach. Sie war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Kontakt zu den Eigentümern war sehr angenehm. Darüber hinaus wurden wir durch eine Startausrüstung an Lebensmitteln (Milch, Butter, Brot und köstliche Konfitüre) verwöhnt. Auch während des Aufenthaltes und sogar zur Abreise erhielten wir kleine Leckereien wie Scones oder Brownies. Wir können diese Ferienwohnung nur empfehlen.

Die Lage im Landesinneren ist vergleichsweise zentral und ideal, um Ausflüge zu den wichtigsten Highlights von Cornwall zu machen ohne zu viel Zeit im Auto verbringen zu müssen. So haben wir in relativ kurzer Zeit (8 Tage) einen doch repräsentativen Eindruck von dieser herrlichen Gegend erhalten.

Verbesserungsvorschläge für die Wohnung: Eine kleine Garderobe für Jacken, mehr Haken zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern etc..

Appletree, top floor of a beautiful converted barn

On our arrival we were greeted by Linda and Gerard and presented with freshly home baked bread and home made scones with clotted cream, home made jam and fresh strawberries., and even a packet of treats for our dogs. What a welcome! The accommodation was exactly as described and was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding and towels were indeed luxurious. Everything you could need was provided which makes a holiday so much easier. Books, dvd's, blankets, pretty crockery, fresh flowers, toys, garden games, maps .....the list is endless. In addition, the gardens are glorious, perfect for children to run off their spare energy and for adults to envy! I loved waking each morning to lambs bleating in the field nearby. Gerard and Linda also provided us with information about suitable places to visit with the children and dogs and were always on hand to help and advise. Blisland has an award winning pub at its heart where there are some delicious beers to be enjoyed. Blisland is very central so that all our days out were within an easy drive and so varied, from beaches to gardens. We had a fantastic week and will most definitely return. We would thoroughly recommend Appletree. And to finish off the holiday perfectly, Linda made some chocolate brownies for us to enjoy on our journey home. Marvellous!

A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location, perfect for a relaxing break.

A warm welcome and a delicious birthday cake awaited us on our arrival at Appletree Cottage. This lovely, cosy cottage was the ideal location for a relaxing birthday weekend away, set in lovely landscaped gardens with far reaching views of the countryside yet within easy access of the coasts and all that Cornwall has to offer. The cottage is in a lovely peaceful location, very clean and well equipped with everything you could need, luxurious bedding and towels and a well equipped kitchen. There are many walks from the door high up onto the moor or into the picturesque village of Blisland with its award winning pub with its wide range of ales and good food. A little more than a mile away is the excellent Old Inn at St Breward with a delicious wide ranging menu with something to suit everyone, a place we look forward to revisiting. Spring is a special time to visit with the walls and banks covered in a carpet of primroses soon to be replaced with a carpet of bluebells, wish we could have stayed longer to see the beautiful floral display unfold. Thank you Gerard and Linda for letting us stay in your excellent cosy cottage and especially for the birthday cake, such a kind thought, we look forward to revisiting Appletree cottage and would happily recommend it to our friends.

Very comfortable accommodation in beautiful surroundings.

We found the cottage to be of a high standard, very tastefully furnished with some great little touches. The surrounding area is beautiful and Padstow, Newquay, Port Isaac etc are all easily accessible. Linda and Gerrard are the perfect hosts.

Cornwall as it's best. Ein wunderschönes Cottage mit grosszügigem Anwesen.

Wie aus dem Bilderbuch .Geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber.

Viele Dvds und Spiele stehen zur Verfügung.

Im nahe gelegenen Ort ein sehr gemütlicher Pub, fussläufig zu erreichen.

Das beste sind jedoch die Gastgeber, Linda und Gerard sind super freundlich , geben Tipps, wenn nötig.

Zur Begrüßung gab es Scones, ein tolles Gebäck, Sonntag war die Brötchenfee da und um Abschied Brownies.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is a utility room with a washing machine for use by both cottages. we want you to relax from the moment you arrive, so we greet you with a Cornish cream tea and leave you with some tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and jam to start you off. Last, but not least, a toilet roll in each bathroom. tissues, and facial wipes. Well behaved dogs welcome ! Outside: Each property has a a patio area with a table and chairs and guests are free to enjoy the landscaped gardens of 2 acres. There is a barbecue and a selection of outdoor games There are some beautiful walks right on our doorstep, including up to the marvellous Jublee rock, from the top of which you see for miles, the beautiful rugged moors and, almost, both North and South coasts! A favourite spot to watch the sunsets. Just a few minutes walk away!
