Located in peaceful countryside, with traditional villages and pubs only a few miles away, this is a perfect base for touring the Shannon, Limerick and Galway regions - with historic sites, the unique Burren landscape, the cliffs of Moher and ferries to the Aran Islands only 30-40 mins drive away. In easy access are excellent golf courses, great fishing, horse riding and great surfing beaches. Inside a welcoming kitchen with wood burning stove, large dining table and bright spacious open-plan living, makes this house ideal for holidays with family and friends.

Beautiful home

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at this home. My husband and son enjoyed the fire pit outside the home, the first night was magical the way the stars were out. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the television, VCR/DVD player, washer and dryer all worked well. The house has a nice touch with comfy pillows and beautiful plants it set up very nicely. The location is good your close enough to Limerick city and Ennis is a short drive away. We would recommend this place the owner Gillian was very pleasant to deal with.

Spacious, clean, comfy, beautiful garden & area.

The house was spotless. The lounge was large and homely with an open fire and the large windows let light in during the day providing us with a lovely view of the lake. The huge kitchen table easily seated all 8 of us and held all the great big dishes of food that we had cooked. The utility room was large & had a dart board & games. Additional wellies & rain macs were available. Sad that we didn't get to use the barbecues and more of the stunning back garden due to the weather. Also, we ran out of time & didn't get to use the local boats on the lake. A great party house for a group of up to 9 people.

Ideal accomodation for a family occasion

We were attending a wedding in Kilmurry and stayed here for a week. At various times we had up to 7 adults two young children and a new baby. The internal layout of the bungalow lent itself to providing space for individual couples with the children in a twin bed room. Accomodation was clean and as described with a large kitchen and living area.The location is very peaceful with a lovely outlook and great for walking/ cycling. We were able to use outside facilities for a barbecue for some family members attending the wedding. When a small problem arose Gillian had it sorted within 30 minutes. There were no issues with the entire stay. Although the kitchen units could probably be updated we thought the bungalow, grounds and facilities were excellent.

Wonderful Home!

We were a family of 9 staying in this home, and it was lovely! A beautiful kitchen, living room, spacious bedrooms! It is very close to the airport, and with our GPS, we drove all over very easily. We had a bit of trouble locating the home upon arrival, as it was very dark; but Gillian called me and led me right to the doorstep! An amazing week away, would definitely return!

Tranquil country stay

The location is beautiful with views of the Finn Lough from the Master, Kitchen and Living area. Everything we needed was there, including a BBQ, plenty of refrigerator storage, generous size rooms and bathrooms and great old CDs of classic artists. We enjoyed our happy hour each night around the wood stove fire listening to "music to fall in love to". The place was well maintained and Gillian was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns (minor) we had. We really appreciate such a relaxing atmosphere. Though we were about 15 min from Shannon, it was no inconvenience, rather, an excellent way to unwind while still having amenities in close proximity.

Nearest Airport : Shannon at 8 Miles Nearest Barpub : O' Neill's (Newmarket-on-Fergus) at 3 Miles Nearest Golf : Dromoland Castle Golf Course at 5 Miles Nearest Train : Ennis at 10 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Weavers Inn (Newmarket-on-Fergus at 3 Miles Nearest Beach : Lahinch - great surfing! at 25 Miles

Coast/Beach:

Surfing beaches approx 40-50 mins drive. Nearest is Lahinch, with numerous other beaches and coastal walks only slightly further away including Doolin, Fanore, Spanish Point and Kilkee.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Shannon which is a 15-20 minute drive away.

Car hire is available at Shannon airport. Use of a car is essential.

Distances:

The property is situated equi-distance from 3 villages - each approximately 3 miles away. The villages are Newmarket-on-Fergus, Quinn and Kilkishen. All have traditional pubs and there is choice of restaurants in Newmarket and Quinn.

Ennis town is a 20 minute drive. Limerick city a 35 minute drive (where there is a fantastic open-air market Saturday mornings). Galway is a 50 minute drive.

Further Details:

Fenloe was the site of a monastic foundation in the early sixth century and is the oldest recorded settlement in the Newmarket area, although the existing church ruin overlooking Lake Fenloe dates from the tenth or eleventh century.

Quinn Abbey, a few miles down the road, is a ruined Franciscan Abbey. It was built in the early 15th century on the remains of an earlier Norman castle and is recognised as a National Monument.

Knappogue Castle, a few miles down the road, was built is 1467 and is a magnificent example of a medieval tower. It has a beautiful walled garden originally constructed in 1817. A great night out for all the family is experiencing a medieval banquet at Knappogue.

Craggaunowen Castle and Historic Park, a few miles down the road, is another fine example of a 16th century restored Medieval Castle. The historic park is great for children to learn about early Bronze Age settlers and Ring Forts.
