Villa in Cumeada, Near Silves, Central Algarve, Portugal - Elevated Rural Location But Only 10 Mins Drive To Either Silves Or Messines, 30 Mins To The Coast

An excellent ultra modern very large detached villa with air conditioning throughout and internet, also with a private pool and magnificent views to the coast. Set in an elevated rural location but only 10 mins drive to either historic Silves or the market town of Messines and 30 mins to the coast. There is a very large sitting room/dining area with patio doors leading to a sitting terrace and to the pool. DVD player and UK free view TV channels streamed through the internet. The kitchen and utility rooms are equipped to a high standard offering all the facilities of a modern home. There is a ground floor shower room and upstairs there is a double bedded master bedroom en suite and dressing room. Patio doors lead onto a terrace offering magnificent views to the coast. There are three further twin bedded rooms, two en suite with shower rooms and the third bedroom would have the use of the ground floor bathroom. Outside there is a large gas BBQ, ideal for those lazy days enjoying a relaxed meal at the villa. Patio and pool furniture and umbrellas supplied. Maid service provided.

Another brilliant stay.

We've just spent our second three week stay at this fabulous villa and it was as good as our first time. Still spotlessly clean and faultlessly equipped, we enjoyed it to the full as a base for exploring the wonderful Algarve. A small problem with the front door (we were locked out on our arrival day!) was quickly resolved by the management company and we soon had a brand new lock. Highly recommended - especially that master bedroom bathroom! Enjoy it and give it the care it deserves.

A perfect family getaway!

We had a fabulous holiday, thank you. The villa is perfectly positioned to explore many areas in the Algarve. We did lots of exploring, finding some beautiful spots to enjoy good food and relax!

Villa Branca is beautiful, very well appointed, spotlessly clean and has outstanding views from both the villa and pool side. Just perfect for a relaxing break. Highly recommended for all ages!

Villa Branca

An absolutely fabulous villa. It is spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. A short drive takes you into Silves with its medieval castle, river and supermarkets while a slightly longer but virtually traffic-free drive takes you to the coast. We stayed for three weeks and simply didn't want to come home. Not for those who don't like clutter-free living but if, like us, you like a minimalist living space, this is the place for you. Take very good care of it!

What a place...!

I have stayed at Vilabranca on several occasions with my family. It is a very spacious, very stylish, modern villa. The views to the coast are spectacular. The hilltop setting of the villa gives it incredible panoramic views to the coast. The pool and terrace are great for relaxing at the villa or after a day at the beach. Recommended.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beautiful sandy beaches are approx 30 mins drive. The large beach at Gale is fantastic for walking. There is a board walk which runs parallel with the beach & the lagoon bird sanctuary at Salgados. Carlos' beach bar between Gale & Armacao de Pera is great for having a fish supper & watching the sunset. The fisherman's beach at Armacao de Pera is a must. You can watch the boats being launched & brought back onto the beach by tractor & buy fresh fish direct from the fishermen!

Travel:

Faro airport is approx 40 mins drive. The A22 motorway from Faro to Messines (toll road), then the EN124 heading towards Silves is the most direct route. If you fancy a day out in Lisbon you can catch the fast train from Tunes at 7.30am We would recommend a car for your holiday.

Further Details:

The villa is approx 10 mins drive to both Silves or Messines. Continente and Lidl supermarkets are on the outskirts of Silves. There are several banks in both towns with ATMs, and chemists. Also several local shops, restaurants and bars. The castle and cathedral in Silves is a must. A medieval festival is usually held around the castle in late July or August. Algarve Shopping is at Guia approx 20 mins drive. Here you will find a large Continente supermarket (similar to Tescos). There are also several clothes shops, gift shops & a large food hall. These are usually open until midnight. There is also a new shopping complex at Portimão, approx 30 mins drive. At Armação de Pera, 30 mins drive, you can take a boat trip from the beach to visit the caves along the coastline. There are several fish restaurants here, and Pedro's bar sits on the beach. You can enjoy a cold beer with your feet in the sand! Driving inland you will find 2 reservoirs (barragems). These are very beautiful and worth the drive around the twisty roads. You will come across local bars/restaurants which are worth a visit and the food is freshly cooked. You will not be given a menu, but a choice of a few 'dishes of the day' which are always good value. These local bars do not usually accept credit cards & only accept cash. The norm is to tip approx 10% on top of the bill. The large supermarkets all accept credit cards but the local shops are cash only. You will find the Portuguese people very friendly & helpful. Each town has a market once a month in rotation, usually on a Monday. The details can be found in the local weekly English newspaper 'The Algarve Resident'.

  • Notes on accommodation: Excellent appointed villa set in an elevated rural location and air conditioned throughout. Ideal for those who wish to get away from it all, yet not totally isolated. The 4 bedrooms are located on the first floor, three are en suite and the fourth bedroom has the use of a bathroom on the ground floor. The master bedroom has it's own sitting terrace offering wonderful views to the coast. A cot and highchair are provided for little ones. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a separate utility room housing a washing machine, iron and ironing board. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a 3 and 2 seater leather sofa and a further 2 seater sofa. Free view TV is provided together with wi-fi internet. There is also a DVD player. Large patio doors lead from the lounge to the outside terraces and bbq area. Steps lead down to the pool. Outside: Private pool 9m x 4.5m plus outside shower. Various tiled patios with sun loungers, sun umbrellas and garden furniture for relaxing and enjoying the views. Large gas BBQ. There are good walking areas around Cumeada, so walking shoes are recommended if you like to explore on foot.
