About the property

Quiet and tranquil location, stunning area, with everything you need to access in easy reach.

Delawarr Cottage, is nestled within the National Park, situated on a quiet country lane its location is second to none. The cottage is detached, with only the owners barn adjacent as your closest neighbour. The surrounding land is home to the families two ponies, with wild deer regularly seen. The house is a converted outbuilding within the grounds of Delawarr House. The accommodation is open plan, tastefully decorated with solid oak floors throughout.

Parents of young children please be aware there is a DEEP POOL within the grounds of the main house which is not fenced off.

There are 2 stables adjacent to the cottage to house the families 2 ponies during the winter months.

We rent : FRIDAY TO FRIDAY,

We offer short breaks, Fri to Mon, or Mon to Fri, but can be flexible.

The upstairs bathroom is built within the eaves, therefore the shower and toilet can somewhat challenging for taller guests.

Hi we are Jo & Mark we live with our family at Delawarr House, Delawarr Cottage is located within it's grounds, but is quite separate.

We have lived here for 16 years, slowly renovating the main house. We have four children all in their teenage years.

Sharing our home is Jasper, a collie/springer and in the field adjacent to the cottage are our 2 ponies :Emma, and Black Beauty, There are a family of deer who live in the fields behind the house, who do occasionally put in an appearance.

Lymington to us is one of the best locations in the UK. This particular part of the South Coast, with the Solent and the New Forest all around you, there aren't many locations with so much to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

Delawarr offers, a quiet rural location and feel, with nothing but fields leading to the Solent beyond in one direction, yet less than a mile away and you are in the middle of one of the South Coast's most stunning towns.

We have ample parking including space for boat and trailer.

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Delawarr cottage. It's the first time we have travelled with our 4mth baby, and it couldn't have been an easier place to stay. Jo the owner was very helpful and accommodating, even buying a new mattress for the travel cot, which our daughter slept in very peacefully. The cottage has been recently renovated to a very high standard, with everything you could wish for provided. It is furnished beautifully, with high quality bedding and plenty of towels etc. The welcoming touches of fresh flowers, hot cross buns and milk in the fridge were much appreciated after a long journey. The cottage has it's own private garden, which was lovely when the sun came out and I'm sure will be much used in the warmer summer months. The location is great for a 15 min stroll into Lymington, which is a pretty harbour town, with plenty of nice shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a lovely sea wall walk, which takes approx 30mins into Lymington. A short car ride away is the beautiful New Forest with great walks and the surrounding villages of Lyndhurst, Brokenhurst, and Beaulieu. We look forward to returning in the future.

The Seafront is less than half a mile from Delawarr Cottage.

A stroll along Viney Road, brings you to the sea wall, which goes all the way from Lymington to Keyhaven & Milford-On-Sea.

Alternatively a walk along All Saints Road and within half a mile you reach the local sailing clubs: Lymington Town SC & the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, on the Lymington River.

Your nearest beaches are : Milford-On-Sea - (4 miles) which is a shingle beach, or Highcliffe (9 miles) sandy beach.

With the Solent forming the playground for local sailors, and the New Forest for walkers, ramblers, cyclists and horse enthusiasts there is always something to do here.

The beautiful Georgian town of Lymington has managed to retain a selection of independent shops and designer boutiques, with its traditional Saturday open air market along the high street.

The Town Quay is one of Lymington's highlights, this traditional cobbled street leads you to the Lymington River, where you can feed the ducks, watch the boats come and go whilst enjoying a traditional New Forest Ice Cream, fish and chips or your favourite coffee.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Important note. Delawarr Cottage is located within the grounds of a grade II listed building. The grounds to the main house are clearly separate, although at present there is no gate / fencing. Within the grounds there is a private 'natural pool'. This is not available for use, and parents with young children should be aware, there is a deep pool within the grounds. Outside: Patio area, secluded garden, with outdoor furniture. Barbecue, which we politely request is left clean for the next guest. There is ample parking, with space available for a small boat or trailer by prior arrangement. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedding and towels provided. Cleaning, weekly on change over, although additional cleaning can be arranged.

This place was perfect!

This house is in a lovely village which has great access to a number of really nice places to visit. The house itself is very clean and well cared for. We had a few nice gifts on arrival and the owners were very friendly. They respected our privacy and were very quick to respone to any queries we had. We love animals so all the horses in the nearby New Forest was nice to visit. We also came home after a day out to see deer in our garden. Thank you for letting us stay with you Joanne! We loved it and will hope to come back in the future.

Lovely cottage

The cottage was perfect for us. Ideal location, lovely cottage and clean. Jo the owner was really nice and made us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble at all. We will definitely be returning again in the near future.

Very lovely cottage

The cottage is immaculately presented and felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Lovely little touch such as bread, milk, cake and butter on arrival. Plenty of outdoor space for our son to play. In fact even now he keeps saying he wants to go back to our holiday home.

Joanne made sure we were happy and even brought her horses over for our son to stroke.

Super location in a comfortable cottage with a lovely owner.

Everything is good in the cottage and the location is excellent. The only down side is the slopping ceilings/ roof which limits access for taller visitors. Joe is a really nice lady and is on site.
