A Beautiful Apartment in La Chapelle d'Abondance, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Village Location. All Amenities Within 5 Minutes Walk

This is a wonderful penthouse apartment located in the unspoilt Savoyard village of La Chapelle d’Abondance close to all amenities but in a quiet and accessible location. The double height living space has a large wraparound balcony which directly overlooks the local slopes with long views both up and down the valley. The apartment is ideally located for Skiing in the Winter as La Chapelle is part of the Chatel/Portes du Soleil ski area. You can relax and watch skiers on the local slope, the husky dogs pulling their sleds or the cross-country skiers and all from your balcony! Chatel the nearest town - (5 kms) is also one of the main centres for VTT – (Mountain Biking) during the Summer Season.Here you will also find a busy, vibrant town with a good selection of shops, restaurants, large supermarket and outdoor swimming pool and tennis in summer. The apartment is fully equipped and furnished to a high standard. There are three bedrooms that comfortably sleep six. Two bathrooms and a separate WC with wash hand basin. The large double height Living/Dining room has direct access to the wraparound balcony with tables and seating for outside dining and watching the local cows grazing on the meadows in Summer

David and I live and work in the West of Ireland.

We really enjoy Chapelle as it is a ‘real‘ French village and works for both Winter and Summer breaks..

We have three grown up sons who are keen skiers and La Chapelle D’abondance is a great place for family get togethers.

We have been visiting different areas of France for many years. We fell in love with Abondance and the surrounding area on our first visit here nine years ago shortly after we started skiing..

We were ‘encouraged’ to purchase in this location by our son John who is a passionate mountain biker (and also works in the biking industry in Switzerland

Our apartment is located within the village of La Chapelle d'Abondance. There is easy access to all the amenities that the village offers.

La Chapelle d’Abondance is a ‘real’ French village that does not close down out of season as many other do..

On a day that you just want to relax you can sit down and enjoy the comforts of home.

On Christmas Eve and New years Eve you will have your own grand stand view from our balcony of the village fireworks display and the famous ‘Descente

We had a great time staying at La Chapelle and the apartment suited us very well. It is spacious, light and bright with great views across the village rooftops to the mountains beyond. There is a comfortable, homely feel rather than the sterile neutrality you can find in some rentals. With underground parking and a lock up garage within that, it is excellent for safe storage of skis or bikes. The kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed although we did miss having a washing machine, the whole apartment is clean and tidy. The apartment block does border the main road through the village and it is not noticeable when you are inside but the balcony does overlook it. It leads up and down the valley so is not full of heavy traffic but it is in fairly constant use. That said, we did not find it intrusive but others might. La Chapelle is a small mountain village, very peaceful in contrast to some of the large ski centres but we enjoyed the peace and calmness and it is easy to get to the busier centres. All in all, we would recommend the apartment to others and would have no hesitation in returning there.
