Description

Gardener's Cottage Sleeps 3 (2 Bedrooms)

Gardener's is a free standing cottage, reached via an old, outside stone staircase.

There are two bedrooms: a double and a single.

Its position makes it very private, almost tucked away in the grounds. Even so, it has beautifully wide views over the valley from its patio.

There is underfloor heating throughout downstairs, and is has a high spec kitchen and bathroom, with top-of-the-range appliances, including a dishwasher.


About the property

Victorian outbuildings converted to cottages, with all mod cons, such as underfloor heating, wood burners, dishwashers etc. (variations per cottage). No cottage is the same as any other. Large gardens, including a walled garden. Outside seating provided for all cottages. We have free roaming chickens, including a cockerel, and surplus eggs are for sale to our guests. Large playground for children and a table tennis room, the latter doubling as WiFi Hotspot. Pets are welcome, by arrangement. We provide accommodation for assisted wheelchair users. We provide additional extras for babies in a cot and for small toddlers who need a high chair, potty etc. We provide home cooked meals, pre-ordered and put in your freezer for arrival. All our cottages are non smoking. We are open all year. We live on site, so can deal with problems if and when they arise.

About Jacqui Janssen

We are a double act and neither of us could run Rosemoor on our own. We took over the business in 1998 and have been renovating and improving ever since. To relax, we like going on hikes with Rosie, our Jack Russell.

We firmly believe that our environmental footprint should be as limited as possible. Everything we have done so far has been with that in mind. Our biggest project was the installation of our biomass fuelled boiler a few years ago. Together with solar panels, underfloor heating and proper insulation we have managed to make our philosophy reality. We are very proud to have our own nature reserve and the ability to share all this with our guests in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK: the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park!

Why Jacqui Janssen chose Pembrokeshire

When we told friends and family we were moving to Pembrokeshire, one of them said '..but there is nothing there ..' and we answered 'Exactly!'. Obviously, this is not strictly true, because there is a lot in Pembrokeshire. What is does lack however, is lots of people. Instead, it has got an abundance of the most beautiful, natural coastline you can imagine. If you do not like the coast, go and have a hike in the Preselis, or just get in the car and drive through the wonderful Gwaun Valley. There is so much to do and see that a single stay is not enough. And that is why we see our guests come again and again, and again ...

What makes this cottage unique

Rosemoor has its own unique, Victorian character. None of our cottages is the same, each has its own character.

Rosemoor's situation is very convenient, not only to explore the Dale Peninsula but also to venture further to the North and the East of the county.

The spaciousness of our site and the free roaming chickens are a truly relaxing experience in our mind and in the minds of the many returning guests we have.

We live on site and are always willing to talk to you about things you can do and see (and sort problems if and when they arise). If you come without your own transport, we can pick you up from / drop you off at the nearest station, as long as you arrange it with us beforehand.

Between us, we speak several other languages: Dutch, French, German, Italian and even some Welsh!

Booking Notes:
Full T&C on our own website, here just a short excerpt:
One third of rental at time of booking and the balance due 3 weeks before stay, unless your stay is within 4 weeks in which case the full rental is due at time of booking. Cheques and all major credit/debit cards accepted, but credit card may attract a surcharge.
All our cottages are strictly non-smoking and the max numbers may not be exceeded. Sleeping arrangements only in designated bedrooms.
Friday/Saturday changeover (dep on cottage)

Changeover Day:
Friday or Saturday change-over depending on cottage. In winter (Nov - March) start/departure days are flexible.
Arrival from 4 pm onwards, departure at the latest by 10 am.

Notes on accommodation: Our cottages vary in size and layout. If you have specific requirements or queries, please contact us directly and we can spend some more time to provide you with answers specifically geared towards your situation. Outside: Every cottage has directly or indirectly access to its own seating area. Most of the garden is not fenced off, to preserve the Victorian character and feel of the garden. Lawns are large, and there are trees dotted about everywhere: it's all pleasantly lush. All around there are wide views of the surrounding countryside. The playground is a short distance away from the cottages (but safely within our grounds), so children do not have to worry about damage to the cottages and parents (and other guests) can have a quiet read or drink in the garden, provided the children are old enough to play on their own & meet up with other children on the playground. The playground has a huge 4-seater seesaw, two massive swings, a climbing frame, a balancing bar, and a bouncy bike for toddlers. A wooden bench provides seating for those who do not feel the need to be active. We provide BBQs at request. The Nature Reserve is a short walk away: 30 acres, with lake and lots of footpaths.
