The Lookout (3*) is an open plan studio that sleeps 2 and is situated right on the shore. This is an ideal spot for keen birdwatchers who can use the bird hide to watch the wading birds and see the Brent Geese that come and winter over here. A gem of a cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We spent New Year at Wagtail Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. We used the kitchen to prepare meals each day and found everything we needed. The log and coal fire was an added bonus and kept my husband busy each day, making the room very warm and cosy. Good heating throughout. WiFi worked well. The cottage is much larger than it appears outside. A short 5 minutes walk took you to the shore and a bird hide to look out onto Lindisfarne and we saw lots of birds and ducks. Lovely circular walk alongside the edge of the farm and along the beach and shoreline. 20 minutes drive takes you to Berwick upon Tweed or Bamburgh Castle. Get the tides right to cross the causeway to Lindisfarne and see the priory, Castle and lots of bird life. Each an excellent trip out. We also visited Etal Castle and Duddo Standing Stones nearby. We would recommend this cottage and would return to stay here again.

it was a quiet few days and the property was great apart from it being too warm had to switch all the heating off when we arrived and I kept the windows open most of the time. we had a good time trying out different places to eat and toured around the area the weather wasn't the best but we still enjoyed ourselves especially trying out the different shops especially the ones selling different makes of CHOCOLATE!!! thanks once again

Cosy cottage - great stay

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay in wagtail cottage. Very well equipped kitchen. Stunning views across fields. Peaceful setting down lane yet convenient for bamburgh, A1. Short walk to good bird hide and view to holy island. Cottage is spacious and attractive. Bottle of wine on arrival was lovely touch. Good communication beforehand and during stay. Thank you for a memorable holiday .
