Carters Barn is a beautiful mid terrace bright, spacious, barn conversion with original oak beam features, furnished to compliment the stunning rural countryside setting. In the heart of the Dorset countryside this cottage is ideally located to explore all the attractions in the stunning county of Dorset and the immediate surrounding Isle of Purbeck. Newly refurbished with an open plan ground floor, the property features a country kitchen with seating area opening out via a stable door to a spacious back garden. A bright spacious living area leads to a secluded front garden via French doors and a cosy lounge area with a feature fireplace adjoins the kitchen. There are two large bedrooms, one double one twin or super king. The main bedroom overlooks the stunning grounds with floor to ceiling windows. The upstairs bathroom features a bath and overhead shower. Adjacent to the property is a plant nursery and a wildlife pond with a small woodland. Wireless for emails and web browsing only. iPod dock. No landline telephone available. Central heating. Video tour available on request.

Excellent barn conversion in peaceful country setting

We spent 3 nights at Carters' Barn and can honestly say that it was one of the best properties we've ever rented. Tastefully decorated throughout, Zoe has thoughtfully provided every comfort - from chocolate bears, fluffy towels and shortbread biscuits to the Method cleaning products. Highly recommend.

Excellent base for exploring the Jurassic Coast and gardens

The property was excellent. We have stayed in many houses and cottages and this was right up there with the best. The house is spacious and very well equipped. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed sitting in the lounge and watching the birds. The location was excellent for what we needed. It is not far from the main road but very quiet. It was a great base from which to explore the Dorset coast. We especially loved the walk from Lulworth Cove to White Noche. And it was also with easy driving distance of gardens that we wanted to visit and good places to eat. Many Thanks to Zoe who was very helpful.

Lovely Cottage

Carters barn is clean and comfortable. It is spacious and well equipped and provided excellent holiday accommodation. The wildlife just outside the lounge window was amazing - we did not need a TV as there was such a variety of entertainment, so many birds, squirrels, rabbits, stoat and vole! The location is superb for getting to all the local tourist attractions - most of which have been mentioned in previous reviews - except for the Tank Museum - a 5 minute drive away and fantastic value for £14 - so much to see and do and all under cover so perfect for a rainy day. We also wanted to mention that we had concerns that the cottage was close to kennels, but we were not bothered by the sound of dogs barking during our stay. Thanks Zoe - we will be back!

Lovely Homely Barn

The barn is in a great location for exploring the local area. It is equipped with everything you may need, very comfortable and a lovely place to stay. We found 2 pubs within easy walking distance (about one mile). The owner is very accommodating and responds to messages very quickly. We didn't meet her but she made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, we were snowed in and couldn't do all the things we had planned but as the barn is so lovely, it wasn't a hardship at all. Little touches like bird seed, DVDs, games and books add to the overall enjoyment. Thank you Zoe!

Ideal cottage - very welcoming

Great cottage and very welcoming. There were many advantages.

Downstairs..It had a covered porch area for muddy boots (perfect!). Open plan living area flowed well and felt really spacious. If you were sat in the kitchen you couldn't hear the TV ( a bonus if you are reading or your child is studying!). Kitchen was a good size and not cluttered. Plenty of cupboard space if doing your own cooking.

Upstairs.. The bedrooms were a good size. Plenty of cupboard space. Bathroom was clean and light.

It felt like a home from home and was very simply and tastefully decorated, so very relaxing.

The coastal area is easily accessible within 30 minutes. We enjoyed walking at Studland heath, Agglestone rock and Old Harry's rock. Lulworth and Durdle Door are even nearer.

For food shopping and cinema, Dorchester is approx. 20 minutes away.

So, the whole location (minimal driving after a long drive down) and set up was perfect for us.

A very enjoyable stay and hope to return again.

Lovely spacious Barn conversion
