About the property

Barn in Westhumble Nr. Dorking, Surrey, England - Peaceful Rural Location, easy access

The recently converted 19th century barn nestles in the farm properties. It has a modern open planned feel with luxury interior design and facilities. You will receive a warm personal welcome here at the farm. We are happy to collect you from the station in the village which has regular trains to London's Waterloo and Victoria stations. We are a working smallholding. You may well be woken by George the cockerel or Prince the donkey, before feasting on a breakfast of eggs and bacon from our own pigs and chickens. The welcome pack provided is extensive and includes products from the farm, freshly baked bread and cakes as well as produce from local suppliers.

Beautiful barn, beautiful surroundings

Lovely barn, very kind and welcoming owners, our favourite part of the UK.

We know the area well having lived there for a long time, so we were very happy to find the Flint Barn in the middle of it all.

Walks in the Surrey Hills, Dorking, Guildford and London close by.

The barn and surroundings are beautiful.

Our only regret, it is already booked for autumn half term!

We hope to be able to come again!

Wow what a wonderful place we have found. Thank you LIz and John for our stay at Flint barn.

We were overwhelmed by your hospitality the welcome pack was amazing !! Bacon sausage and eggs all from there animals freshly made cup cakes which were yummy all washed down with a beautiful glass off wine from the local vineyard.

We visited many places when staying at Flint barn, theme parks, shopping & the seaside all within 40 min drive.

You have done an amazing job here guys and we will be back without a doubt.

P.s Charlie is missing the dogs and I'm missing the homemade jam !!

Glorious Flint Barn

30 years ago my wife and I lived in Brockham so know the Surrey Hills well, yet had never ventured down Chapel Lane. Believe me we were both so happy to find that special place where you Liz, John and your family now live.

It is so peaceful yet conveniently located, with fantastic views plus your menagerie of animals, particularly your 3 friendly dogs.

The barn has been loving restored with every convenience and luxury so that self catering was indeed a pleasure. it is spotlessly clean, maintained to the highest standard and yet remains welcoming. The thoughtful touches of cakes, jams, cheeses etc etc and your non invasive friendship added so much to our holiday that without doubt we will stay with you again.

Great location and quality accommodation

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Flint Barn, so much so that we have stayed during 2015, both in Autumn for 1 week and again early December for 10 nights. Both the property and the surrounding countryside are really gorgeous. We enjoyed many walks to Denbie’s Wine Estate and the surrounding trails. We found any shopping we needed in the lovely market town of Dorking and the train is conveniently located for any trips into London.

Flint Barn is a very well appointed holiday retreat away from every day life. The interior is such a unique and special place that is cleaned and cared for immaculately. We found everything we needed and Liz would be helpful if you did require some assistance. Liz is both welcoming (thank you for all the lovely treats Liz!) offering local information but at the same time very respectful of her guest’s privacy. We all particularly enjoyed seeing the farm animals and special friendly dogs but still felt it was our own space to come and go with ease.

We would highly recommend this accommodation couples and families. We hope our own friends and family from Australia will have the chance to visit Flint Barn. Thank you Liz and Family for all your efforts to create a holiday haven.

Bit late in writing this review, apologies Liz. I arrived with my sister and daughter the night before getting married and returned with my husband to spend a our first few days together as newly weds. The barn is a beautifully luxurious property finished to a high standard. The glass wall in the main bedroom looking over the lounge and out across the farm is a really nice touch. Thank you so much Liz for all the special touches you organised for us on arrival, personalized hand made biscuits, champagne from Denbies wine estate, located nearby etc. The barn is a great location for exploring the surrey hills, beautiful country pubs and restaurants in Dorking which are well worth visiting. If I had to say one thing it would be to provide an outdoor space for smokers. We had a couple of smokers and it seemed a bit unfair especially at night that they'd have to smoke out beyond the entrance gates. I did notice a couple of safe places that I'm sure would've been no risk to the farm i.e. the patio garden or just outside the front door perhaps. Thanks again :-)

Fantastic Place

What a fantastic barn conversion and so many luxurious features. Great location within some beautiful walking countryside. Welcome pack of local produce was a real treat as was the superb cake on arrival. Only a short walk to the railway station and an easy journey into London. A real find that will be strongly recommended to family and friends. Thanks Liz for a great stay.

We are ideally based for exploring the Surrey Hills by foot. We are on the Surrey Cycle route and 5 minutes ride from the Olympic road race route on Boxhill. Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park are within half an hours drive from the farm. Polesden Lacey, headquarters for the National Trust is half an hours walk from the farm. RHS Wisley is 20 minutes drive away.
